Lin Hai stared at the photo Chang’e had sent him, completely dumbfounded.
In the picture, Chang’e’s graceful figure had her back turned to Lin Hai. A pale blue gossamer veil slipped slightly off her shoulder, revealing a stretch of fair, smooth, snowy-white skin. She glanced back with a smile—bright eyes, pearly teeth, a coquettish charm that could steal any man’s soul.
But none of that was the point. What shocked Lin Hai beyond belief was that Chang’e’s stunningly beautiful face was one he knew all too well.
This was basically just Liu Xinyue in ancient costume!
“Little sister-in-law, pull over!” Lin Hai hurriedly called out.
“What’s wrong? Did we run out of radishes again?” Liu Xinqing pulled the car over to the side of the road.
“Take a look at this photo—who does this look like to you?” Lin Hai ignored her question, saved the picture of Chang’e, and held it up in front of Liu Xinqing, his face full of astonishment.
Liu Xinqing looked at the photo, then gave Lin Hai a puzzled glance. She waved her little hand in front of his face.
“Did you lose your mind? That’s my sister.”
Lin Hai’s heart gave a heavy thump.
“Are you sure? That’s really your sister?” His voice was actually trembling a little.
Liu Xinqing saw the strange expression on his face and took another careful look at the photo.
“No doubt about it, that’s my sister. Look at that butterfly on her back—that’s her birthmark.”
Lin Hai’s head started buzzing.
After that, no matter what Liu Xinqing said, he couldn’t hear a thing.
There was only one voice echoing in his mind now: Xinyue is Chang’e, and Chang’e is Xinyue!
What the hell was going on here?
Suddenly, Lin Hai thought of the plum-blossom-shaped brand on Meng Xu’s backside, and then he looked again at the butterfly birthmark on Chang’e’s shoulder.
A thought burst into his head!
Could Xinyue be Chang’e reincarnated?
No, that’s impossible!
Chang’e was clearly still up in the Heavenly Court—how could she have reincarnated into the mortal world?
Maybe Xinyue and Chang’e just happened to look alike? After all, there are people in this world who share no blood relation at all yet look exactly the same.
But even if they looked alike, could they really have the exact same butterfly birthmark on their backs?
Lin Hai’s mind was a complete mess, but deep down, he still felt that Liu Xinyue and Chang’e had to be connected somehow.
“Hey, are you okay?” Liu Xinqing asked, a little worried. Lin Hai was staring blankly ahead like he’d lost his mind, not even reacting when the car came to a complete stop.
“Huh? I’m fine.” Lin Hai shook his head, and his expression gradually returned to normal.
Screw it—if I can’t figure it out, I won’t. All I need to know is that Xinyue is my girlfriend. Who gives a damn about the rest?
“Go on upstairs by yourself. I’m going to find your sister.” Lin Hai took the wheel and headed straight for the school.
“Xinyue, come out for a sec.” Lin Hai called Liu Xinyue out and had her get into the car.
Damn it, should I test this or not?
Even though Lin Hai had decided to let it go, somehow he still felt like there was a knot in his heart.
“What’s wrong with you? You’ve got such a weird look on your face.” Liu Xinyue furrowed her delicate brows as she looked at him.
“Um, Xinyue… could you, uh, take off your top?” In the end, Lin Hai couldn’t overcome his own hang-up.
Liu Xinyue’s face instantly flushed bright red.
“Ugh, how annoying! We’re in a car, you know. If you really want to… we can go find a room somewhere…” Liu Xinyue lowered her head shyly.
Pfft!
Lin Hai’s heart started pounding like crazy. Holy crap, this girl totally misunderstood.
But hey—that’s a good thing! I’m so freaking excited, wahaha!
“Okay, okay, okay, let’s go right now.” Damn, what a lucky accident! Lin Hai was thrilled.
“Mm.” Liu Xinyue didn’t even dare lift her head.
Lin Hai was absolutely delighted. Holy crap, he’d never expected this—today was the day he’d finally say goodbye to his virginity!
S! Lin Hai was trembling with excitement all on his own.
He fumbled to start the car and was just about to hit the road.
“Wait.” Liu Xinyue suddenly stopped him.
“What’s up, my little sweetheart Xinyue?” Lin Hai asked, his eyes practically sparkling with little hearts.
“I… I was so nervous just now that I forgot something.” Liu Xinyue’s cheeks were burning red as she whispered.
“What is it?” Lin Hai blinked.
“I, uh… yesterday I got my… you know…” Liu Xinyue’s voice was as faint as a mosquito’s hum.
“Got your what? What are you talking about?” Lin Hai still didn’t catch on.
“Ugh, don’t be dense! You know—that time of the month!” Liu Xinyue pouted in annoyance.
“That time of the—oh!” Lin Hai blurted out.
Pfft!
Lin Hai nearly fell right out of the car.
You’ve got to be kidding me! Why now of all times?
Lin Hai was so frustrated he could’ve coughed up blood.
“Forget it. Then just take it off here.” Lin Hai said, completely deflated.
“Huh? But I just told you—I’m on my period.” Liu Xinqing was starting to get a little annoyed.
“I just want to see your back. Your sister told me you have a butterfly birthmark there.”
“Tsk, that little brat—how can she just go around telling people that?” Liu Xinqing clicked her tongue in mild reproach, her cheeks going pink.
“Are you sure you just want to look at the birthmark?”
“Really.” Lin Hai nodded.
“O… okay then.” Liu Xinyue lowered her head and gently unbuttoned her jacket.
As the buttons came undone, a large expanse of pale, snowy skin gradually came into view. Her black lace bra simply couldn’t contain the magnificent curve of her chest—more than half of each full sphere was spilling out, almost bursting free.
Lin Hai gulped, again and again, swallowing several mouthfuls of saliva, his eyes practically glued to her.
Hearing the sound, Liu Xinqing shot him a glare, utterly embarrassed, and quickly turned her body around.
“Go ahead and look.”
Lin Hai’s gaze locked onto the spot just below the shoulder on Liu Xinyue’s back. There it was—a light pink butterfly birthmark, with clear, lifelike lines. Compared to the photo Chang’e had sent him, the position and shape were identical in every way!
“This…” Lin Hai’s eyes went wide.
“Are you done yet?” Liu Xinqing felt extremely uncomfortable with her body exposed and urged him impatiently.
Lin Hai didn’t answer. Instead, he abruptly turned Liu Xinyue around to face him.
“Ah!” Liu Xinyue gasped in surprise. Before she could react, Lin Hai’s big hands were already on her.
“My little sweetheart Xinyue, even though you’re on your period, the top half is still fair game. Let me collect a little interest first, hehehe…”
“You’re so annoying!” Liu Xinqing’s face quickly flushed a deep crimson.
“I haven’t been the big shot for many years…” Just then, Lin Hai’s phone suddenly rang.
Liu Xinyue jolted in surprise, quickly pushed Lin Hai away, and frantically straightened her disheveled clothes.
“Damn it, who the hell is this? So freaking annoying!” Lin Hai cursed under his breath.
He picked up the phone and saw an unfamiliar number—which only made him angrier.
Wasn’t this ruining his good time?
Not answering!
Lin Hai hung up directly.
A moment later, the phone rang again. Same number.
Lin Hai was fuming. Man, this guy was persistent.
“Who is this?” Lin Hai answered, his voice full of irritation.
“Um… is this Mr. Lin? It’s Wang Meng.” The person on the other end, clearly thrown off by Lin Hai’s tone, spoke up with some nervousness.
“Wang Meng?” Lin Hai froze. Damn it, this guy had the worst timing ever.
“What do you want?” Lin Hai asked, clearly annoyed.
“There’s a man named Lin Wen—is he your father?”
Lin Hai’s heart jolted violently!
“What happened to my dad?!”
