Liu Xinqing hadn’t expected the plump woman to just lash out like that. She let out a terrified shriek and squeezed her eyes shut.
“Huh?”
A crisp slapping sound rang out, but Liu Xinqing felt no pain at all.
She opened her eyes in surprise and saw that the plump woman from before was now sitting on the ground, clutching her face, staring in shock at the thin-soled canvas shoe that had seemingly flown out of nowhere.
Then, a familiar figure came into view.
“Why is he here?” Liu Xinqing’s eyes lit up.
“Move aside, move aside.” Lin Hai hopped over on one leg.
“A flying shoe from the heavens! Haha, finally found you!” Lin Hai yelled out playfully as he picked up the shoe in front of the plump woman.
“Whoa, holy crap.” Suddenly, Lin Hai wrinkled his nose in an exaggerated way and fanned the air with his hand.
“Damn, how’d it get so stinky? Hey, I say, Fatty Auntie, did you get athlete’s foot on your face? You’ve tainted my heavenly flying shoe! Pay up!” Lin Hai held out his hand toward the plump woman on the ground with a look of disgust.
Pfft!
“Hahahaha…” The people in line burst into laughter.
Who the heck was this guy? He was hilarious.
These folks had already been annoyed by the plump woman cutting in line, but with that fierce-looking burly man beside her, no one dared to say a word.
Now this funny guy suddenly appeared, clearly just messing with the fat woman. Everyone felt relieved and watched the spectacle with curiosity.
“Pfft!” Liu Xinqing covered her mouth and giggled at Lin Hai’s goofy antics.
The plump woman was dazed by the unexpected shoe attack and only snapped out of it now. She let out a wail and lost it.
“Son of a bitch, you little brat! Who’re you calling Fatty Auntie? I’m only twenty-two! How dare you hit me with your stinky shoe! Biao, cripple him!”
The tattooed burly man beside her flashed a fierce look in his eyes and kicked straight at Lin Hai.
“Ah, crap!” Lin Hai still hadn’t put his shoe back on and let out a startled yelp.
“Holy shit!” The onlookers’ hearts jumped to their throats, feeling sorry for Lin Hai. Though his actions were satisfying to watch, it was clear he was in for a severe beating.
Just as Biao’s kick was about to land on Lin Hai—
“Dodge!” Lin Hai shouted, jumping to the side on one leg while swinging the shoe in his hand.
“Smack!”
A crisp sound echoed as the sole of Lin Hai’s shoe slapped right across Biao’s face, making his chubby cheeks jiggle. Biao stumbled and fell sideways.
“Ahh!” The plump woman on the ground let out a heart-wrenching scream.
“Huh? Fatty Auntie, he’s kicking me, so why are you screaming like that? You scared me so much I can barely stand steady.” Lin Hai balanced on one leg, swaying back and forth.
“You’re standing on my foot!” The plump woman was in so much pain she was almost crying, wailing like a stuck pig.
“Oh, really?” Lin Hai looked down in confusion. “Holy crap, I really am stepping on it? It’s all swollen up like a pig’s trotter. My bad, my bad.”
Lin Hai twisted his foot a couple more times before hopping off.
The plump woman screamed in agony again.
“Hey, you know what? This swelling actually looks good on you. I just realized it matches your figure perfectly—it’s like free plastic surgery! Of course, no need to thank me. I’ve always been happy to help others.”
Lin Hai put his shoe on and said modestly, as if he’d just done a good deed.
“Hahaha!” The crowd burst into laughter again. Any worry they’d had for Lin Hai had vanished.
By now, everyone could tell—this joker was clearly just toying with that fat woman.
The plump woman was nearly driven mad. Thank you, my foot! Plastic surgery? Who gets plastic surgery on their foot, you idiot?
“Bastard! You dare cross me? I’ll have someone kill you!” The plump woman couldn’t even stand up with her swollen foot. She sat on the ground, glaring at Lin Hai with venomous eyes, wishing she could tear him apart.
“What’s going on here?” At that moment, the security guards from the Workers’ Cultural Palace walked in.
The plump woman perked up at the sight of them.
“Are you useless guard dogs here to eat crap? Can’t you see someone’s causing trouble? Throw him out!” The plump woman pointed at Lin Hai and shrieked hysterically.
The guards frowned. The woman’s words were too harsh.
They were guards, yes, at the bottom of the social ladder, but they still deserved respect and dignity.
“What the hell, didn’t you hear me? Why are you just standing there!” Biao also got up, clutching his swollen face, but he didn’t dare charge in himself. He just yelled at the guards instead.
A true expert reveals themselves with a single move. Lin Hai’s shoe slap earlier might have seemed frantic and accidental, but it didn’t fool Biao, a seasoned brawler.
Biao was sure—this kid definitely knew some martial arts. He wasn’t about to jump in again and take another beating.
“Security guards, don’t listen to them. Look at how frail I am, while those two are like a pair of pigs, one male and one female. How could I possibly beat them?” Lin Hai put on a pitiful act, speaking weakly.
“You’re frail? Frail my ass!” The plump woman and Biao cursed inwardly. This guy was shameless.
“Why are you still standing there like idiots? If you don’t act, I’ll have your boss fire every single one of you!” The plump woman’s face twisted with rage as she screamed.
Hearing this, the guards hesitated. They had families to feed, and if this woman really did know their boss and got them fired, they’d be in deep trouble.
With that in mind, the lead guard stepped forward.
Seeing the guards waver, the onlookers immediately protested.
“Security guards, don’t listen to them!”
“Exactly! That fat woman cut in line first!”
“They started the fight too! That fat woman was about to hit the girl in front!”
“Throw them both out! These scumbags have no social decency—they’re trash!”
The crowd united against the plump woman and Biao.
“Well…” The guards were stuck in a tough spot.
If they kicked anyone out, they’d risk angering the entire crowd.
“What are you yelling about? Shut your mouths, all of you! You looking to die?”
Seeing the crowd siding with Lin Hai, the plump woman snarled viciously, her face hideous with anger.
“Manager Han, can you please come over here? The lobby’s in chaos, and we can’t even sell tickets anymore.” A ticket seller made a phone call.
“What’s all this racket?” Soon, a commanding voice came from the entrance.
Everyone turned to see a middle-aged man dressed sharply with slicked-back hair striding in with an air of importance.
The guards, who had been at a loss, breathed a sigh of relief.
“Manager Han, these two people—”
Before the guard could finish, Han Jinyan’s expression suddenly changed. He plastered on a fawning smile and hurried over with quick, small steps.
