Hearing the voice, Ye Feng and Ye Ziyu hurried out.
“Mr. Lin, it was all my son’s fault before—he didn’t follow your instructions.” Ye Feng said with a remorseful look.
“Alright, enough of that. Let’s go see the patient!” Lin Hai waved his hand.
“Ah, Mr. Lin, this way, please.” Ye Feng quickly led the way.
“Huh?” Lin Hai had only taken a couple of steps when he stopped, looking at Ye Feng in surprise.
“Your issue—it’s been resolved?”
Ye Feng’s heart jolted at that.
He’d only had surgery that very day, and yet Lin Hai had spotted it with a single glance.
Needless to say, this deepened Ye Feng’s reverence for Lin Hai even further.
“That’s all thanks to your reminder, Mr. Lin. I went to the hospital for a full checkup during the day and found a malignant tumor in my body. The doctor said if I’d been any later, I would’ve been done for. I truly can’t thank you enough.” Ye Feng sighed with emotion.
Lin Hai smiled but said nothing.
As soon as he entered the bedroom, Lin Hai saw Afang lying in bed with a furrowed brow, seemingly asleep.
“Mr. Lin, Afang just had another angina attack and only fell asleep a moment ago. But this time, the pain was much worse than before.” Ye Feng’s heart ached at the thought of his wife’s suffering.
“The earlier treatment was forcibly interrupted, which irritated her heart. Naturally, the pain would intensify.”
“That beast!” Ye Feng turned his head and shot a harsh glare at Ye Ziming.
Ye Ziming shrank back in fright and hid behind Ye Ziyu.
“So, Mr. Lin…” Ye Feng looked at Lin Hai with hopeful eyes.
“Hoo…” Lin Hai let out a long breath. “I’ll continue treating her with the gold needles, but the suffering she endured before—this time, it’ll last twice as long.”
“What!” Ye Feng was stunned speechless.
He had personally witnessed Afang’s agonized expression when Lin Hai had needled her previously.
And now, the duration would double!
Ye Feng spun around and strode over to Ye Ziming in two steps.
“I’ll beat you to death, you mother-upsetting fool!” In a rage, Ye Feng laid into Ye Ziming with a flurry of blows.
Ye Ziming clutched his head, crouched on the ground, howling like a ghost.
The commotion roused Afang on the bed, and she woke up.
“Dad, stop! Mom’s awake.” Ye Ziyu finally held Ye Feng back.
“Afang, how are you feeling?” Ye Feng hurried to her bedside.
Afang shook her head weakly.
“Afang, we’ve invited Mr. Lin back again, but…” Ye Feng paused, unable to bring himself to tell Afang that the pain would last twice as long.
“Feng, don’t worry. Now that Mr. Lin is here, let him go ahead with the treatment.” Afang smiled, appearing remarkably optimistic.
At that point, Lin Hai stepped forward.
“Auntie, Uncle Ye can’t bear to tell you, but I need to be clear with you. This time, the pain will last twice as long as last time.” Lin Hai said with a grave expression.
“Heh, it’s alright. Mr. Lin, just go ahead with the needling. I can take it.” Afang’s face showed not a trace of panic.
“Alright, then. Here I go.” Lin Hai couldn’t help but admire this woman. He pulled out the gold needles and inserted them.
“Hmph!” Afang let out a grunt, her face contorted by the intense pain.
“Sigh, Xiaoyu, take care of your mother.” Ye Feng couldn’t bear to watch any longer and turned to leave.
“Bro, I’m heading out too.” Ye Ziming shrank his neck—he didn’t want to stay either.
“Xiaohai, on behalf of our family, thank you.” After Ye Feng and Ye Ziming left, Ye Ziyu gave Lin Hai a gentle smile.
“Come on, Ziyu, we don’t need to say all that.” Lin Hai shook his head.
“By the way, Ziyu, do you have any tickets for the Youth Singing Competition? Help me get a few.” Lin Hai suddenly remembered that his mother had asked him to get tickets.
“Tickets? Ziming’s been in charge of that. Just ask him directly.”
“Alright, I’ll go find him outside.”
As soon as Lin Hai reached the living room, he was startled.
What the—where’d this panda come from?
There stood Ye Ziming with two massive, black-and-blue shiners, standing before Ye Feng with a face that looked like he wanted to cry but didn’t dare—utterly ridiculous.
“Hmph, you beast, you’ve infuriated me! Look at the pain you’ve caused your mother. Other people embarrass their fathers; you specialize in tormenting your mother!”
Ye Ziming pouted and shot a glance at Ye Feng, thinking to himself: I got beaten this badly just for upsetting Mom—if I ever upset you, would I even survive?
Seeing Lin Hai come downstairs, Ye Feng quickly stood up, his expression respectful.
Lin Hai smiled at Ye Feng and turned to Ye Ziming.
“Young Master Ye, could you spare me a few tickets for the Youth Singing Competition?”
“Sure, but I don’t have any good seats left.” Ye Ziming certainly didn’t want to give Lin Hai the front-row seats.
But before he could finish, Ye Feng kicked him aside.
“You idiot! Mr. Lin asking you for tickets is doing you a favor. Give him all the front-row seats—every single one—and you keep none for yourself!”
“Dad, that’s impossible—”
“Go get them now! If you don’t, I’ll beat you to death!”
Lin Hai stood by, feeling awkward. Damn it, I only asked for a few—no need to bring them all!
“Uh, Uncle Ye, you don’t have to—”
“Mr. Lin, don’t worry about it. All the front-row tickets are yours. Use as many as you like, and throw away the rest if you want.” Ye Feng waved his hand grandly, cutting Lin Hai off.
“Still standing there? Go now!” Seeing Ye Ziming frozen in place, Ye Feng lunged at him again.
“I’m going, I’m going, alright?” Terrified, Ye Ziming scrambled away.
“Mr. Lin, please have a seat and wait here. Ziming will be back soon.” Once Ye Ziming was gone, Ye Feng quickly invited Lin Hai to sit down.
“Uh… no need. Just have Young Master Ye bring them to the school for me. And really, I can’t use that many tickets—you don’t have to give me all of them.”
“Nonsense. Mr. Lin is our family’s savior. Front-row tickets are nothing—if you wanted every ticket in the venue, I’d give them to you without hesitation.” Ye Feng thumped his chest.
Pfft!
What the hell would I do with that many tickets? Eat them?
Lin Hai was speechless!
Still, the fact that Ye Feng was giving him all the front-row seats just because he’d casually mentioned it did make him feel pretty good.
“Ye Feng’s a solid guy.”
After Lin Hai left, a sly, fox-like smile crept onto Ye Feng’s face.
“Ziming’s still young. This Lin Hai is clearly a miracle doctor. Staying on good terms with him adds a layer of security to the Ye family’s health. Compared to that, what are a few tickets?”
After a moment’s thought, Ye Feng pulled out his phone and called Ye Ziming.
“Ziming, as soon as you get the tickets, deliver them to Mr. Lin at the school. Remember—not a single one stays with you!”
