Time passed slowly. Bai Xuan chatted with everyone in the group while exercising. This sort of multitasking was nothing for him; ever since his previous life, he’d been able to daydream in class while still listening to the teacher’s lecture.

The doorbell rang. Bai Xuan paused, slightly surprised.
Someone at the door?
He glanced at the time—it was already 8 PM. Logically, no one he knew should be visiting him at this hour.
Though puzzled, Bai Xuan walked over and opened the door.
With his current level of power, he shouldn’t have to worry about anyone on Earth being able to harm him. If someone like that did exist, he figured he’d sense a threat, rather than feeling this calm.
But once the door was open, his brow furrowed slightly.
Standing before him was a woman—and an exceptionally beautiful one at that.
Her fiery red hair danced lightly in the breeze. She had slender, arched brows, eyes that shimmered with allure, and lips of a striking, vivid red. Her snow-white face held a playful, teasing smile.
Judging purely by her face, she looked to be in her early twenties, but as for her actual age, Bai Xuan couldn’t analyze that. Gauging a woman’s age solely by her appearance was beyond his skill set.
He was simply wondering why she had sought him out, and why her emotions carried a hint of… amusement?
“Who are you?”
Though curious internally, Bai Xuan’s expression revealed nothing as he asked in a flat tone.
“What’s this? After doing something so presumptuous to me, you suddenly don’t recognize me?”
Huo Yu smiled, her voice laced with teasing sarcasm. She moved as if to sidestep him and enter the house, but in the next second, an arm blocked her path.
“I have no interest in playing word games with you.”
“If you have no business here, please leave.”
Bai Xuan stated calmly.
Huo Yu looked up at him for about ten seconds, then shrugged.
“High schoolers these days are surprisingly mature.”
“Well, maybe not all of them. You’re just a special case.”
“Most people who gain power, when faced with danger, can’t wait to show it off and play the hero. But you chose to hide in the crowd. You used your power, but because of its unique nature, no one noticed.”
She paused, then looked at Bai Xuan and smiled slightly.
“So, may I come in and sit down now?”
Bai Xuan gave her a deep look. He knew exactly what incident she was referring to. Without hesitation, he said calmly:
“Please.”
He still wasn’t sure how he had been exposed, but if he had to guess, this woman was likely from the government.
Only the authorities could pinpoint him so quickly among the large number of students.
Although he still couldn’t figure out their method.
There were no security cameras installed on the sports field, so they couldn’t have identified him through psychological profiling from footage. His registered ability was Metal Element Control, and plenty of people had awakened elemental powers; they had even less reason to single him out.
In the living room, Huo Yu sat on the sofa, legs crossed, watching Bai Xuan with a smile playing on her lips.
“While smiling is a way to bring people closer, if you do it too much, people might just think you’re silly.”

“The government has already named it? Does that mean these birds aren’t few in number—perhaps even abundant?”

Bai Xuan had suspected this before, especially after friends at other schools complained about facing similar birds during their ability awakenings.

Had she revealed anything? She was sure she had only said the bird’s name.
How could he deduce all that from just a name? And it was all completely accurate?!

She cleared her throat twice, ready to speak, but just then, she heard Bai Xuan ask another question.
“The Crimson Flame Bird’s power is considerable. How is the government cultivating them?”
“I am quite certain that the spiritual energy resurgence began the night of the Seven Stars Alignment. There’s no scenario where it started subtly earlier and we just didn’t notice.”
“Under these circumstances, it’s impossible for the government to breed such a large number of combat-capable Crimson Flame Birds.”
“So, is it because of special abilities? Beast Taming or Summoning-type powers?”
