Just as An Xiaoyu was sighing to herself about how the land battle scene was really unsuitable for the mermaid princess to fight in,
the green mist controlled by Hu Yao’er had already entered the pale yellow mist and reached the fallen Si Yexing and Zhao Mei’er.

Feeling the feedback from the Apothecary Ghost, and realizing that the green mist could cancel out the supernatural power effects of the pale yellow mist, Old Lady Victoria immediately sensed trouble. She then controlled the five ghosts around her, launching a fierce attack toward where Hu Yao’er, the releaser of the green mist, was located.
“Stop right there!”
Watching the ghosts launch their attack at Hu Yao’er, Zhao Mei’er naturally couldn’t just let them go by. She immediately dragged her spear and blocked the Warrior Ghost and another ghost that looked a lot like a lion.
Noticing that three ghosts had still gotten past Zhao Mei’er and were charging toward Hu Yao’er’s side, Bai Yuling realized that Old Lady Victoria had recognized the threat Hu Yao’er posed and was acting on it. She quickly shouted to the members of the Supernatural Affairs Bureau around her,
“The Shepherd is making a move! Everyone, give it everything you’ve got. We absolutely cannot let them break through our line of defense!”
“Yes, Director!”
The bureau members responded loudly to Bai Yuling’s command, and then each of them unleashed their supernatural powers, launching attacks at the ghosts charging toward their defensive line, trying to stop their advance this way.
But the gap in strength between the bureau members and the three ghosts was just too big, so much so that they couldn’t effectively block the ghosts’ movements. They could only watch helplessly as the ghosts slowly got closer and closer to their defense line.
“Dammit, my supernatural power is totally useless against these ghosts.”
“How frustrating! With our strength, there’s no way we can stop these ghosts.”
“Captain, should we retreat now?”
“Retreat, my foot! If we pull back now, the whole city of Fangfeng might be in trouble in a few days.”
“It’s over, it’s over. Looks like we’re all going to die here today.”
Just as the bureau members were starting to fall into chaos because of the ghosts’ constant approach, An Xiaoyu realized that if she didn’t act now, the bureau would definitely suffer a big loss here today. So she quickly shouted loudly to the people nearby,
“Don’t panic! Let me block these ghosts!”
After shouting, ignoring how the bureau members around her might react, An Xiaoyu activated her supernatural power and conjured a massive water dragon, a good ten meters long, right beside her.
Seeing this huge water dragon appear out of thin air next to An Xiaoyu, everyone from the bureau present couldn’t hide their astonishment.
But before they could even snap out of it, An Xiaoyu controlled the massive water dragon, sending it flying toward the direction the ghosts were charging from, directly colliding with them.
The ghosts, which were completely immune to physical attacks but had a hard time resisting supernatural power attacks, took quite a bit of damage once hit by An Xiaoyu’s water dragon, which was rich with her supernatural power. They quickly stopped their charge and retreated out of the water dragon’s range.
Watching the ghosts stop charging toward their defense line and instead change direction to pull back out of the water dragon’s range,
the bureau members, who had thought they couldn’t hold the line, instantly showed looks of sheer joy. If the battle weren’t still going on and the ghosts weren’t destroyed yet, they probably would have started celebrating loudly already.
“Don’t just stand there dumbfounded! Hurry up and keep reinforcing the defense line!”
Seeing the bureau members’ overjoyed faces, An Xiaoyu, who had used up a lot of her supernatural power and knew she wouldn’t be able to use the water dragon blast like before for a while, quickly shouted to the group.
Hearing this, the bureau members finally snapped out of their earlier joy at holding the line and quickly got back to reinforcing their defenses, to keep the ghosts from breaking through.
“Another peak three-star supernatural being. This Free Life Association really isn’t as simple as it sounds. But even so, it’s not a big deal. After all, on our side, including myself, we have a full six peak three-star fighters, while the other side only has three. Beating them is just a matter of time.”
Upon discovering that Hu Yao’er also had An Xiaoyu, another peak three-star supernatural being, by her side, Old Lady Victoria was a bit surprised.
