Ling Xiaoxiao sprinted at full speed while carrying Xue Ji on her shoulder, showing no signs of someone still recovering from serious injuries. Hot on her heels was a mummy on crutches, hopping along in relentless pursuit. This absurd spectacle was unfolding right in the recuperation area of the Canglong.
“Xiao Ji, I never knew you were such a flirt,” Ling Xiaoxiao said, giving Xue Ji’s waist a firm pinch.
“Mmph, I’m not about to say I’m sorry,” Xue Ji shot back. With her arms and legs currently out of commission, she had no choice but to endure Ling Xiaoxiao’s antics—but she wasn’t about to back down verbally.
Hearing that, Ling Xiaoxiao stopped in the lounge area and shifted Xue Ji into a princess carry.
Xue Ji, still in a cast, was clearly in no position to resist. The intimate pose was nothing but Ling Xiaoxiao’s little streak of mischief.
“I don’t need your apologies. All I want is you.”
Xue Ji turned her face away, refusing to meet her gaze.
“Who even taught you to say all this cheesy stuff?”
“Don’t you like it? If you don’t, I won’t say it anymore.” Ling Xiaoxiao smiled.
“No, it’s not that… It just feels a little weird.”
As Xue Ji spoke, the crutch-wielding mummy came hopping up behind them.
Ling Xiaoxiao, however, acted as if she didn’t even see her. She casually set Xue Ji down on a nearby cushioned chair.
“Ah Ji, I’m coming to save you!”
Sha Ya’s ears were now exposed, and their bald appearance was absolutely hilarious.
Ling Xiaoxiao looked down at Sha Ya, barely suppressing her laughter. A tense, confrontational air crackled between them.
But the moment Sha Ya’s tail came into view, that tension evaporated entirely.
“Sha Ya, your tail’s bald too! Hahaha~” Xue Ji couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Even the usually stern Ling Xiaoxiao let out a chuckle—only to have the movement tug at her chest wound, setting off a fit of coughing.
“Ahem, serves you right, you little vixen.”
Sha Ya shot back without missing a beat: “Hmph, you’re one to talk.”
Just as the two started going at it, the atmosphere shifted again, and both turned their heads away in opposite directions.
They stood there, stubbornly locked in silent standoff, yet neither made any move to leave.
Xue Ji saw right through both of them. Her lips twitched slightly, but she chose to stay quiet.
‘We really are a hopelessly awkward bunch.’
The two just stood there. Who knew how long passed before Ling Xiaoxiao finally broke the silence.
“Sha Ya.”
“What?!” Even wrapped up like a mummy, Sha Ya’s fierce, defiant gaze was impossible to ignore.
“I… I’m sorry.” Ling Xiaoxiao’s voice was barely a whisper.
Sha Ya tilted her head in mock confusion. “What was that? I didn’t catch it. Could you say it again?”
She cupped her hand by her ear like a little speaker. It would’ve been an adorable gesture—if it weren’t for the fact that she currently looked like a mummy trying to act cute.
Ling Xiaoxiao saw right through her little game. Her eyes went cold.
Sha Ya felt a chill run down her spine and immediately leaped backward to create distance.
“I SAID! I’M SORRY!”
The words, infused with spiritual energy, shot toward Sha Ya like a physical force. Several nearby chairs were sent flying from the sheer impact.
Even though Sha Ya had braced herself, she was still caught off guard and flung backward.
And the direction she was flying toward? Locked dead onto Xue Ji.
Xue Ji’s face went pale. “Don’t come any closer—!”
Just as Sha Ya was about to crash into Xue Ji, time seemed to slow down.
In the next instant, the cushioned chair Xue Ji had been sitting on tipped over.
But Xue Ji herself appeared in a wheelchair.
“Thank you, EVA.”
The blue-haired girl pushed Xue Ji’s wheelchair, staring coldly at the chaos unfolding in front of her.
A moment earlier, she’d sensed Xue Ji’s panic. Seizing the moment when Lilith had let her guard down, she had landed a clean elbow strike and sent her reeling.
Lilith clutched her stomach, fuming, and stormed over.
“You little blue-haired brat! Always acting all meek and mild, but you sure fight dirty, huh?!”
EVA didn’t even respond. She simply ducked behind Xue Ji.
Lilith wasn’t about to let that slide. She switched tactics and went straight to tattling.
“Sis! She hit me!”
Who can’t play the victim? Since Xue Ji had willingly chosen this messy path for herself, Lilith wasn’t going to hold back.
One storm hadn’t even settled before another broke out. These so-called “patients” sure had boundless energy.
Xue Ji watched the scene unfold, her brows furrowed tightly.
“Can’t you all just get along?” she sighed.
Ling Xiaoxiao scoffed in reply. “Get along? Maybe before. But now…”
“Keep dreaming!” Lilith jumped in.
Sha Ya, who had been lying flat on her back, scrambled to her feet and joined the fray.
“So, Ah Ji—whose side are you on?!”
The four of them surrounded her, each grabbing hold of one of her limbs.
Through her arms and legs, Xue Ji could feel each of them silently fighting for dominance.
“Hey—what are you all doing?! Calm down, calm down!”
“Not a chance. You chose this, so you’d better enjoy it~” Ling Xiaoxiao said, pulling her into a tight embrace.
Sha Ya, taking advantage of her small frame, burrowed straight into Xue Ji’s chest.
Lilith, not to be outdone, melted into the shadows and wrapped herself around from behind.
Each of them pulled out all the stops, leaving EVA completely dumbfounded.
It looked like Xue Ji was about to be torn apart by the three of them at any second.
“You can’t even give a hug equally. How unfair, Xiao Ji.”
“At the end of the day, it’s all your fault for being such a flirt, Sis.”
“Exactly. Wasn’t I enough for you? You kept bringing more and more back. You had this coming. Honestly, you’re just asking for it~” Ling Xiaoxiao said as she suddenly rose up and kissed her while everyone else was distracted.
“Mmph—!”
Xue Ji’s eyes went wide. She never expected Lilith to pin the blame entirely on her—nor did she anticipate that all of it would come crashing down on her shoulders.
Sha Ya, on the other hand, wasn’t overthinking it. To her, this felt like a free-for-all over a prize—and she wasn’t about to let go.
The situation quickly spiraled out of control. Somehow, Ling Xiaoxiao had already gotten Xue Ji into something close to a rear naked choke. The other two were squeezing in tight, leaving her completely immobilized.
“Stop! I’m gonna die—I’m literally dying!”
EVA tried to step in, but the moment she got close, Ling Xiaoxiao yanked her out of the accelerated world.
“Little EVA, this doesn’t concern you. Go play somewhere else.”
Xue Ji turned her head desperately, shooting a pleading look at EVA.
EVA thought for a moment—then simply sat down in a nearby chair.
She shook her head, signaling that she was powerless to help.
“Damn it… Is this really how it ends…” Xue Ji closed her eyes.
[Don’t give up, Sage-sama.]
A voice from a distant dimension rang in Xue Ji’s ear once more.
‘Easy for you to say! Come help me then!’ Xue Ji shot back.
[Alright, let me just see what you’re—… Sorry, I can’t do that. Goodbye.]
Before Xue Ji could even call after them, the voice vanished again.
In the command room, Chen Shijie watched the scene and felt a pang of sympathy.
“Commander Ye… Is this really okay?”
Commander Ye squinted at him with a strange look.
“I didn’t see anything. The equipment in the lounge area is malfunctioning. I’m going to notify everyone to stay away for now.” Chen Shijie said, catching on quickly.
Commander Ye gave a approving nod and gestured for him to get going.
Back in the lounge, Xue Ji was being pulled and tugged in every direction by the girls, enduring pain no ordinary person could even imagine.
“Since you’re all doing this to me, then I’m done holding back!”
A flash of magical light—and suddenly, they were all in the bedroom of a mountain villa.
The aura emanating from Xue Ji shifted dramatically, sending a shiver down Ling Xiaoxiao’s spine.
‘At this point, even “debauchery” can’t begin to describe what we have…’
