“What are you trying to do? Don’t do anything crazy!” Wu Heng and Xia Qingqing blurted out in unison.
Zhuge Zhi struggled to his feet. “Obviously, I’m going to show off. Don’t even think about stopping me.”
He looked toward Su Mo once again, his expression serious. “I can help you hold it off.”
Su Mo met his unwavering gaze and knew he wanted to prove himself. “Alright!”
That was when the White Flood Dragon moved.
Zhuge Zhi cut his own brow with his fingernail, and a streak of blood flowed out, transforming into eerie symbols.
He murmured under his breath, “Debts must be repaid, lives must be paid for—all karma, gather upon me. Absolute Control, arise!”
The blood-red symbols suddenly expanded tens of thousands of times, enveloping everyone within them. An indescribable sensation spread through everyone’s hearts.
The next instant, the White Flood Dragon suddenly began thrashing in midair, as if bound by ropes.
A trace of contempt and arrogance flickered through Zhuge Zhi’s sharp eyes. “Get down here, you overgrown worm!”
The moment the words left his mouth, the White Flood Dragon actually fell, crashing heavily onto the ground, barely able to move.
At the same time, Su Mo wielded the Tetanus Blade, releasing every ounce of his blade intent. The tremendous power left deep marks across the White Flood Dragon’s body, but it couldn’t break through the defense of its scales to truly wound its true form.
It wasn’t just him—no one else could do it either.
Zhuge Zhi’s expression changed. “You’ve got to be kidding me…”
Su Mo steeled himself and put away his long blade.
Ye Qingyi was startled. “You’re going to blow it up again?”
“Everything hinges on this one move. We have to burn our boats!”
Suddenly, the White Flood Dragon stirred. Zhuge Zhi’s face paled several degrees as the wound he’d just bandaged split open without warning, blood gushing out. “Hurry, I can’t hold it much longer.”
He deeply regretted saying “one minute” earlier—it hadn’t even been ten seconds and he was already at his limit.
When neither the Tetanus Blade nor a desperate all-out strike could break the White Flood Dragon’s defense, Su Mo realized that only the Mountain-Sea Fist would work.
After all, that was the technique even the White Flood Dragon feared—it refused to clash head-on with it.
“Everyone fall back, let me handle this!”
Su Mo, throwing all caution to the wind, shattered another snow mountain—this time the one governing “Evil,” the Cleanser of Filth.
When striking a snake, aim for its seven inches; when striking a flood dragon, go for the head.
Where the fist landed, flesh and blood splattered everywhere. The force of the punch traveled through the White Flood Dragon’s shattered skull and struck the earth, which split open with several terrifying cracks as blood poured into them.
The White Flood Dragon went still on the spot.
Just to be safe, Su Mo slashed it several more times with his blade until it had completely stopped breathing. Only then did his legs give out and he collapsed into Ye Qingyi’s arms.
Meanwhile, Wu Heng caught the fully unconscious Zhuge Zhi and quickly staunched his bleeding again while feeding him the medicinal herbs Su Mo handed over.
“We owe you big time this time—without you, we’d all have been done for,” Wu Heng said in a low voice.
Xia Qingqing bit her lower lip, tears streaming down her face. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have bullied you…”
She was the most emotional of them all—always the one crying and laughing.
Huo Jingshu was the exact opposite. Although she was worried too, seeing that both Su Mo and Zhuge Zhi had people looking after them, she went alone to examine the White Flood Dragon’s corpse for any other issues.
But as she looked, she noticed something was off. “Its body is slowly disappearing!”
The moment she spoke, the rate of disappearance accelerated, and it faded into nothingness at a visible speed.
“Oh no, get away!”
Ye Qingyi’s warning came a step too late. Huo Jingshu was seized by a dragon claw that appeared out of thin air, and the other five were greeted by a tail whip as fast as lightning.
Su Mo had used the Mountain-Sea Fist twice in a row, putting enormous strain on his body. Now she was the only one who could barely hold her own against the White Flood Dragon, so she handed Su Mo over to Xia Qingqing.
The White Flood Dragon’s tail whip was incredibly fast and impossible to dodge. Ye Qingyi was immediately whipped dizzy.
Her advantage lay in her seven snow mountains, but the gap in level and realm was too great to bridge. Against the White Flood Dragon’s relentless attacks, she had no chance of winning.
“ROAR—” She unleashed a move called Wicked Dragon’s Roar. The opponent roared back, and its power was even stronger.
A flash of white light, and Ye Qingyi was clawed until she was covered in injuries, blood everywhere. Seeing this, Su Mo started stuffing handfuls of medicinal herbs into his mouth—all kinds of powerful tonics.
Normally, even one stalk would take him ages to recover from. Now there was no cooldown to speak of.
“Law Prison!”
The air several kilometers around suddenly shattered, and the White Flood Dragon, which had been darting about unpredictably, was fully revealed.
“So it was a domain—I can’t believe it’s actually an A-rank that’s comprehended domain abilities,” Ye Qingyi’s heart sank again. “No wonder you were circling in the air earlier—you were preparing your domain.”
She guessed right. The White Flood Dragon had indeed been preparing its domain just now, and its ability to “rise from the dead” was thanks to the domain’s effects.
Huo Jingshu was held in its “hand” but hadn’t been killed immediately. Seeing this, Ye Qingyi let out a breath of relief.
But the White Flood Dragon’s attacks were still ferocious. It opened its mouth and fired a white light beam.
Ye Qingyi couldn’t dodge in time and was grazed on the arm. Cold energy instantly entered her body, and her arm went stiff.
“Damn it!” Ye Qingyi was at a loss when a slender, warm palm suddenly grabbed her arm, and most of the cold energy dissipated.
“Let’s do this together!” Su Mo stood beside her, full of vigor, his gaze gentle—almost like a devoted wife and loving mother.
The White Flood Dragon was very cunning. Everyone swept by its white light beam had been turned into ice sculptures, leaving only Su Mo and Ye Qingyi.
“Yeah.” Ye Qingyi nodded and intertwined her fingers with his, her heart suddenly feeling steady.
“ROAR—” The White Flood Dragon seemed provoked by something and suddenly began roaring frantically, charging straight at the “lovey-dovey couple” in the distance.
Su Mo looked very calm, as if he were confident. Ye Qingyi held Su Mo’s hand as if she had the whole world and laughed instead of fearing.
“Qingyi, we probably won’t be leaving here today. Are you scared?”
“Not scared. With you by my side, I’m not afraid of anything.” Even though she was covered in wounds, there wasn’t a trace of pain in her expression—only sweetness.
They held each other tightly, completely ignoring the White Flood Dragon’s approach.
White Flood Dragon: “#$¥&*…”
“Take care of yourself. Please look after my parents and Momo for me.” Su Mo said softly, then chopped the back of Ye Qingyi’s neck with his hand. Before she could react, she fell into a deep sleep.
“I’m a selfish person. I just want to be the hero all by myself. You just stay put over here.” Su Mo laid her on the ground and smiled easily.
In the turn of his gaze, tenderness faded and coldness returned.
The White Flood Dragon’s claws were already right in front of him. Su Mo didn’t choose to dodge—he just waited for it to come closer.
Pfft—
The claws easily pierced his chest and came out through his back. A splash of flesh and blood sprayed into the air—a gruesome sight.
His body was carried hundreds of meters backward by the White Flood Dragon, strung on its claws like a lamb skewer.
The protagonist dies. The end.
…
…
…
Just kidding.
The “male lead” is clearly still alive.
