“Wow, he’s actually a man, and such a handsome one at that!” A drop of glistening drool slipped from the corner of Shuang’er’s mouth. She wiped it away with her hand, completely ignoring how unladylike she looked.
The corner of Su Mo’s mouth twitched. He secretly felt relieved that he was currently just a soul, otherwise, he might have really lost his innocence.
That look on her face, like she’d never seen a man before… it was honestly terrifying.
But wasn’t she already a mother? And it wasn’t like Xiao Xiao was adopted.
“Well, well, looks like someone beat me to the punch.” Shuang’er leaned in close to observe Su Mo’s soul form, touching his Adam’s apple, touching his face. Even though she couldn’t feel anything, she still groped him with great enthusiasm.
However, Su Mo was actually a bit interested in her soul-seizing technique. He’d heard rumors about this kind of secret art more than once before, but aside from the Teng Snake statue he’d encountered back in the Jingshan Ruins, no one had ever actually put it into practice. She was the first.
Su Mo casually probed, “Aren’t you going to seize my body? Why are you acting so smitten instead?”
“Who said I was going to seize your body?” She seemed to have had her fill of touching, or maybe she’d just satisfied her curiosity. Her expression turned serious. “I want to swap bodies with you. Otherwise, my original body would just go to waste.”
Su Mo’s heart shook violently, and his chest began to heave. “You have a way to swap bodies?”
Nothing could pique his interest more easily than this. Su Mo was already scheming about how to pry the method from her, even if it meant paying a certain price.
“You seem really interested in this. Looks like you didn’t come into this body willingly and have been wanting to swap back all along.”
Ever since she found out Su Mo was a man, Shuang’er’s tone had become incredibly gentle, just like when they first met, radiating an aura of intelligent elegance.
Su Mo nodded in agreement.
Shuang’er hesitated for a moment, then finally sighed. “Ah, what a shame. I’ve set my heart on this body, otherwise, I’d really consider letting you off the hook. But I can try to help you find your original body later.”
With that, she gave Su Mo one last look, a hint of reluctance on her face. “Little brother, goodbye for now. Just stay in your sister’s body for a while. Once your sister has fulfilled her mission, I’ll help you return to your original body.”
Su Mo was a little allergic to her inexplicable gentleness. Seriously? You’re taking my body this politely? It’s making me feel bad about cursing you out.
His expression turned serious, a flash of determination in his eyes. “Sorry, but I’m not willing. If you try to force this, I won’t hesitate to take you down with me.”
Su Mo didn’t have any abilities right now, but he firmly believed that swapping souls probably wouldn’t succeed easily unless both parties were willing.
To his surprise, Shuang’er didn’t get angry. Instead, she just smiled. “Little brother, you’re so cute, actually daring to challenge your sister. But how could your sister bear to let you die?”
There was even a hint of doting in that smile…
“Heavenly Demon Eye, Swap!”
A powerful suction force yanked Su Mo away, to somewhere unknown.
The moment his soul left his body, Su Mo felt a wave of lightness. When he regained consciousness, he found himself inside Shuang’er’s Sea of Spirit.
Her Sea of Spirit had three massive pillars, and the ocean formed by her spiritual power stretched as far as the eye could see. This was where he would be living from now on.
Although it was a body swap, she didn’t seem to intend to let him take control. His only role now was to keep this body alive.
After all, Shuang’er had the strength to crush Su Mo, likely A-level. Letting Su Mo control her body would just be asking for trouble, right?
However, just as Su Mo was thinking that, his consciousness gradually began to establish a connection with this body. Not only that, he also vaguely felt that his soul hadn’t been completely swapped over. Part of it was still inside Ye Qingyi’s body.
He tried to connect with that part of his soul and, somehow, succeeded against all odds.
He had a hunch that if he wanted to, with just a single thought, he could swap back at any time!
He slowly opened his eyes, and the soft sensation in his arms grew clearer.
She woke up almost at the same time as him. Their eyes met, their noses almost touching.
This was really awkward…
“You, how did you—” Shuang’er was just wondering why Su Mo could control her body when Su Mo easily subdued her. “That’s not right, you should be sealed inside the Sea of Spirit.”
Her tone was full of confusion.
“You don’t know a thing about my abilities. What made you think you could just push me around?” Su Mo gave a cold laugh.
Shuang’er frowned tightly. “No, you must have done something!”
“So what if I did? Hurry up and teach me the method for swapping souls, or don’t blame me for getting rough.”
He looked at the person before him. It was his own self from the past two years, the former Ye Qingyi.
This was the first time he was seeing himself from a third-person perspective.
She was truly beautiful.
“Alright then, let’s see what you can actually do to me. After all, this is your own body. Don’t end up breaking it and making things harder for yourself.” With that, she clung to him playfully, wrapping her arms around Su Mo’s neck, leaning in for a kiss.
This was a scene he’d only ever seen in his dreams, and now it was becoming reality.
But Su Mo wasn’t really interested, because the soul inside was someone else, not the person he loved.
Even though he did feel a flash of excitement for a moment, his eyes immediately turned cold.
“Why so aggressive with your own body?” Shuang’er stopped her movement and let out a charming laugh, which made Su Mo’s heart skip a beat. “Your soul is a man, you know. Don’t you want to— Huh?”
She let out a soft sound of surprise, realizing she couldn’t move.
Su Mo felt the same thing.
Oh no!
With a dizzying, spinning sensation, both of them lost consciousness at the same time. When they woke up again, their souls had somehow returned to their original bodies.
The familiar feeling came back, and Su Mo was overjoyed.
But his joy was short-lived, because Shuang’er was now staring at him with an icy expression. “It failed…”
“It wasn’t my fault! I’m just a newbie, I can’t do anything.” He was telling the truth.
(The truth was only the first part of that sentence. Su Mo would never admit the second part.)
Silence.
He thought Shuang’er was going to bully him again, but instead, she walked out of the bath, put on her clothes, and glanced back at Su Mo, still in the bath. “Get out.”
“You’re… not angry?” Su Mo was a bit surprised.
“It’s just a failure. It was the first time. I was mentally prepared for this. It’s just a bit worse than I expected, that’s all. No need to be angry.”
With her clothes on, she had a noble air about her. The sense of relief in her voice only added to her charm.
Su Mo tiptoed out of the bath. Here was a “female demon” who wouldn’t bat an eye at killing someone, yet right now she was acting like a delicate beauty. Was she being shy because Shuang’er was watching, or was she afraid of slipping on the floor with her bare feet?
It was only after he was fully dressed, shoes and all, and felt a sense of security, that he let out a long sigh of relief. “Phew~”
“Come on, I’ll introduce you to my people.” Shuang’er reached out her hand to him.
Su Mo curled his lip. “You mean that bunch of villagers who tricked me? Already met them. Don’t want to see them again.”
Knowing he was still useful and wouldn’t die for now, he was feeling particularly cocky.
Shuang’er didn’t get angry. Instead, she walked over and took the initiative to hold his hand. “Come on, stinky little brother. The people your sister wants to introduce you to aren’t just a few villagers.”
Su Mo’s big eyes fluttered. His heart felt a little tickled.
