My Amazing WeChat is Connected to the Three Realms - Chapter 24
“His head has suffered multiple heavy blows, likely causing intracranial bleeding. He needs immediate emergency treatment.”
The emergency room couldn’t handle the severity of the situation, so Bald Qiang was rushed directly to the neurosurgery department.
“Take him to the operating room,” the on-duty doctor said after just one glance. He quickly changed into surgical attire and entered the operating room.
Lin Hai and Liu Xinyue waited anxiously outside. After more than two hours, the doctor finally emerged, looking utterly exhausted.
“How is he, Doctor?” Lin Hai asked urgently.
“His life is temporarily out of danger, but there are multiple bleeding points in his skull. The situation is still very critical. The next two days will be crucial. If he can pull through, he’ll survive. If not… there’s nothing more I can do.”
“Brother Qiang, you can’t die!” one of Bald Qiang’s underlings cried out.
“Damn it, I’m going to kill that bastard Hu Wei!”
“Let’s all go together!”
Outside the intensive care unit, Bald Qiang’s underlings, who had rushed over upon hearing the news, were ready to storm out and seek revenge on Hu Wei.
“All of you, come back here!” Lin Hai roared, his eyes blazing with fury.
“Stay here and take care of Bald Qiang!” he ordered before storming out of the hospital.
As he drove, Lin Hai called Liu Liang.
“Liang, how can I find Hu Wei?” Lin Hai’s voice was icy, devoid of any emotion.
“Damn, you’re back? Why are you looking for him?”
“Just tell me how to find him.”
“Hold on, let me ask around.”
A moment later, Liu Liang called back.
“Here’s a number…”
Lin Hai dialed the number Liu Liang had given him.
“Who is this?” Hu Wei’s voice came through, sounding irritated.
“Lin Hai.”
“Lin Hai? You son of a—”
“Cut the crap. Meet me at the small woods south of the city. If you’re a man, come. Don’t be a coward!” Lin Hai hung up before Hu Wei could respond.
Bald Qiang had called him “Master,” and now he was fighting for his life. Lin Hai felt it was his duty to collect some interest on his behalf.
After parking his car, Lin Hai lit a cigarette.
“Hu Wei, I hope you don’t keep me waiting too long.”
Hu Wei didn’t disappoint. Soon, a group of black-clad men armed with clubs appeared in Lin Hai’s line of sight.
“Damn it, Lin Hai! You dare mess with me? I’m going to kill you today! You think you’re tough? I’ve brought thirty brothers from the Black Eagle Gang. If I don’t cripple you, I’ll take your last name!”
Lin Hai didn’t say a word. He calmly finished his cigarette, flicked the butt away, and then—
“Whoosh!”
A series of afterimages trailed behind him as Lin Hai charged into the group like a tiger pouncing on sheep.
The night air was filled with the sounds of agonized screams, sending chills down the spine of anyone who heard them.
These men were undoubtedly tougher than your average street thugs, but compared to Lin Hai, who was at the early stages of innate strength, they were no match.
In less than five minutes, all thirty men were on the ground, unconscious and severely injured.
Lin Hai had taken a few hits himself, but to his current level of physical strength, it felt like nothing more than a scratch.
Hu Wei was utterly terrified. One man taking down thirty? Was this even human?
Lin Hai didn’t care about Hu Wei’s shock. He strode over, slapped Hu Wei to the ground, and then planted his foot on Hu Wei’s chest.
“Lin Hai, you’re dead if you don’t let me go!”
“Still talking tough?” Lin Hai kicked Hu Wei in the ribs. The sound of bones cracking echoed clearly in the night.
“Ahhh!”
Hu Wei, who had never experienced such pain, howled like a wounded animal.
“Lin Hai, you bastard! Do you know who my father is?”
“Bang!”
Lin Hai didn’t respond. He just kicked again.
Another bone broke.
This time, Hu Wei was truly scared. The excruciating pain made his voice tremble.
“Lin Hai, I was wrong. Please, spare me!” Hu Wei finally begged.
“Spare you?” Lin Hai crouched down.
“Bald Qiang is lying in the hospital, fighting for his life, and you want me to spare you?”
Lin Hai’s voice was so cold it sent a shiver down Hu Wei’s spine.
“I’ll pay for his medical bills! I’ll give you and him so much money, more than you could ever spend in a lifetime!”
“Money?” Lin Hai sneered. “You rich people always think money can solve everything. Too bad I don’t need your money right now.”
Lin Hai suddenly grabbed Hu Wei’s hand.
“They say all fingers are connected to the heart. Is that true?”
“Snap!”
“Ahhh!”
Lin Hai broke one of Hu Wei’s fingers. The pain was so intense that Hu Wei passed out.
“I hope Bald Qiang pulls through. Otherwise, breaking a finger will be the least of your worries.”
With Bald Qiang’s小弟们 (underlings) keeping watch, Lin Hai didn’t return to the hospital.
The next day, Lin Hai didn’t even bother trying to grab red packets in the group chat. Competing with those gods in speed was pointless.
After visiting the hospital and seeing that Bald Qiang’s condition was stable, Lin Hai felt slightly relieved.
Just as he was about to take a nap after lunch, his phone rang.
“Brother Hai?” It was Er Dan, one of Bald Qiang’s underlings.
“Brother Hai, you need to come to the hospital. It looks like Brother Qiang isn’t going to make it.”
“What?!” Lin Hai hung up and sped to the hospital, running countless red lights along the way.
“Doctor!” Lin Hai’s face was tense.
“There’s nothing more I can do,” the doctor shook his head.
Lin Hai’s legs went weak.
Although he didn’t have deep feelings for Bald Qiang, the man had genuinely respected him as his “Master.” If Bald Qiang didn’t make it, Lin Hai would be consumed by guilt.
“Doctor Liu, Director Du just returned from a conference in Beijing. He heard about our critical patient and is rushing over without even going home first,” a nurse hurriedly reported.
“Director Du is back?” Doctor Liu’s eyes lit up.
“Quick, prepare the patient for surgery. Get everything ready for Director Du’s arrival.”
After giving instructions, Doctor Liu turned to Lin Hai with a smile. “He’s lucky. Director Du happens to be back. Maybe there’s still hope.”
“Director Du?”
“Director Du is one of the top neurosurgery experts in the country. If even he can’t save him, then no one can.”
Lin Hai felt a surge of hope. It seemed everything now rested on Director Du.
“Where’s the patient?” A man in his fifties appeared in the ward shortly after.
“Director Du, the patient has already been moved to the operating room in anticipation of your arrival,” Doctor Liu quickly replied.
Director Du gave Doctor Liu an approving look. “Good. Come with me and assist.”
Without another word, he headed straight into the operating room.
Lin Hai couldn’t help but admire the man’s professionalism and dedication.
Word of Director Du’s arrival spread quickly, and soon the waiting area outside the operating room was filled with people, all anxiously awaiting the outcome of this battle against death.
After what felt like an eternity, the operating room doors finally opened. Director Du stepped out, looking utterly drained.
Lin Hai’s heart tightened as he rushed over.
“Director Du, how is he?”
