The research on the Nuclear Explosion Pill was temporarily concluded.
The fourth-tier Nuclear Explosion Pill was the limit of what Ye Qingxuan could currently develop.
With his current cultivation level, even with the assistance of his blessed land cave, he couldn’t fully control fifth-tier energy.
Just as he was about to exit seclusion, Ye Qingxuan suddenly paused, and the next second, a delighted expression appeared on his face.
“My second elemental spirit root is finally complete.”
It turned out that over the past three years, the second spirit root gestating inside Ye Qingxuan had finally matured and perfected itself.
Ye Qingxuan couldn’t wait to sense his new spirit root and discovered it was the Metal Spirit Root, one of the five elemental roots.
Ye Qingxuan didn’t particularly care about the attribute of the spirit root; after all, gaining an additional spirit root would increase his cultivation speed by almost the same amount regardless of its type.
The only difference was that the spirit root’s attribute would influence the cultivation of spells and divine abilities of corresponding elements.
Having the matching spirit root allows one to cultivate spells and divine abilities of that attribute with twice the result with half the effort.
But Ye Qingxuan’s exceptional comprehension could completely compensate for this, allowing him to grasp spells and divine powers regardless of spirit root disparities.
What he cared about was simply the boost to his cultivation speed that came with an additional spirit root.
As soon as the second spirit root was formed, Ye Qingxuan couldn’t help but sit cross-legged and test his current cultivation speed.
Feeling the conversion efficiency, now far superior to before under the enhancement of two spirit roots, Ye Qingxuan beamed with joy.
However, this was just the beginning.
Ye Qingxuan took out a fruit crackling with lightning from his storage ring – it was the Lightning Source Fruit given to him by Ye Qingxiao.
Without hesitation, Ye Qingxuan swallowed the fruit directly.
The moment the Lightning Source Fruit was ingested, its violent lightning-woven power instantly spread throughout Ye Qingxuan’s body.
But because this power contained the origin of lightning and was primarily nurturing in nature, combined with the robustness of his second-tier Earth Immortal Body, the fruit’s energy caused him no harm.
“I’m curious to see exactly how the Lightning Source Fruit helps cultivators gestate a spirit root.”
Although Ye Qingxuan knew the Lightning Source Fruit could aid in gestating spirit roots, he didn’t know the specific process, so he was very curious.
With a thought, Ye Qingxuan’s consciousness which was integrated into his essence, energy, and spirit origin, began to focus on the fruit’s origin energy.
He even actively merged his spiritual energy which was infused with his consciousness, with the fruit’s energy, following its flow.
Soon, during his observation, his consciousness, riding the fruit’s origin energy, delved deep into his physical body, arriving at an empty and dim starry sky.
His consciousness, attached to the fruit’s origin energy, was momentarily stunned. The next instant, before he could react.
The origin energy of the Lightning Source Fruit surged towards a dim star in that starry sky.
Nourished by the vast lightning-origin energy, this originally dim star began to emit a brilliant light.
By the time the fruit’s energy was exhausted, that dim star had been successfully ignited, twinkling and illuminating that stretch of the cosmos.
All of this, though seemingly long, happened in the blink of an eye.
As soon as the Lightning Source Fruit’s energy was depleted, Ye Qingxuan’s consciousness was instantly expelled from that space.
Caught off guard, Ye Qingxuan only managed a sweeping glance at that dim starry expanse before his consciousness was completely ejected.
Outside!
After his consciousness returned, Ye Qingxuan sat in a daze, his mind filled with the final image he saw just before being expelled.
Vaguely, Ye Qingxuan seemed to recall that among the countless stars beneath that sky, only three were shining brightly, illuminating that stretch of the cosmos.
“Three lit stars? Could that be… the so-called essence of spirit roots?”
Ye Qingxuan was startled by his own guess, finding it hard to believe.
According to the prevailing theory in the Dizuan Realm, there are only twelve types of spirit roots.
But that starry sky he glimpsed contained at least several thousand stars in total – how could there possibly be that many spirit roots?
No!
Suddenly struck by a thought, Ye Qingxuan murmured softly,
“Several thousand? Three thousand? Spirit roots? Attributes? It seems… not impossible!”
Thinking of this speculation Ye Qingxuan eagerly sat cross-legged again, closed his eyes, and delved his consciousness deep into his body, trying to re-enter that starry space to verify his idea.
But this time, no matter how deeply his consciousness probed, even with the aid of his immortal soul, it could only reach the surface inner universe deep within his physical form.
Looking down from this vantage, the surface inner universe within his body resembled an immensely vast star chart, upon which flowed various elements contained within the human body.
Upon this star chart, there were three very bright veins spreading across it along special pathways.
These three veins were constantly absorbing external energy, continuously converting it into spiritual energy and a milky-white energy, which then integrated into Ye Qingxuan’s physical body.
“So these are my spirit roots?”
Unfortunately, on this star chart, besides these three veins.
Everywhere else, the various elements contained within the physical body were flowing.
These elements circulated between Ye Qingxuan’s various acupuncture points and dark spaces deep within his body, subtly strengthening his physique.
Apart from these, there were no traces of any other veins.
“No!”
It seemed Ye Qingxuan had noticed something else. His consciousness focused entirely on a faint point of light beside the three veins.
This point of light was being nourished by some force, beginning to spread across the star chart at an extremely slow pace. However, under the illumination of the other three shining veins, this spreading appeared very difficult.
“Could this be… my fourth spirit root currently gestating?”
Although framed as a question, Ye Qingxuan’s heart was already quite certain.
Sensing the force nourishing this fourth veins – which was essentially nourishing his spirit root – Ye Qingxuan attempted to merge his consciousness with this force to investigate further.
But unfortunately, he failed.
Whether because this force was too weak, its penetration speed after integrating into the inner universe star chart was not fast, and Ye Qingxuan’s consciousness was directly intercepted by the star chart itself.
Although he wasn’t sure of the ultimate destination of this force, nor how it could subtly nurture a spirit root.
Ye Qingxuan could be certain that beneath the star chart of his inner physical universe, there must exist an unknown space. Perhaps this space was precisely that dim starry sky he had accidentally reached earlier.
“Forget it. My cultivation level is too low now. Even if I figure all this out, it’s probably useless.”
Unable to probe the mysteries of his own body thoroughly, Ye Qingxuan could only comfort himself this way.
Anyway, once he reached a certain level, he was confident he would eventually unravel all these doubts.
As long as he continued cultivating and moving forward, one day he would understand everything.
Taking one last look at the fourth veins slowly spreading across his inner universe star chart, Ye Qingxuan perceived its completion time:
“Twelve hundred years? That’s quite long indeed!”
Then, his consciousness returned to the outside world.
