“Even now, you’re still not telling the truth, Nana… Do you want to die?”
Su Jianguo was furious.
Li Nana, who was being scolded, trembled as she took a jade pendant off her neck. Her hands shaking, she looked uneasily at Li Qiao.
“Master—please, Master, save me… I don’t want to die…” Li Nana’s tears fell in big drops as she prostrated herself in front of Li Qiao, offering up the jade pendant with both hands.
“I was greedy—I was blinded by my own desires. Master, I was wrong.”
She was trembling all over from fear.
Li Qiao picked up the jade pendant from her hand. It was emanating a dark, murky aura. “Something with such heavy yin energy—and you dare wear it on your body. A pendant like this is definitely no ordinary burial object!”
“Tell me, where did you steal it from?” Su Yan grabbed her by the throat. It was all because of her that they had nearly brought disaster upon the entire family.
Li Nana’s face was streaked with tears. “At… at Jade Mountain…”
“Take us there.” Li Qiao narrowed her eyes at her.
Su Yan: “Us?”
“Mm. We’re heading to Jade Mountain.”
“Qiao… it’s still dark out. Why don’t we wait until tomorrow?”
Going to a graveyard in the middle of the night—it was terrifying.
Li Qiao wasn’t in a hurry. She twirled the pendant in her hand and said with an easy smile, “This skeleton isn’t the tomb’s owner. Until you return that thing, don’t expect any peace.”
That settled it.
Su Jianguo immediately shoved Li Nana forward and ordered her to take Li Qiao to Jade Mountain without fail.
And so, the three of them set off together.
Just as their car pulled out past the neighborhood gates, Daoist Qingxu appeared. He looked rushed, and he had come specifically to find Li Qiao.
Before anything else, however, Daoist Qingxu decided to join them on the trip to Jade Mountain.
The moment he opened the car door and caught a glimpse of Li Nana’s face, he let out a series of clicks and tsked. “A face of great calamity.”
Li Nana’s eyes rolled back, and she fainted completely!
“What happened to her?”
“You scared her unconscious.” Li Qiao studied Daoist Qingxu with amusement. He gave an awkward chuckle.
Li Qiao briefly explained the whole chain of events. Stealing a burial object—how many lives did that woman have?
No wonder she had such a disastrous fate.
Soon enough, they arrived at Jade Mountain. Li Nana had already been woken up by Su Yan with a slap. As the four of them reached the burial site, Su Yan turned around and said, “Are you messing with us? This is a cave.”
“This is the place. I’m not lying. When we came here to hang out, this is where I found the pendant.”
“This is indeed the location of the tomb. It doesn’t seem to be the grave of an ordinary person. All of you, be careful. Don’t touch anything inside randomly, and stay close behind me.”
Her expression was grave, and they dared not disobey.
Their lives depended on it.
Li Qiao and Daoist Qingxu walked in front.
The flashlight swept across the cave, revealing countless spider webs hanging from above. The deeper they went, the more eerie it felt. Waves of cold air crept up their backs, and Li Nana lagged behind, moving slowly.
Suddenly, Su Yan turned his head. “Don’t even think about running. You caused this mess.”
“I… I wasn’t trying to leave.”
Under his icy stare, Li Nana stepped ahead of Su Yan. Then, all of a sudden, Li Qiao touched something, and a muffled rumble came from the cave wall.
A hidden stone door slowly swung open!
The sense of unease grew stronger.
After the four entered, the space inside became increasingly spacious. Before them stood a stone tablet.
On it was carved a single line: Trespassers Will Die.
“Can we leave? We can’t go in here—we’ll die.”
“Shut up. You brought this on yourself.”
Su Yan’s voice was cold and harsh.
The one most hurt was Li Nana. She was terrified yet didn’t dare resist—but a glint of malice flickered in her eyes.
Suddenly, Li Nana shoved Li Qiao forward, stepping inside the boundary of the stone tablet. And at that very instant, arrows came flying at her from all directions!
