As soon as Huang Yu gave the order, the soldiers sprang into action and rushed toward Lin Hai.
“Xinyue, get back!” Lin Hai pushed Liu Xinyue inside the door and took the initiative to meet them head-on.
Bang! Crash! Thump!
Lin Hai was soon fighting hand-to-hand with these soldiers.
The longer he fought, the deeper Lin Hai’s frown became.
Although these soldiers were not particularly skilled in combat, their teamwork was exceptional, and each of them was ruthless and deadly, employing all the methods of killing enemies common in the military.
But the most terrifying thing was that none of them feared death. Even after Lin Hai knocked them down, as long as they weren’t dead, they would endure the pain and charge at him again.
Worse still, every time Lin Hai injured one of them, he would suffer a counterattack. In just a short while, he had taken several punches and kicks himself.
Damn it, this fight is unwinnable! Lin Hai cursed under his breath.
If he wanted to win, he’d have to go all out and seriously injure or disable all of them.
But if he did that, he’d really be in big trouble.
What should he do?
After thinking for a moment, Lin Hai hardened his resolve.
To hell with it, I didn’t start this, so why should I hold back?
With that thought, a cold glint flashed in Lin Hai’s eyes.
Just then, a soldier threw a punch. Lin Hai seized the opportunity, grabbed his arm, and with a sharp crack, dislocated the soldier’s shoulder.
The soldier let out a muffled groan but refused to retreat. Enduring the pain, he kicked Lin Hai in the leg—a completely suicidal move designed to take them both down.
“Damn it, these guys are relentless!” Lin Hai cursed again.
It took a lot of effort, but Lin Hai finally used his joint-locking technique to dislocate the arms and legs of all the soldiers. They lay on the ground, faces twisted in pain, but not a single one uttered a sound. They just glared at Lin Hai with fierce determination.
Lin Hai wasn’t in much better shape. His clothes were covered in big boot prints, torn into strips, leaving him looking as disheveled and miserable as possible.
Looking down at his current state, Lin Hai was fuming.
Damn it all, I look like a beggar now.
To make matters worse, there was even a tear right on his butt, exposing his underwear.
Rage surged in his chest as Lin Hai turned his gaze toward Huang Yu and Huang Shan.
Huang Yu stood there stunned, staring at his dozen or so men lying on the ground. He could hardly believe his eyes—his eyeballs nearly popping out.
Huang Shan was even more pathetic, trembling uncontrollably under Lin Hai’s terrifying glare.
Raising an eyebrow, Lin Hai strode purposefully toward the two brothers.
Seeing this, Huang Yu steeled himself, assumed a fighting stance, and charged forward!
Knowing full well the tiger was on the mountain, he still walked straight toward it. Even if charging meant certain death, retreat was not an option.
This was the lesson Huang Yu had been taught since the day he enlisted.
In that regard, Huang Yu could be considered a qualified soldier.
But Lin Hai didn’t care about qualifications. Right now, all he wanted was to beat the hell out of him!
With another sharp crack, Lin Hai dislocated one of Huang Yu’s arms, then kicked him to the ground.
Lin Hai pounced on him, straddling Huang Yu.
“I told you not to start trouble! I told you not to bring your men to ambush me! And look what you did to my clothes—tore them into rags!”
Lin Hai cursed as his fists rained down on Huang Yu’s face like hailstones. In no time, Huang Yu’s head had swollen into a grotesque pig face.
“Let my brother go!” Huang Shan stammered, trembling as he spoke.
“Huh?” Lin Hai snapped his head around and glared at him.
“Let… let him go, please, I…” Huang Shan shuddered, quickly averting his eyes and falling silent.
“Lin Hai, stop hitting him.” Liu Xinyue hurried over and pulled Lin Hai back.
“Whew…” Lin Hai let out a long breath. After that brutal beating, his anger had mostly subsided. He stood up and stepped away from Huang Yu.
“Let’s go, Xinyue. Damn, I need to change clothes immediately.”
Lin Hai walked away, clutching his torn pants near his rear.
“Hmm?” After a couple of steps, he turned back and walked over to Huang Shan.
“What… what do you want?” Huang Shan stammered, terrified.
“Slap!” Lin Hai smacked him across the face.
“Your brother stood up for you and took a beating, and you didn’t even dare to move. You’re pathetic—not even a real man. I despise you!” Lin Hai flipped him off with his middle finger.
“Xinyue, check out my underwear today. Isn’t the pattern nice?”
“Stop it!”
Still clutching his pants, Lin Hai left the supermarket with Liu Xinyue.
Wherever they passed, the gathered crowd quickly parted, their faces filled with awe and respect, making way for them willingly.
In all their lives, this was the first time they’d ever seen anyone stand up to the military and come out on top.
Back at the villa, Lin Hai loaded some more things into his car, then called Bald Qiang and asked him to drive over.
If he went home alone, Lin Hai worried that one car wouldn’t be enough to carry everything.
So he decided to have Bald Qiang come along and help haul some stuff.
At the Military Sub-District Headquarters, Commander’s Office.
Zhan Xiangrong slammed his teapot onto the floor, shattering it into pieces.
Across from him, the Operations Section Chief and the now pig-faced Huang Yu flinched, straightening their postures rigidly.
Zhan Xiangrong paced back and forth, fuming.
Suddenly, he stopped and kicked each of them.
“Damn it! Pah! Don’t you dare tell anyone you’re soldiers under my command from now on! I can’t bear the shame!”
“I don’t mind fighting—how else do you build morale? But an entire guard platoon, led personally by you, the guard company commander, gets beaten up by a single local civilian!”
“My God, how do you still have the nerve to come back alive?!” The angrier Zhan Xiangrong got, the harder he kicked Huang Yu again.
Huang Yu hung his head, his face burning red, not daring to utter a word.
“And you, what kind of operations chief are you, huh? You train soldiers who can’t even defeat an ordinary citizen? What have you been doing all this time? Eating shit every day?!”
The Operations Chief also didn’t dare speak, wiping sweat from his forehead repeatedly.
Zhan Xiangrong paced angrily a couple more times.
“Damn it, I can’t let this slide!”
He reached out and grabbed the Operations Chief by the collar.
“Go! Order the entire guard company to assemble. Have their political instructor lead them. In five minutes, we’re going to fight that guy!”
“As for this company commander, lock him up in solitary confinement!”
“Yes, sir!” The Operations Chief snapped to attention and ran out.
“Commander, I…”
“Get lost!” Zhan Xiangrong kicked Huang Yu straight out the door.
Five minutes later, Zhan Xiangrong, now dressed in camouflage, climbed into a military off-road vehicle. Behind him were two trucks full of fully armed soldiers, sirens blaring, roaring out of the military compound in a mighty procession.
Lin Hai waited about ten minutes. Finally, Bald Qiang arrived at the villa, driving the BMW he had taken from Scarface.
“Hello, Master. Hello, Master’s wife.” Bald Qiang greeted them cheerfully.
Bald Qiang felt incredibly satisfied with his life now.
Ever since he started following Lin Hai, although he was still just a small-time thug, the car he drove had changed dramatically.
Now, wherever Bald Qiang went, he drove this BMW 760Li—a car worth nearly two million—making him feel immensely proud.
Just earlier, Bald Qiang had picked up a girl on the street and was heading to a hotel when Lin Hai called.
Without a second thought, Bald Qiang kicked the girl out of the car and rushed over.
In Bald Qiang’s eyes, matters involving his master Lin Hai always came first.
Even if he was just about to get intimate, he’d stop immediately, pull his pants back up, and rush over without hesitation.
“Come on, follow me home.” Lin Hai didn’t say much, just started his car and led the way.
Bald Qiang quickly followed behind.
Leaving the city, just as they neared the highway entrance, they saw several military vehicles blocking the road.
Lin Hai frowned.
Just as he was about to get out and ask what was happening, a group of fully armed soldiers surrounded him and his car.
“Get out!” a captain shouted, slamming his hand hard on the hood of the car.
