Before dawn, a car was already parked at the entrance of the villa community where Lin Hai’s home was.
Yuan Yingyu sat in the car. Although no one had even come in or out of the villa community yet, those small eyes were still fixed intently on the entrance, afraid of missing anything.
“Boss, Secretary Hou only said to wait here, but didn’t say who we’re waiting for. How are we supposed to know which one is the person we’re looking for?” the driver asked cautiously.
“How the hell should I know? But other than this, is there any other way?” Yuan Yingyu grumbled. Right now, all he could do was wait here. Maybe once he saw the person, he’d remember.
“Dad, today’s the weekend. Let me take you out for a walk,” Lin Hai said after breakfast, seeing that Lin Wen was feeling down. He figured his father was still upset about losing face yesterday, so he hurried over to suggest it.
“Ah… alright.” Lin Wen happened to want some fresh air too. The father and son left the villa, chatting as they walked out of the villa community.
“Boss, someone else is coming out!” the driver quickly reminded him.
Yuan Yingyu was almost in despair. Many people had already come out this morning. Every time someone appeared, he’d perk up and try to recognize them, but every time the result was the same—he had never seen any of them before, not even a trace of recognition.
Hearing the driver’s reminder, Yuan Yingyu listlessly raised his head and looked toward the entrance.
“Hm?” When Yuan Yingyu saw Lin Wen, he suddenly froze. “Isn’t that the old country bumpkin who was taken away by Wang Meng before? Why would he be coming out of the villa community?”
“Damn!” The next moment, Yuan Yingyu suddenly realized what was going on.
“Holy crap, it was actually him! No wonder Wang Meng was willing to offend Captain Liu for the sake of some old geezer from the countryside. Turns out this old man was playing the pig to eat the tiger!”
Once he understood, Yuan Yingyu pushed open the car door and rushed over.
Lin Wen was walking and chatting happily with Lin Hai when he saw a man charging toward him like the wind, which gave him quite a fright.
When he got a clear look at the man’s face, Lin Wen’s eyes went wide.
“Well now! Yesterday you wrongly accused me and even kicked me, and today you’re still not done? You’ve even come to block my door!” Lin Wen was so angry his lungs were about to explode.
He was just about to charge over and fight Yuan Yingyu when, unexpectedly, with a thud, Yuan Yingyu dropped to his knees right in front of him.
“Uh…” Lin Wen was stunned. What was this about?
Yuan Yingyu didn’t say anything. He just raised his hands and started slapping himself across the face, crack, crack, crack.
“Elder, I’m not a human being. I’m a bastard. I’ve come to apologize to you.” Yuan Yingyu had really gone all out this time. Both of his cheeks were swollen from his own slaps.
“Apologize to me?” Lin Wen was completely confused. This boss hadn’t seemed like such a reasonable person yesterday.
“Elder, I was wrong yesterday. I was confused for a moment and made you angry. I’ll never dare do it again. Please forgive me just this once, I’m begging you.” As Yuan Yingyu spoke, thinking about how terrified he’d been from yesterday until now, a wave of grievance suddenly welled up in his heart, and tears came streaming down.
“Hmph!” If Yuan Yingyu hadn’t brought up yesterday, it might have been fine, but the moment he did, Lin Wen turned his head away.
In Lin Wen’s heart, he felt far more wronged than Yuan Yingyu did.
Seeing Lin Wen like this, Yuan Yingyu panicked. He quickly scrambled forward on his knees and grabbed hold of Lin Wen’s leg.
“Elder, elder, I’m begging you, just forgive me this once. As long as you forgive me, I’ll do anything you want.” Yuan Yingyu pleaded with snot and tears running down his face.
“Anything I want, really?” Lin Wen suddenly turned his head and asked doubtfully.
“Really, truer than pearls!” Yuan Yingyu’s heart leaped with joy when he saw there was a chance. He quickly nodded again and again.
“Hmph, I’ll let that kick slide, but you falsely accused me of being a thief, and that’s not over. You have to compensate me for my emotional damage,” Lin Wen said angrily.
“Yes, yes, yes, no problem. Just tell me how much money you want,” Yuan Yingyu said quickly with a fawning smile.
“Hmph, I don’t want money. I want you to restore my reputation in public,” Lin Wen said, sticking out his neck.
“H-how do I restore it?” Yuan Yingyu was stunned by what Lin Wen said.
“Hmph, go back to the entrance of your supermarket and explain the whole thing clearly in front of everyone.”
When his supermarket was mentioned, Yuan Yingyu immediately felt bitter. Damn it, such a good supermarket, and because of you, you old geezer, it’s been shut down completely.
“Alright, alright, no problem. We can go right now.” Yuan Yingyu was resentful inside, but he didn’t dare show it on his face. He quickly spoke up.
“Let’s go, Xiao Hai. Come with me.”
“Okay, Dad.” Lin Hai nodded.
Seeing this, Yuan Yingyu quickly ran to his car and opened the door.
“Elder, please ride in my car,” Yuan Yingyu said, bowing and scraping by the car door.
“Hmph, my son has his own car, and it’s much better than yours. Xiao Hai, go bring your car out.” Lin Wen shot Yuan Yingyu a disdainful look.
Lin Hai smiled faintly. His father’s personality—he always liked to show off to everyone.
“Okay, Dad. Wait here for me.”
Before long, Lin Hai drove out that Porsche Cayenne.
“How about it? Isn’t it much better than yours?” Lin Wen glanced disdainfully at Yuan Yingyu’s Audi A6, then proudly opened the Cayenne’s passenger door and got in.
“Yes, yes, yes, much better.” Yuan Yingyu could only smile along.
“Let’s go, lead the way.” Lin Hai also got in the car and said to Yuan Yingyu.
“Alright, alright, I’ll lead the way up front.” Yuan Yingyu quickly got into his own car and told the driver to go.
The two cars went one after the other, and in less than half an hour, they arrived at the entrance of Shunfa Supermarket.
The moment Lin Wen got out of the car, he was stunned.
“Your supermarket got sealed up? Haha, well sealed…” Lin Wen felt a surge of satisfaction.
“Sealed your sister!” Yuan Yingyu felt depressed. “Wasn’t this done by you people? What are you pretending for?”
“Elder, what do you think we should do next?” Yuan Yingyu now only wanted to satisfy Lin Wen as much as possible, because only then might his three businesses be able to reopen.
Otherwise, the foundation he’d worked half his life to build would be finished.
“What do you mean, what should we do? Of course gather people and restore my reputation,” Lin Wen said with a snort, still angry.
“Alright, alright, I’ll do it right away.” Yuan Yingyu nodded and bowed with a smile.
Then, straightening up, Yuan Yingyu walked to the center of the area in front of the supermarket.
“Everyone passing by, please spare me a moment of your time!” Yuan Yingyu clapped his hands and shouted loudly toward the passersby.
The supermarket entrance was in a busy district, so there was a fairly large flow of people. As soon as Yuan Yingyu called out, several curious people immediately stopped.
Before long, dozens of people had gathered at the entrance.
Seeing that it was about enough, Yuan Yingyu quickly jogged over to Lin Wen.
“Elder, do you think this is about enough people?” Yuan Yingyu said with an awkward smile.
“Hmph, it’ll do, I guess. Then let’s begin,” Lin Wen said with a snort.
“Okay, okay.” Yuan Yingyu answered, then turned to face the crowd.
“I am the owner of Shunfa Supermarket. I’ve gathered everyone here for one matter!”
