With My Ability To Swap, I Will Never End Up In A Love Triangle Mess - Chapter 3
“Um, please don’t use my voice to say such strange things.”
A soft, delicate voice echoed in Xia Xi’s mind—timid and utterly non-threatening.
Is this the original owner of the body? So, a one-way swap results in both consciousnesses coexisting?
“Ah… you can’t hear me?” When Xia Xi didn’t respond, the sweet voice grew slightly dejected. “Could I be sleepwalking? But why would I say something so embarrassing…?”
Listening to the chatter in his head, Xia Xi snapped out of his flustered state.
“I can hear you,” he replied calmly, staring at his reflection in the mirror.
“Huh?! You’re talking to me?” The girl’s voice sounded dazed, as if she couldn’t believe it.
“So it wasn’t sleepwalking after all…” After a brief pause, she spoke again, this time with a hint of nervousness. “My name is Luo Xinyu. Are you… one of those wizards from the movies? The evil kind who possess people’s bodies for sinister schemes?”
This young lady was far more naïve than Xia Xi had expected—her question sounded almost childishly innocent.
Still, he didn’t mind playing along.
“Heh heh heh, so you’ve seen through my identity already?
Indeed, I am the mighty Grand Sorcerer Chenxi, the most powerful under the Heavenly Emperor’s command! My specialty is targeting beautiful young girls like you for my evil plans!”
He expected Luo Xinyu to tremble and beg for mercy, but instead, she simply let out a soft hmph, her tone laced with skepticism.
“You’re lying.”
“I’m not,” Xia Xi insisted. “I really do have an evil plan.”
Hearing this, the girl hesitated.
“Can… can you tell me what it is? Please?”
There we go—that pleading tone! Here was a rich young lady, begging him for answers.
“Heh. My plan is simple.” Xia Xi wheeled the chair toward the private bathroom attached to her room. “I’m going to make you… squeaky clean.”
“?!”
“Um… when you bathe, can you not… do anything weird?” Her voice was tiny, almost like a negotiation—or a plea. “My health isn’t great, and if you do… those things, I might faint. It’d be really troublesome…”
She still hadn’t grasped the severity of the situation. Instead of protesting the idea of him bathing in her body, she was only asking him to behave.
Seeing her reaction, Xia Xi lost interest in teasing her.
“Alright, alright. Geez, you’re way too trusting. Good thing I’m not the type to take advantage of a girl’s body. If it were someone else, you’d have been devoured already.”
Luo Xinyu immediately caught the key detail in his words.
“I’m hardly some young lady… Wait! ‘You girls’? You’re not a girl?!”
And judging by his phrasing… he might just be an ordinary person who somehow gained control over her body.
“Yeah? When did I say I wasn’t male?” Xia Xi admitted freely. It wasn’t like she could do anything about it, and besides, he hadn’t revealed anything beyond his gender. There was no way she could track him down with just that.
“I heard boys are all slaves to their lower halves. No wonder you kept glancing at my chest earlier.”
Her reaction was far calmer than Xia Xi expected.
Shouldn’t most girls panic and scream “Pervert!” upon learning a guy had taken over their body? Why did she sound… happy?
Is this young lady’s brain wired differently?
“Why aren’t you saying anything?”
When Xia Xi remained silent and simply wheeled back to the desk, Luo Xinyu grew anxious.
“Did I scare you?” Unexpectedly, her voice carried a hint of meekness. “I’m sorry. Even if you’re a boy, it’s fine. I just… wanted someone to talk to…”
Suddenly, as if struck by inspiration, her voice brightened into a playful whine: “Oh! You wanted to use my body to skate, right? Go ahead! But after that, you have to chat with me, okay? Consider it payment~”
“Why?”
Xia Xi stared at the delicate face reflected in the small mirror on the desk, utterly baffled.
“Huh?” Luo Xinyu sounded confused.
“Why don’t you value your own body?”
Her home was undeniably luxurious—likely a villa. If not for that, Xia Xi might’ve assumed she was some indecent woman offering herself up.
After all, no decent person would willingly expose themselves to a stranger.
“Because I’m disabled,” she replied matter-of-factly. “You’ve seen it—I can’t walk, and I’m always sick. A body like mine isn’t worth much, right? So I might as well trade it for some company. After all… you’re my first friend.”
Xia Xi had wondered from the start—if she was this wealthy, why didn’t she get prosthetic legs?
And… since when were we friends?
“I never agreed to be your friend,” he said bluntly.
Silence.
After a long pause, her voice returned, trembling slightly. “I’m sorry. I thought… since we exchanged names, we were friends. That was presumptuous of me.”
Names? She meant the fake one he’d made up—Chenxi?
“Wait, don’t cry—”
Xia Xi panicked. He had no idea how to comfort people, and he’d assumed her innocence was just an act to extract more information from him—maybe even to track him down later.
But now, it seemed… she really was different from what he’d imagined.
In this house, she was like a songbird with clipped wings—one that had never seen the outside world, never had a true friend. Nothing like the spoiled heiress he’d pictured.
“Ah, I was just teasing you earlier! Of course we’re friends. We did exchange names, after all.”
Hearing his own voice—no, her voice—speak in such a gentle, soothing tone felt bizarre. That sweet, soft voice… was he really the one producing it? Ugh, creepy…
“Really? We’re friends?!”
Instantly, Luo Xinyu’s voice shifted from tearful to elated, though it still quivered slightly from crying.
“Of course! Chenxi never lies.”
