Super Doctor - Chapter 124
“Brother… where did you get this car? Did that Grandpa Tang from last time give it to you?” Aside from Xu Hao, the basketball-obsessed youngest sibling, all the Xu children were exceptionally sharp. Xu Qing’er eyed the sleek sports car excitedly before turning to her brother with curiosity.
Xu Ze shrugged and grinned. “Yeah… Grandpa Tang gave it to me.”
“Wow! He even gave you this car?” Qing’er’s eyes widened. “Brother, why is he so nice to you?”
“I saved his life once, then cured him of a really stubborn illness. In return, he helped me out of a big mess and pretty much forced me to become his god-grandson.” Xu Ze chuckled, then added, “Oh, and he also gave me a huge apartment and, well… a card that lets me buy pretty much anything.”
“He forced you to be his god-grandson?” Qing’er knew her brother had a talent for medicine, but this was something else. She burst into laughter, covering her mouth. “If being his god-grandson gets you all this, then Brother, you have to introduce me! Maybe he’ll adopt me as his god-granddaughter too!”
“Haha, sure. Next time you come with me, just keep calling him ‘Grandpa’ nonstop. I bet he’ll have to give you a gift.”
The Maserati crept forward through the crowd, drawing envious glances—especially from Normal University students, many of whom recognized Qing’er, the school’s resident prodigy.
Countless girls watched her sitting in the sports car beside Xu Ze, their eyes burning with jealousy. “So much for being the ‘purest girl in Normal University,’ the one no one could chase. Turns out all it took was a fancy car to sweep her off her feet. Who’s she trying to fool?”
But those words stayed locked in their throats. Everyone knew Qing’er had plenty of admirers on campus, and crossing her meant trouble.
Polytechnic University wasn’t far—just a couple of turns within the university district. As the gates came into view, Xu Ze said, “Qing’er, call Xiao Hao. Tell him to come out quick.”
Xu Hao was the youngest in the family, but unlike the old Xu Ze, he was a tall, broad-shouldered eighteen-year-old with thick eyebrows and bright eyes—the picture of a sunny, athletic guy. And unlike Xu Ze, he already had a petite, devoted girlfriend by his side.
But right now, Xu Hao’s face was stormy as he glared at a car parked opposite him, flanked by two guys and a girl.
“Lin Wei, forget it. Let me take you home instead,” said a guy with a hawkish nose, leaning out of the driver’s window. “If you wait for Xu Hao… pfft. With this crowd, good luck even catching a taxi.”
The girl beside Xu Hao—delicate and sweet-faced—shook her head. “Wu Bing, just go. Xu Hao’s brother is coming to pick us up.”
“Hah! What kind of car could his family possibly have?” Wu Bing sneered, shooting Xu Hao a dismissive glance. “Lin Wei, don’t believe his nonsense. Come with us.”
“What car my family has is none of your business!” Xu Hao’s fists clenched, his face flushing with anger. “I said I’d take Lin Wei home. Back off!”
“None of my business? You little—” Wu Bing shoved the car door open and stormed out. “A country bumpkin like you, chasing girls in our department? Watch your mouth!”
Xu Hao’s eyes flashed. He lunged forward, fist raised, but Lin Wei grabbed his arm. Her delicate face hardened as she snapped at Wu Bing, “Leave us alone!”
Wu Bing ignored her, taunting, “What does a hick like you have to offer her? You think—”
Before he could finish, Xu Hao wrenched free and swung.
Wu Bing dodged, but the graze still stung. His eyes lit up—he’d been waiting for an excuse to beat this guy senseless. With his buddy in the car, two against one was easy.
As fists flew, Lin Wei screamed, “Stop! Both of you, stop!”
But the fight only escalated. Wu Bing’s friend jumped in, yanking Xu Hao’s collar from behind and sending him crashing to the ground. Soon, all three were rolling in the dirt, Wu Bing and his friend taking cheap shots whenever they could.
Lin Wei watched helplessly, tears streaming.
By the time Xu Ze spotted the commotion at the gates, Xu Hao was already pinned, taking hits.
The sight of his little brother—bruised, struggling—sent a surge of rage through Xu Ze. His vision tinted red, blood roaring in his ears.
The Maserati’s engine snarled as he slammed the accelerator.
Tires screeched as the car skidded to a stop. Xu Ze vaulted out before it fully halted.
One stride. Two.
His palm cracked against the face of Wu Bing’s friend, sending the guy sprawling, blood and teeth spraying.
Inside the virtual space, alarms blared:
[WARNING: Host’s mental energy exceeding thresholds. Cognitive control compromised.]
Xu Ze barely registered it. His fingers closed around Wu Bing’s throat, lifting him like a ragdoll before slamming him into the side of his own car.
THUD.
Wu Bing crumpled, gasping.
The crowd gasped.
Xu Ze stalked forward, seized both boys by their collars, and hoisted them effortlessly into the air.
Their faces purpled as they clawed at his unyielding grip.
Then—Wu Bing met Xu Ze’s eyes.
Oh god.
Those weren’t human eyes. Just twin pools of blood, brimming with something primal.
He’s going to kill us.
Just as the edges of their vision darkened, a voice cut through Xu Ze’s fury:
[Xu. Xu! Snap out of it! You’ll murder them at this rate!]
Xu Ze blinked. The red haze lifted.
He dropped them.
They collapsed, wheezing, scrambling backward like terrified crabs.
“If either of you ever mess with Xu Hao again—”
“N-never! We swear!” they choked out.
Satisfied, Xu Ze exhaled. The last traces of crimson faded from his eyes.
When he turned to Xu Hao, his expression was warm, gentle—as if the monster from seconds ago had never existed.
“Xiao Hao… you okay?”
Xu Hao rubbed his bruised face, grinning sheepishly. “Yeah. Just a couple of bumps.”
The crowd stared, slack-jawed.
The guy who’d just dangled two people like grocery bags… was now smiling like a harmless college student?
Same person?
In the virtual space, Xiao Dao sighed.
Ever since that last mental overload, Xu Ze’s subconscious influence has grown stronger. Especially when he loses control—his emotions bleed into others’ perceptions.
We need to train his mental discipline. Fast.
Next time he snaps like this… it won’t end with just a warning.
