My Amazing WeChat is Connected to the Three Realms - Chapter 70
As he stared at Chu Liner floating before him, her feet off the ground and her eyes blazing with fury, Lin Hai finally realized why she looked so familiar.
Holy shit! Isn’t this the Black Impermanence from the day I saved Xiao Yi? The same one whose ass I groped and whose chest I accidentally grabbed?!
“You little thief! Give me your life!” Chu Liner, enraged by the memory, let out a furious cry and lunged at him with burning anger.
“Damn it, run!” Lin Hai yelped before turning tail and bolting back into the house.
“Stop right there!” Chu Liner chased after him relentlessly.
Wait… something’s not right. Didn’t this female ghost fail to hit me last time? Lin Hai suddenly remembered.
Dammit! Then why the hell am I scared?
If she couldn’t touch him, but he could touch her, shouldn’t she be the one afraid of him?
With that thought, Lin Hai abruptly stopped and spun around, a mischievous grin on his face.
“Ah!” Chu Liner, caught off guard by his sudden halt, couldn’t stop in time.
BAM! She crashed straight into Lin Hai’s chest.
The peachwood sword hanging from Lin Hai’s neck emitted a bright light, creating a barrier between them—though the gap was less than a centimeter, making it look like they were pressed right against each other.
The force of the impact sent Lin Hai stumbling backward. Instinctively, he reached out to grab something for balance.
Huh? So soft… and so fragrant!
He looked down and nearly choked. Holy crap, how did I end up hugging this ghost?!
Chu Liner’s curvaceous body was now pressed tightly against his chest. The protective light from the peachwood sword vanished the moment Lin Hai actively reached for her.
“Mmm…” A wave of intense masculine energy washed over Chu Liner, making her limbs go weak. For a brief moment, she didn’t want to move—she just wanted to stay like this, wrapped in his arms.
Lin Hai was just as stunned.
Holding her had been purely instinctive, but now that her delicate body was in his embrace, an unfamiliar warmth surged in his chest, making him reluctant to let go.
Holy shit, Dad! You’re even flirting with ghosts now? That’s next-level!
Ahua’s voice echoed in both Lin Hai and Chu Liner’s minds.
“Ah!” Chu Liner snapped back to reality.
“Go die, you bastard!” THUD! Her knee slammed straight into Lin Hai’s crotch.
“GODDAMN IT!” Lin Hai howled in pain, doubling over as he clutched his groin.
Fuck, that hurts! He swore his balls were about to shatter.
“You little thief! Give me your life!” Humiliated by the memory of being held by him, Chu Liner lunged again, her claws aiming for his throat.
BUZZ! The peachwood sword glowed once more, blocking her hand just a centimeter from Lin Hai’s neck.
Gritting her teeth, Chu Liner pushed with all her might, but she couldn’t advance even a fraction further.
“Ugh!” Finally, she gave up, plopping down on the floor, panting heavily as she glared daggers at Lin Hai.
It took Lin Hai a while to recover.
“Hey, listen, this is all just a misunderstanding. You didn’t have to chase me all the way from Yanjing to Jiangnan.”
“Hmph!” Chu Liner ignored him.
Lin Hai rolled his eyes. Fine, be like that.
“Alright, I’m going to sleep. You should leave.”
“Not a chance! I won’t go until I’ve chopped off those filthy hands of yours!” Chu Liner snarled, her face a mask of fury.
Yet, her anger only accentuated her strikingly beautiful features, giving her a strangely alluring charm.
Lin Hai gulped.
Damn, this ghost is seriously seductive.
“You’re not leaving? Fine, sit there all night. I’m going to bed.” Since she couldn’t touch him, Lin Hai sauntered into the inner room without a care.
In seconds, he stripped down to his underwear.
“Hey! Get back out here!” Chu Liner stormed in after him.
“AHH!” The moment she saw him, she shrieked and covered her eyes.
“You pervert! Put your clothes back on!” She spun around, refusing to look.
“I’m going to sleep. Why would I wear clothes?” Lin Hai shrugged.
“You—! Just put them on! I have questions!” Chu Liner stomped her foot in frustration.
“Fine, I’m dressed. Ask away.” Lin Hai was admittedly curious about her too.
After all, the underworld and spirits were things mortals both feared and wondered about.
Chu Liner turned back—only to shriek again.
“You liar! You’re still half-naked!”
“Relax, you’ve already seen everything. What’s the harm in another look?” Lin Hai yawned.
“Hmph!” To his surprise, Chu Liner actually turned back around.
“Wait… you’re okay with it now?” Lin Hai blinked.
“Yep.” She flashed a sweet smile that sent his heart racing—before delivering chilling words:
“After all, I’m going to kill you soon anyway. You’ll be condemned to the cycle of hell for a hundred lifetimes. Why should I care about a dead man walking?”
What the hell?!
Lin Hai broke out in a cold sweat.
What kind of grudge is this?! All I did was grope your butt and accidentally touch your chest! Is that worth eternal damnation?!
He rolled his eyes and turned away, ignoring her.
A moment later, Chu Liner spoke again.
“Hey… how can you see me? And talk to me? Were you born with Yin-Yang eyes, or did you learn some kind of mystic art?”
“Tripped during a night walk last year. Woke up like this.” Lin Hai lied without hesitation.
No way he’d tell the truth to someone who wanted him dead.
“Oh? So you stumbled into the ghostly fate,” Chu Liner murmured, as if realizing something.
“Ghostly fate?” Lin Hai stiffened.
Wait, did my random excuse actually hit the mark?
“What about this dog?” She pointed at Ahua.
“Same. Tripped with me.”
“Dogs can stumble into ghostly fate too?” Chu Liner looked baffled.
“And what about the Golden Needle Soul Revival technique? How did you learn that?”
“Duh. Same trip.”
“WHAT?!” Lin Hai’s casual reply sent shockwaves through Chu Liner.
In an instant, she lunged at him again.
“Whoa, not again!” Lin Hai immediately shielded his groin—that last hit had left a lasting impression.
Chu Liner pressed so close their noses almost touched, her voice trembling with urgency.
“Where is this place?! Tell me! Now!”
Lin Hai was bewildered. Why is she so worked up?
Gazing at her stunning, otherworldly face just inches away, his throat went dry. If she weren’t a ghost, I’d kiss her right now.
“You really want to know?”
“Yes! This is beyond important—more than you can imagine!”
Holy crap.
Her intensity threw him off. I was just making shit up!
“Come on, where is it?!” she pressed.
“Okay, fine. Truth is, I made it all up. There’s no such place.”
Better to come clean—who knew what kind of supernatural mess he’d stir up with lies?
“Made it up? You expect me to believe that?” she hissed.
“I’m serious! I’m not lying!”
“Then tell me the truth!”
“There is no truth! I was just messing around!”
“Fine. If you won’t talk, I’m not leaving. I’ll follow you 24/7.”
With that, she flopped onto the bed beside him.
Lin Hai wanted to cry.
Damn it! Since when does telling the truth backfire like this?!
