My Amazing WeChat is Connected to the Three Realms - Chapter 35
Huang Shan’s stone revealed a patch of green as soon as the first shallow cut was made.
The onlookers immediately got excited, as if the stone belonged to them.
Huang Shan’s face lit up with joy. “Keep cutting!”
The stone-cutting master scooped a ladle of water and splashed it onto the stone, making the green even more vivid.
Ye Ziyu, standing nearby, sighed inwardly, feeling a bit regretful.
At the same time, he glanced at the stone in front of Lin Hai. After the first cut, there was nothing but gray. He shook his head slightly.
Lin Hai, however, remained calm and composed, his eyes fixed on the stone.
“Master, keep cutting,” Lin Hai instructed.
“Brother, I’ll give you 100,000 for this stone. How about it?”
“I’ll offer 150,000. If you sell it to me now, you’ll make a clean profit of over 100,000 with zero risk.”
The crowd had already started bidding, eager to buy Huang Shan’s stone.
“No, I won’t sell it. No matter the price!” Huang Shan’s grin stretched from ear to ear.
Meanwhile, Lin Hai’s stone underwent another cut, but it was still just gray, showing no signs of promise.
“Rise, rise, give me a big rise!” Huang Shan’s eyes were glued to his stone, his excitement palpable.
Crack! Another cut was made.
“What the hell?!” The crowd was stunned.
Contrary to everyone’s expectations, Huang Shan’s stone didn’t reveal a rich green. Instead, it was just a dull gray. The earlier hint of green had been a mere illusion, as thin as a strand of hair.
“What the hell is going on?” Huang Shan felt like he’d been doused with cold water, his heart sinking.
“Keep cutting!” Huang Shan shouted, unwilling to give up.
Several more cuts were made, but the stone remained a monotonous gray.
Finally, the stone was reduced to a pile of rubble.
“Boo!” The crowd erupted in jeers.
“Damn, I thought it was going to be a big win.”
“Thank God the guy didn’t sell it to me, or I’d be out of luck!”
Huang Shan’s face turned ashen. The stone had looked so promising—how could it be worthless?
He glanced over at Lin Hai’s stone, which was also showing nothing but gray. Huang Shan felt a bit better.
If his stone hadn’t produced anything, there was no way that idiot Lin Hai’s stone would.
“Damn, it’s rising!” Just as Huang Shan was thinking this, a shout from behind startled him.
The crowd surged toward Lin Hai’s stone.
“Holy crap, look at that green!”
“How could such a crappy stone produce green? This is unbelievable!”
“Brother, sell it to me for 200,000!”
“I’ll give you 300,000!”
The same two people who had tried to buy Huang Shan’s stone were now bidding on Lin Hai’s.
A faint smile appeared on Lin Hai’s face.
Huang Shan was fuming, his nose practically twisting in anger.
“Hmph, don’t celebrate too early,” he muttered under his breath.
No one paid attention to his sour comment. All eyes were on Lin Hai’s stone.
Crack!
With the final cut, a palm-sized piece of jade was revealed.
“Holy crap, that’s a big one!”
“Bro, are you selling? Name your price!”
“Brother, I’m from Zhenmei Jewelry. We’d like to buy this piece. Name your price.”
Lin Hai smiled at the crowd and said, “Don’t rush. I still need to pick a few more stones. I’ll sell them all together later.”
“Pfft, as if every stone you pick will produce jade,” Huang Shan sneered, clearly annoyed.
Lin Hai glanced at Huang Shan and thought coldly, I’m here to settle the score for my friend. If I don’t screw you over, it’d be a waste.
Ye Ziyu looked at the two piles of rubble on the ground, then at Lin Hai, his expression one of surprise.
“Xiao Hai, it seems you’re quite the expert when it comes to stones.”
“Brother Ye, you flatter me. This is actually my first time.”
Ye Ziyu rolled his eyes. First time? Yeah, right.
Lin Hai shrugged. Why didn’t anyone believe him when he told the truth?
“Come on, Brother Ye, let’s pick a few more.”
Ye Ziyu was curious whether Lin Hai was genuinely skilled or just lucky.
After walking around the stone piles, Lin Hai picked out three more stones.
Just as Lin Hai was about to pay, Ye Ziyu stopped him.
“Wait, Xiao Hai. Let me pay for these. If they turn out well, the profit is yours. If not, the loss is on me.”
Out of the three stones Lin Hai had picked, Ye Ziyu wasn’t optimistic about two of them. Yet, he still offered to pay. For someone he’d just met, Ye Ziyu was being incredibly generous.
Lin Hai couldn’t keep letting Ye Ziyu pay. They’d only met twice, and Ye Ziyu had already been more than kind.
But seeing the determination in Ye Ziyu’s eyes, Lin Hai knew there was no point arguing.
“Alright, Brother Ye. You pay, and if we make a profit, we split it. If we lose, it’s on you.”
“Haha, deal!”
The three stones were moved to the cutting machine, and the crowd gathered around once more.
“Start cutting,” Lin Hai said calmly.
“Pfft, acting all high and mighty. As if luck will always be on your side,” Huang Shan muttered, but he still joined the crowd.
“Holy crap, it’s rising!”
“This one too!”
“And this one! This one’s rising too!”
Soon, the crowd was in an uproar.
Ye Ziyu’s jaw dropped as he stared at Lin Hai like he was some kind of monster.
“Xiao Hai, were you born from a rock or something? How are you so good at this?”
“Brother Ye, if I were born from a rock, I’d be a monkey!”
Lin Hai was in a good mood. Together with the earlier piece, he sold the jade for over three million.
When it came to splitting the money, Ye Ziyu refused to take any. After some insistence, he reluctantly accepted one million.
Lin Hai then transferred 500,000 each to Liu Liang and Wang Peng.
“Sharing is caring!” Lin Hai said with a smile.
Lin Hai’s generosity made the onlookers green with envy. They swarmed around him, trying to befriend him.
Damn, with a friend like this, becoming rich is just a matter of time!
“Thanks, Xiao Hai!” Liu Liang, though already well-off, was deeply moved by the gesture.
Wang Peng, on the other hand, was completely stunned. He kept checking his phone, muttering something incomprehensible.
“Xiao Hai, Brother Ye hit the jackpot today thanks to you.”
“Haha, good brothers share the wealth!”
Huang Shan, watching Lin Hai and his friends bask in their success, was seething with anger.
“Huh?” Lin Hai suddenly turned his head, his eyes locking onto a large, towering stone.
The crowd fell silent, curious about what had caught his attention.
Lin Hai quickly walked over to the stone, touching it here and there, his face lighting up with excitement.
“Boss, I’ll take this stone. 500,000!”
The crowd erupted.
A stone, priced at 500,000 without even being cut? Unprecedented!
But considering Lin Hai’s previous success, everyone quickly realized that this stone must contain something incredibly valuable.
“I’ll offer 550,000!” someone immediately shouted, unable to resist.
“600,000!”
“650,000!”
“1,000,000!” Lin Hai called out.
The crowd went wild again.
But without knowing what was inside, no one dared to bid higher.
Seeing no further bids, Lin Hai’s face lit up with joy.
“Boss, let’s settle the payment!”
“Wait!”
Huang Shan stepped forward.
“I’ll offer 1.1 million!”
Lin Hai’s face instantly changed.
“1.2 million!”
“1.5 million!” Huang Shan, seeing Lin Hai’s reaction, was convinced that the stone must contain something extraordinary.
“Brother Huang, could you do me a favor? I picked this stone first,” Lin Hai said with a forced smile, trying to appeal to Huang Shan.
“Hmph, first come, first served doesn’t apply here. The highest bidder wins!”
“This…” Lin Hai looked torn, then gritted his teeth as if making a difficult decision.
“Damn it, I’ll offer 5 million!”
The crowd went berserk.
Bidding 5 million on an uncut stone? This thing might contain imperial jade!
Huang Shan was momentarily stunned. He hadn’t expected Lin Hai to bid so high.
But the higher the bid, the more valuable the stone must be.
Gritting his teeth, Huang Shan stepped forward.
“6 million!”
“This is insane!”
“Are we really bidding millions on an uncut stone?”
After Huang Shan’s bid, Lin Hai fell silent.
Ye Ziyu, thinking Lin Hai had run out of money, was about to step in.
“7…” he started, but Lin Hai grabbed his arm.
Ye Ziyu looked puzzled.
“Xiao Hai, if you’re short on cash, I’ll cover it. We can’t let this stone slip away.”
After everything that had happened, Ye Ziyu had complete faith in Lin Hai’s judgment. If Lin Hai was so determined to get this stone, there had to be a good reason.
Lin Hai didn’t respond but gave Ye Ziyu a meaningful look.
Ye Ziyu paused, then understood, his expression turning strange.
Ignoring him, Lin Hai turned to Huang Shan with a pained expression.
“Damn it, I don’t have enough cash. I guess it’s your lucky day, Brother Huang.”
“Haha, then I won’t hold back!” Huang Shan, seeing that Lin Hai wasn’t going to bid higher, was overjoyed.
If the price had gone any higher, even he wouldn’t have been able to afford it.
He quickly paid the ecstatic boss and barked at the workers, “What are you waiting for? Get this stone to the cutting machine!”
Lin Hai, standing to the side, couldn’t help but smirk.
As the saying goes, No zuo, no die!
