Immortal Cultivation: Starting as a Fortune Cultivator - Chapter 39
Before leaving the Xuantian Sect, Ye Qingxuan suddenly remembered he wasn’t wearing the disciple attire.
Within the sect, having the disciple token was sufficient; wearing the issued robes wasn’t strictly necessary. However, when venturing outside, if one wished to seek shelter under the reputation of the Xuantian Sect, not wearing its attire wouldn’t do.
After all, an attacker wouldn’t first check your token. Revealing it after the offense might not have the same deterrent effect. So, exercising caution, Ye Qingxuan found a spot to change into his Xuantian Sect disciple robes first.
For distinction, miscellaneous and outer disciples of the Xuantian Sect uniformly wore grey robes; inner disciples wore cyan; core disciples wore red robes; direct disciples wore purple robes; and legacy disciples wore purple-gold robes!
All garments were embroidered with the Xuantian Sect’s unique Xuantian Dao patterns, making them instantly recognizable.
Although Ye Qingxuan was a disciple of the Fortune Cultivation Hall, a special treatment, his current cultivation level only classified him as an outer disciple. Therefore, his issued robes were also grey.
After changing into the grey Xuantian Sect attire, his demeanor diminished slightly, but he paid it no mind. Channeling spiritual power into the grey robe, a transparent barrier instantly activated. Sensing its strength, Ye Qingxuan felt a flicker of delight.
“Not bad!”
The disciple robes issued by the Xuantian Sect were themselves equivalent to a mid-grade magical artifact. The activated barrier could withstand three full-power strikes from a Qi Refinement Perfection cultivator.
Once properly attired, Ye Qingxuan soon arrived via sword flight at the sect’s external teleportation plaza. It was here that Family Head Ye Yuhong had brought him into the Xuantian Sect years ago.
The Teleportation Square housed several state-level teleportation arrays, each leading to major states adjacent to the Xuan State, where the Xuantian Sect was located. To return to the Ye Family, Ye Qingxuan needed to first teleport to the neighboring Xing State, then pass through the state-level arrays at Xing, Mu, and Li States before reaching Qing State, home to the Ye Family.
After scanning the area and confirming the direction of the Xing State teleportation array, Ye Qingxuan strode toward it. But before he had gone far, two senior brothers in cyan robes suddenly appeared and stopped him.
“Halt! By Xuantian Sect decree, disciples who have not yet built their Foundation may not leave the sect’s territory without permission!”
The two appeared young, merely in their youth, but cultivators maintained their appearance well; one couldn’t judge their true age by looks alone. Unfazed by the sudden interception, Ye Qingxuan presented the talisman command given by Manager Bai.
“Senior brothers, this junior is a disciple of the Fortune Cultivation Hall. This journey is to return home to bid farewell to my parents and sever worldly ties.”
Hearing this, the two men’s expressions softened slightly. One took the talisman command, inspected it, then returned it to Ye Qingxuan, nodding.
“We wish you a smooth journey, junior brother.”
With that, the two vanished from Ye Qingxuan’s sight once more. Though they were gone, Ye Qingxuan respectfully replied, “Qingxuan thanks the two senior brothers.”
He then stepped into the teleportation array leading to Xing State, leaving the Xuantian Mountain Range, the sect’s territory, for the first time.
Xing State, State City Teleportation Plaza.
Ye Qingxuan’s figure slowly materialized. Experiencing this cross-state teleportation again, he was no longer as disoriented as in his youth. His Qi Refinement Perfection cultivation was sufficient to control the dizziness.
Stepping aside to avoid blocking others, Ye Qingxuan looked back at the teleportation array behind him and sighed in admiration.
“The Di Xuan Realm is truly extraordinary!”
He was no longer as ignorant as years ago, thinking such large-scale teleportation arrays were commonplace. During his years at the Xuantian Sect, most of the books he read were historical records about the Di Xuan Realm.
State-level teleportation arrays capable of such vast distances were unimaginable in the Di Xuan Realm’s distant past, let alone their astonishing stability.
In the very ancient past of the Di Xuan Realm, teleportation arrays not only had short ranges but were also highly unstable. Mortals without cultivation entering them would certainly perish. Even other aspects of cultivation were far inferior to the present Di Xuan Realm.
Take the teleportation array alone: through years of evolution and improvement, not only did the range increase dramatically, but stability had reached a point where even ordinary mortals without cultivation could use them safely.
The reason for the enduring prosperity of the Di Xuan Realm’s cultivation civilization, with breakthroughs in all fields, was inseparable from the realm’s stable environment.
One could say that the current golden age of the Di Xuan Realm was the collective achievement of generations of cultivators.
For a world to remain prosperous, relying on a single power is insufficient. Only when all top powers reach a tacit understanding and jointly establish rules and order can the stable development of the entire world be ensured.
It must be said that the Great Ascension cultivators of the Di Xuan Realm were not short-sighted.
Ye Qingxuan’s initial understanding and perception of the cultivation world came from novels of his previous life. Most cultivation worlds in those novels primarily focused on conflict and slaughter, with exploiting the world for personal gain being the mainstream.
Acts like destroying sects and exterminating clans were common, and spiritual veins that couldn’t be held long-term were exploitatively mined to depletion. The cultivation environment of those worlds generally worsened with each generation.
Such behavior couldn’t strictly be called right or wrong, as it was the prevailing environment of those worlds, not something an individual could change.
“Perhaps, among the myriad realms of the heavens, most worlds follow the mainstream of exploiting the world for personal gain in cultivation?”
For a moment, Ye Qingxuan was lost in thought. The more he learned about the Di Xuan Realm, the more grateful he felt—grateful to have transmigrated into the Di Xuan Realm and not some other world.
The current structure of the Di Xuan Realm!
Featuring numerous hegemon-level powers suppressing various regions, jointly establishing order. While they didn’t interfere in conflicts between cultivators, they constrained the scale of conflicts among other forces within their respective territories.
The vast regions between these hegemon-level powers were, in fact, deliberately left as a tacit understanding—to leave a path of survival for ambitious forces.
Otherwise, with super teleportation array technology, the lands of the five continents within the Di Xuan Realm could easily be carved up by these hegemon-level powers.
Forces seeking only to preserve their heritage mostly gathered within the territories of the hegemon-level powers, abiding by the competition rules set by them.
Ambitious forces pursuing expansion mostly positioned themselves in the reserved regions between hegemon-level powers, where they could vigorously develop their influence.
However, all forces in the Di Xuan Realm must abide by the ironclad law established by the hegemon-level powers:
Destructive exploitation or damage to spiritual veins of any rank within the Di Xuan Realm is forbidden. Violators will face collective extermination!
This was the fundamental framework of the present Di Xuan Realm!
Such rules significantly minimized harm to the Di Xuan Realm. As long as the hegemon-level powers remained stable, the Di Xuan Realm would largely avoid major chaos.
Perhaps the Di Xuan Realm’s rules weren’t the best among the myriad heavens. But its enduring prosperity, with each generation’s cultivation environment surpassing the last, was proof enough of its exceptional nature.
Using the world as a vessel to cross the bitter sea together!
Even cultivators who transcend the world through ascension must, before ascending, repay their karmic debt to the world, contributing to its development.
This was the Path of Immortality Ye Qingxuan desired!
If the world gives me birth and nurtures me, yet I must harm and injure it to achieve my own Dao, how can that be worthy of the term ‘Immortal’?
How could such a world possibly prosper enduringly and grow more flourishing!
The decline of a world signifies the decline of its Path of Immortality.
