I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 5
Outside the gates of a high-end private hospital in the city.
A group of paparazzi were crouched near the entrance, waiting for their target to appear.
“Boss, do you really think we’ll get anything valuable just by waiting here?” asked a rookie paparazzo, clearly puzzled. “Why don’t we stake out the talent agency instead?”
The seasoned paparazzo remained unshaken. “You don’t understand—the juiciest scoops are always hidden in the least obvious places! What’s the point of staking out the agency? If even you can think of it, don’t you think our competitors can too?”
“Then who exactly are we waiting for here?”
“Still don’t get it? Fine, let me ask you—who’s the hottest star right now?”
“Qin Yunxuan, obviously! I’ve switched through multiple music channels today, and every single one was playing her song Blue Lotus. It’s really good…”
“You know she took a fall on stage recently, right?”
“Yeah, of course!”
“And do you know where she went after the show?”
“How would I know?”
The old paparazzo pointed at the high-end private hospital.
“Hiss—” The rookie gasped. “Boss… are you saying Qin Yunxuan came here for a check-up?”
The veteran nodded smugly. “Exactly. This isn’t the kind of info just anyone can dig up. I only found out through my neighbor’s second uncle’s grandson’s girlfriend’s male best friend’s housekeeper’s niece!”
“That… sounds complicated.”
“It’s an exclusive lead—absolutely reliable!” The old-timer said coolly. “You know who just went into the hospital earlier?”
The rookie shook his head.
“That was Yun Sihai, the CEO of Starlight Entertainment!”
“The CEO of Starlight Entertainment? What’s he doing here? Unless it’s for…”
“Of course it’s for Qin Yunxuan! Why else would he come here?” The old paparazzo smirked. “Starlight is one of the biggest entertainment giants in the country. As its CEO, Yun Sihai is swamped with work every day. Yet here he is—don’t you think that’s suspicious?”
The rookie’s eyes lit up. “Boss, you’re saying…”
“Shh! I’m not saying anything. We’re just here to look for clues.” The old man chuckled. “Kid, if you want to make it in this business, you need the patience of a wolf, the eyes of an eagle, and the nose of a bloodhound…”
The rookie nodded, though not entirely convinced.
The veteran continued, “Yun Sihai is the big boss of Starlight, but how much do you really know about him?”
The younger man shook his head again.
“Yun Sihai’s wife passed away years ago, but he’s never remarried. Not a single scandal with any woman since!”
“Wow, really? He’s actually a loyal man?” The rookie sounded impressed.
“Pfft, don’t be naive! Rumor has it his late wife was a stunning beauty. The reason he never remarried isn’t some undying loyalty—it’s because he’s never met anyone as beautiful as her!”
The old-timer scoffed in frustration. “Think about it—a man in his early thirties, running a massive entertainment empire. You really think he’d stay celibate for his dead wife? That he could resist his natural urges as a man?”
“Of course not!”
“At least you’re not completely stupid. A man like Yun Sihai? Just a flick of his finger, and countless women would throw themselves at him. He’s only human—who’s to say he hasn’t slipped up?”
“And Qin Yunxuan? Gorgeous, rising to fame at lightning speed, with Starlight pouring all their resources into promoting her. Don’t you think that means something?”
The rookie nodded slowly. “But we don’t have any solid proof yet.”
“That’s why we’re here. Sometimes, you don’t need direct evidence. Hints and insinuations—letting the readers imagine the scandal—are way more tantalizing than the truth itself!”
“And honestly, doesn’t the idea of a ‘loyal widower’ CEO getting tangled in a scandal with his own star sound way more exciting?”
Just then, Yun Sihai’s car slowly pulled out of the hospital.
The paparazzi quickly raised their cameras, snapping away from the shadows.
“Perfect. Got it. We’re done here!” The old paparazzo grinned like a blooming chrysanthemum as he reviewed the crisp photos on his camera.
