I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 39
“Did you really make this antivirus software yourself?”
After finding Professor Zhao, Qin Yunxuan explained the situation to him. At first, the professor thought she was just messing with him. But after seeing the finished product, his gaze sharpened.
“Of course!” Qin Yunxuan nodded confidently.
Creating an antivirus program entirely on one’s own was no small feat.
After a quick test, Professor Zhao discovered that the software—named Cloud Shield—actually worked as Qin Yunxuan had claimed, showing strong defensive capabilities against current malware and viruses.
“This kid… is truly a prodigy!” Professor Zhao thought to himself, eyeing the composed young man before him.
Ever since the last class, when Qin Yunxuan had put him in an awkward spot, he had reviewed all of “Qin Lang’s” past academic records. The results were clear: an absolute slacker.
But how could a slacker perform so impressively in class?
That had piqued the professor’s curiosity.
And now, “Qin Lang” had presented a self-made antivirus program—one that seemed surprisingly effective.
This convinced Professor Zhao that if Qin Lang was truly behind all this, then he was undoubtedly an unconventional genius—or at the very least, a prodigy.
“You must have a reason for telling me all this,” Professor Zhao said calmly. “Since we’re teacher and student, just say what you want directly.”
Qin Yunxuan grinned. “Well… Professor Zhao, how much do you think I could sell this antivirus software for if I pitched it to a tech company?”
“You’re short on money?” The professor picked up his teacup.
“Yeah!” Qin Yunxuan nodded. “Right now, I’m so broke I can’t even afford a decent dress!”
“Cough—!”
Professor Zhao choked on his tea, nearly spitting it out.
“You… want to buy a dress?”
He gave Qin Yunxuan a skeptical once-over. This fair-skinned young man… was he secretly a cross-dresser?
Noticing the odd look on the professor’s face, Qin Yunxuan realized her slip-up.
“Professor, I mean—”
Before she could explain, Professor Zhao waved his hand dismissively.
“It’s fine. I don’t interfere with students’ personal hobbies.”
Qin Yunxuan’s eye twitched. Did he just… misunderstand something?
“Your antivirus software is decent, but I can’t say for sure how good it really is without professional testing. However…”
Professor Zhao pulled out a newspaper from his desk. “You could try this.”
“Yunjing City Hacker Competition?”
Reading the headline, Qin Yunxuan’s eyes lit up.
“The Yunjing City Hacker Competition is a cybersecurity event held in two days. Hackers from all over the country will attempt to breach various systems to help companies identify and patch vulnerabilities.”
“If your antivirus performs well in the competition, countless cybersecurity firms will come knocking.”
Qin Yunxuan’s excitement grew as she nodded eagerly.
“But the competition usually only allows corporate teams to participate. Independent individuals can’t join.”
Professor Zhao chuckled. “However, I can register under Yunjing University’s research group. I’ll take you to the event.”
Qin Yunxuan bowed slightly. “Thank you, Professor Zhao!”
“You’re my student. If I can help, I will.”
The professor glanced at her. “By the way, about the Invention Cup—what’s your project idea?”
Artificial intelligence? Holographic projection? New energy sources? Advanced battery tech?
Qin Yunxuan’s mind raced with possibilities, but she hadn’t settled on one yet.
After all, each required funding—and right now, she was flat broke.
“Never mind, I won’t press you. Just do your best. Just don’t forget our agreement.” Professor Zhao waved her off.
“If there’s nothing else, you can go. Meet me in my office the morning after tomorrow, and we’ll head to the venue together.”
“Thank you, Professor!” Qin Yunxuan exhaled in relief.
“This kid… isn’t as mediocre as he usually seems,” Professor Zhao mused, stroking his chin with a faint smile.
He was looking forward to seeing what surprises “Qin Lang” had in store.
On her way back, Qin Yunxuan was in high spirits. If she could compete in this hacker event, her antivirus software was sure to dominate!
“I’ll buy the prettiest clothes and eat the fanciest meals!”
She was already daydreaming about how to spend the money.
Suddenly, her phone rang—it was her roommate, Chen Quan.
Before she could even greet him, Chen Quan’s urgent voice came through:
“Qin Lang, where are you right now? Whatever you do, don’t come back to the dorm! Stay away!”
Qin Yunxuan froze. “Huh? I was just heading back to my apartment. What’s going on?”
“Good, good! Just lay low for a couple of days. Don’t show up on campus. Your thing with Chen Xiyuan has blown up on the school forum!”
“And… people already know you’re in our dorm. We’ve had to deal with several groups looking for you. If they see you, I’m worried they’ll beat you up!”
Qin Yunxuan’s eyes widened.
Wait, my thing with Chen Xiyuan? Who’s Chen Xiyuan again?
After a brief moment of confusion, she remembered—the girl who had confronted her in the cafeteria.
What could possibly have happened between us?!
Unless… it’s because of what I shouted before leaving?
No way. No way! That was just an offhand comment—how bad could it be?
Once back in her apartment, Qin Yunxuan immediately checked the school forum.
The moment she saw the so-called “insider’s” post, her mind went blank.
This… isn’t at all what I expected.
How did I suddenly gain a girlfriend? And why do both sides sound so convinced?
She rubbed her temples in frustration.
But she also realized—this couldn’t go on.
People were already tracking down her department through photos. If this kept up, would she even dare return to campus?
“Wait… why would I even go back? It’s not like I want to stay there anyway!”
Suddenly, she paused, then re-read the post, a smirk forming on her lips.
“Why am I panicking? Someone else should be way more anxious than me!”
