I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 10
“Are you threatening me?” Zhao Zhiqing’s voice wavered with false bravado. Qin Lang’s words had struck a nerve—she was scared.
If Qin Yunxuan’s fans were allowed to attack her unchecked, her own fledgling fanbase wouldn’t stand a chance.
“President Zhou!” With no other options, Zhao Zhiqing turned to him—her greatest lifeline.
President Zhou’s expression darkened. He could feel the situation slipping out of his control.
“Lin Ruo, if you want me to back off, it’s simple—just tell me who really wrote ‘Blue Lotus.'”
Lin Ruo shook her head. “How many times do I have to say it? ‘Blue Lotus’ was written by Xuanxuan!”
“You expect me to believe that? Qin Yunxuan could never write something as timeless as ‘Blue Lotus’! If she really did, I’d apologize to her on the spot!”
Qin Lang’s ears perked up. “President Zhou, does your word hold weight?”
President Zhou scoffed. “Of course. But what can you do about it?”
A faint smile played on Qin Lang’s lips. “Sister Lin, could you get me a guitar?”
“What are you planning?” Lin Ruo’s eyes flashed with confusion.
“President Zhou doubts my songwriting skills. I’ll prove him wrong.”
“Are you insane? Writing a song isn’t that easy!” Lin Ruo couldn’t help but laugh.
“Trust me, Sister Lin.” Qin Lang’s tone was firm.
Reluctantly, Lin Ruo handed him a guitar. The onlookers buzzed with curiosity—everyone in the industry knew songs weren’t crafted on the spot.
“What a joke. Every masterpiece is refined over countless sleepless nights. This is just a performance,” President Zhou muttered dismissively.
But Qin Lang remained unshaken. If President Zhou insisted on doubting him, he’d have to face the harsh truth.
After a brief pause, Qin Lang’s slender fingers plucked the guitar strings, and a haunting melody filled the air.
“Every time I wander in loneliness, I grow stronger.
Even when hurt, I never let my tears fall…”
Stunned silence.
This was an entirely new song—yet another instant classic.
How? Could ‘Blue Lotus’ really have been written by Qin Yunxuan?
But wasn’t Qin Yunxuan tone-deaf? Since when did she have such genius?
Fan Xiaoyun’s eyes sparkled. This song… is just as brilliant as ‘Blue Lotus.’
“Who is Qin Yunxuan, really? A prodigy? Then why was she so poorly regarded before? This is fascinating.”
President Zhou’s face darkened. A new song—a masterpiece—in under three minutes?
Even diarrhea wasn’t this fast. This was downright supernatural.
“President Zhou, this song is even better than ‘Blue Lotus.’ I want it,” Zhao Zhiqing whispered urgently.
President Zhou shot her an irritated glare. Of course it’s a masterpiece—but now’s not the time!
As the last notes of “Invisible Wings” faded, the room remained eerily quiet, as if no one dared to break the spell.
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Fan Xiaoyun was the first to applaud. “I never believed in natural talent… until today.”
Lin Ruo beamed with pride.
Qin Lang set down the guitar and smirked at Zhao Zhiqing. “Do you want this song?”
Zhao Zhiqing nodded eagerly.
“Dream on. Why would I give it to you?” Qin Lang rolled his eyes before turning to President Zhou. “Well? Have I proven myself?”
President Zhou’s jaw tightened. “This proves nothing!”
“President Zhou, a person should have some dignity,” Fan Xiaoyun interjected coolly. “I understand wanting to secure benefits for your… close associates. But let’s not lose all self-respect.”
“Y-You’re slandering me!” President Zhou stammered, guilt flashing across his face.
“Oh? Should we investigate, then?” Fan Xiaoyun smiled faintly. “If this escalates, certain things… won’t hold up under scrutiny.”
With a furious glare at Lin Ruo and Qin Yunxuan, President Zhou stormed out.
“President Zhou! What about my song?” Zhao Zhiqing wailed, scrambling after him.
“Hahaha! That was priceless. Did you see his face? Like he’d swallowed a fly!” Lin Ruo laughed. “Xiaoyun, thank you.”
Fan Xiaoyun waved it off. “No need, Sister Lin. We go way back. I won’t tolerate underhanded tactics to steal songs.”
Lin Ruo sighed. “It’s the reality of the industry. By the way, what brought you here today?”
“I had business, but I think it’s already settled.” Fan Xiaoyun turned to Qin Lang. “Xuanxuan, I have a favor to ask.”
“What is it, Sister Fanfan?”
“I came to StarLight to request a song. And the one you just sang—it’s perfect. Would you consider selling it to me?”
Sell a song? Qin Lang blinked. The thought had never crossed his mind.
“Fanfan, you’re a superstar—you must have no shortage of songs,” Lin Ruo pointed out.
“I’m organizing a charity event for children with disabilities. We lack a theme song, and the responsibility fell to me.”
Lin Ruo nodded. Given the cause, “Invisible Wings” was undeniably fitting.
“Xuanxuan, what do you think?”
After a pause, Qin Lang smiled. “Sister Fanfan, if it’s for charity, take it. Don’t mention money—it’s my contribution.”
“I can’t possibly accept it for free!” Fan Xiaoyun protested.
“I don’t need the money. Keeping it would haunt me forever. Please, take it.”
Fan Xiaoyun studied him, then grinned. “Alright, I’ll accept your kindness. But the song’s name is…?”
“Invisible Wings.”
