“Xueqing, what’s wrong?”
Jiang Tian exclaimed in alarm, quickly catching her as she fell. A soothing, fragrant scent wafted into his nostrils, and her body felt soft and warm in his arms. But Jiang Tian had no time to savor the moment. He hurriedly carried Zhao Xueqing to the car and drove back to the luxurious mansion they called home.
On the way, Jiang Tian assessed Zhao Xueqing’s condition. She was weak and anemic—clearly, she hadn’t taken the Small Restoration Pill he had given her.
“Once she takes the pill, I’ll help her unblock her meridians and cleanse her bones and marrow. That way, she won’t fall ill again in the future.”
Jiang Tian decided to go all out. He would not only help Zhao Xueqing take the pill but also assist her in unblocking her meridians, cleansing her bones and marrow, replenishing her vitality, and strengthening her body.
After feeding Zhao Xueqing the Small Restoration Pill, Jiang Tian removed her outer clothing and had her sit cross-legged. He sat behind her, placing his hands on her back, and began channeling his spiritual energy into her body to help her refine the pill’s effects.
However, as time passed, Jiang Tian realized that he was struggling. Fully refining the pill and unblocking all her meridians required more effort than he had anticipated.
By the time it was 1 a.m., Jiang Tian suddenly heard a strange noise coming from outside the courtyard. His heart stirred, and he activated his Heavenly Eye to scan the area. A cold smile crept onto his lips.
“Liu Wangfeng, Wu Zhaohui, I was just about to look for you. I didn’t expect you to come to me first.”
…
…
“Liu Shao, are you sure killing Jiang Tian won’t cause any trouble?” Wu Zhaohui asked nervously, sitting in the shadow of a tree outside the villa. They were in a rugged off-road vehicle with Xinjiang license plates.
“There are no surveillance cameras around here. Besides, the Jinling side will handle everything,” Liu Wangfeng replied, his eyes glinting with a cold, murderous intent. The humiliation of having his arm broken and being slapped by Jiang Tian was unbearable. Today, he was determined to kill Jiang Tian.
“But Jiang Tian is a bit… strange. The two thugs I hired from Xinghui failed to take him down, and even Hailuo was severely injured by him,” Wu Zhaohui said, still uneasy.
“Don’t remind me of that! You said he was suffering from alcohol poisoning, but he seemed perfectly fine to me!” Liu Wangfeng snapped angrily.
“He must have been poisoned. Otherwise, why would he dare to attack you?” Wu Zhaohui argued.
“Maybe. He might have some brute strength, but he’s definitely not a martial arts expert,” Liu Wangfeng said after a moment of thought, then sneered. “Even if he is, what can he do against a gun?”
This time, Liu Wangfeng had hired two notorious assassins, Manlong and Liebao, who were infamous for their ruthlessness. They never failed.
Manlong grinned darkly. “Don’t worry, Liu Gongzi. We’ll handle this for you.”
With that, he and Liebao got out of the car, effortlessly vaulted over the courtyard wall, and opened the gate from the inside. Liu Wangfeng and Wu Zhaohui followed, striding confidently into the courtyard. They wanted to witness Jiang Tian’s gruesome death firsthand.
“Liu Shao, Wu Shao, what brings you here so late at night?” A calm voice suddenly rang out. The villa door opened, and Jiang Tian walked out, his hands clasped behind his back.
“Don’t move! Another step and we’ll shoot!” Manlong and Liebao were startled and immediately drew their guns, aiming them at Jiang Tian.
“Liu Gongzi, let’s talk this out. I don’t think you want Zhao Xueqing to see you kill someone, do you? It might scare her. How about we step outside?” Jiang Tian said with a smile.
“Fine, let’s go outside!” Liu Wangfeng quickly regained his composure and smirked coldly. He was confident. No matter how capable Jiang Tian was, they had guns. What could he possibly do?
Moreover, Liu Wangfeng wanted to humiliate Jiang Tian further. It would be inconvenient to do so here. A more secluded spot would be better.
“Alright,” Jiang Tian nodded cooperatively. He closed the villa door and followed them into the car.
Wu Zhaohui drove, and they soon arrived at the Hundred Zhang Cliff in the suburbs. The place was desolate and uninhabited—perfect for murder and disposing of bodies.
Once they got out of the car, Manlong and Liebao pointed their guns at Jiang Tian. Liu Wangfeng’s courage surged, and he looked at Jiang Tian with disdain, a smug grin on his face.
“Jiang Tian, you enjoyed hitting me the other day, didn’t you? Do you regret it now?”
“I do regret it. I regret not killing you with that slap,” Jiang Tian replied calmly, his hands still behind his back.
“You’re insane! You’re about to die, and you’re still talking tough!” Wu Zhaohui shouted angrily, kicking Jiang Tian in the stomach.
“You poisoned me, damaged my brain. Fine, today I’ll crush your skull,” Jiang Tian said coldly. With a casual wave of his hand, he slapped Wu Zhaohui’s head as if swatting a fly.
Thud!
Wu Zhaohui’s head exploded like a rotten watermelon, blood and brain matter scattering everywhere. His headless body crumpled to the ground.
“Ah—!” Liu Wangfeng screamed in terror, stumbling backward, cold sweat pouring down his face. He was just a rich young master, used to the cutthroat world of business, but he had never witnessed such a brutal and bloody scene.
He knew the human skull was the hardest part of the body. Yet, Jiang Tian had crushed it with a single slap. Was this even human? It was like facing a demon!
Before Liu Wangfeng could give any orders, Manlong and Liebao opened fire, emptying their magazines in a frenzy of bullets.
“Thank goodness I hired assassins. That two million was well spent. If I had just hired some ordinary thugs, we’d be done for today!” Liu Wangfeng thought, a smug smile appearing on his face as the two men fired.
This was modern weaponry. Who could possibly withstand it?
He could already picture Jiang Tian bleeding profusely, his brains splattered, meeting a gruesome end.
But what happened next made Liu Wangfeng’s soul nearly leave his body. He collapsed to the ground, almost scared to death.
Jiang Tian raised his hand, and a faint golden barrier appeared in front of him. Outside the barrier, dozens of copper bullets hung suspended in mid-air, spinning rapidly but unable to advance even an inch.
“Even bullets can’t kill him!”
“He’s a martial artist! True Qi externalization, condensing Qi into a barrier—a martial arts grandmaster!”
Manlong and Liebao turned pale, a deep sense of despair filling their hearts. They were seasoned killers, infamous internationally, but they had never encountered such a terrifying existence.
“At the Qi Refining stage, bullets are nothing to fear,” Jiang Tian sighed softly as he plucked the suspended bullets out of the air.
“Grandmaster Jiang, we surrender. Spare us…” Manlong and Liebao trembled, about to kneel and beg for mercy.
But it was too late.
Jiang Tian showed no mercy. With a flick of his wrist, the bullets shot out faster than they had been fired, piercing through the two assassins’ bodies in a spray of blood.
“Jiang Tian, spare me! I’ll be your slave, your dog!” Liu Wangfeng couldn’t control his fear any longer. He dropped to his knees, kowtowing frantically.
“To think that you, who were once so full of murderous intent, would now grovel like a pet,” Jiang Tian thought, a sense of satisfaction washing over him as he looked at his former enemy, now reduced to a trembling dog.
“Yes, yes, you’re my grandfather…”
“I don’t want a disgraceful descendant like you.”
“I was wrong, I was wrong! You’re my master! I’ll be your loyal dog, following you for life. Whatever you command, I’ll obey!”
The pungent smell of blood filled the air. Liu Wangfeng, realizing he might die, felt a chill run through his body. His voice trembled as he spoke, on the verge of tears.
“Unfortunately, when my sword is drawn, it must taste blood. I’m not here to scare children,” Jiang Tian said mockingly as he pulled a tactical dagger from Manlong’s body and approached Liu Wangfeng.
“And you, Liu Wangfeng, are nothing but an ant. You’re not even qualified to be my dog.”
“No, no, please don’t…” Liu Wangfeng tried to crawl backward on his knees, but Jiang Tian grabbed him by the neck like an eagle snatching a chick.
Liu Wangfeng realized his death was imminent. His already pale face turned even whiter, filled with terror and despair as he continued to beg.
“In your past life, when Xueqing begged for mercy at your feet, did you ever think of sparing her?”
“In your past life, when you broke Shen Le’s legs, did you ever consider showing leniency?”
“In this life, you poisoned me and sent assassins. You treated human life as if it were nothing more than grass.”
“The heavens are just, and retribution is inevitable. Since you believe you can manipulate the law and act with impunity, treating human life as worthless, I’ll show you what true ruthlessness is. I’ll use this blade to cut through your flesh, and your blood will wash away the humiliation of that past life, avenging the friends and family who died because of you…”
Jiang Tian’s eyes were cold as he flipped the dagger in his hand. The cold blade glinted as it slashed toward Liu Wangfeng’s groin.
Ssshhhk!
“Ah—!” Liu Wangfeng screamed in agony as blood gushed from between his legs, his manhood falling to the ground.
“This is the price for what you did to Xueqing in your past life,” Jiang Tian said coldly, his gaze like that of a demon god looking down on an ant.
“Jiang Tian, how dare you do this to me! Aren’t you afraid of the law? My family is backed by the three great families of Jinling!” In his desperation, Liu Wangfeng resorted to threats. This was his only chance—perhaps the influence of the three powerful families could intimidate Jiang Tian.
“Hmph, if the heads of those three families were here, I’d have already killed them,” Jiang Tian said disdainfully. With a twist of his hand, he snapped Liu Wangfeng’s neck.
Crack!
Liu Wangfeng’s body crumpled to the ground, his neck bent at an unnatural angle. He was dead.
Liu Wangfeng, the young master of the Liu family, the first in line to inherit the family’s fortune—was no more.
His eyes remained wide open, as if he couldn’t believe he had met such a gruesome end.
Jiang Tian loaded the four bodies into the off-road vehicle. With a kick, he sent the car tumbling down the Hundred Zhang Cliff into the abyss below. He then threw a fireball talisman, and the vehicle burst into flames.
“Hmph, even if the police find this, they’ll think it was just a car accident or that Manlong and Liebao were killed in a robbery,” Jiang Tian sneered as he turned and walked down the mountain.
Jiang Tian activated a Thousand-Mile Divine Movement Talisman on his legs, allowing him to move at incredible speed. He soon reached the city and made his way to the Liu family mansion.
Liu Wangfeng and Wu Zhaohui deserved to die, but their parents were no less guilty.
In their past lives, the two had committed heinous crimes, and their parents had not only failed to discipline them but had also enabled and protected them.
Jiang Tian even suspected that the heads of the Liu and Wu families had supported their sons’ alliance with the Jinling faction, possibly even helping to plan or carry out their schemes.
They, too, would pay in blood!
