Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! Chapter 76

At the Yae household, Rin and Yae Rin sized each other up with curiosity in their eyes.

Much like how Himiko and Murata Himeko, or Dr. Mei and Raiden Mei were connected, Yae Rin and Rin were, in a way, two sides of the same coin. The moment they met, they felt an inexplicable familiarity and quickly grew close.

In another room, Kallen rested her head gently on Yae Sakura’s lap, a serene contentment filling her heart.

“Kallen, it’s all over now. In this space, we can be together forever.”

Sakura’s face drew near, her warm breath tickling Kallen’s skin. Kallen reached up, her fingers lightly brushing Sakura’s cheek.

“Mm… Hey, Sakura, since we’ll be living together from now on… maybe we should make it official? Of course, if you’re not comfortable with it—”

Sakura immediately understood her meaning, her cheeks flushing. “I—I don’t mind. Whatever you want, I’ll arrange it right away.”

Kallen shook her head softly. “Sakura, you were bound by the rules of Yae Village for 500 years. Now, you should do things the way you want. What we’re doing already defies convention, so the formality of it… doesn’t matter.”

Sakura carefully lifted Kallen’s head from her lap, giving her a tender smile before stepping out of the room.

A day later, the entire village learned of Yae Sakura’s impending wedding—to Kallen.

The villagers’ eyes widened in shock, and whispers spread like wildfire.

“T-Two women? What kind of nonsense is this?”
“Indeed. ‘There are three forms of unfilial conduct, and the worst is to have no descendants.’”
“Such an affront to morality—who would ever support this?!”

“I would.”

The villagers looked up to see Elysia—or rather, Enoxia—standing before them. Though she wore the form of the Herrscher of Corruption, the aura of power around her and the gleaming American-style “persuasion tool” in her right hand left no room for doubt.

BANG!

A gunshot rang out, and the villager who had quoted the “unfilial conduct” line crumpled to the ground, blood pooling beneath him. His family jewels were now a distant memory.

The surrounding villagers dropped to their knees in unison. After a long silence, someone spoke up again—

“Lady Kallen and Lady Yae Sakura are a match made in heaven!”
“After all the trials they’ve endured together, it’s only right they find happiness now! We… we couldn’t be happier!”

Enoxia crouched down, her smile disarmingly sweet. “Oh? Truly?”

The villagers, now well-rehearsed, chorused as one: “From the bottom of our hearts!”

Satisfied, Enoxia snapped her fingers. The fallen man sprang back to life, his face pale as he clutched his now-intact groin, shivering at the memory.

Thanks to Enoxia’s persuasion, every villager offered their genuine blessings for the wedding.

The date was chosen at random—after all, in this digital realm, Enoxia, as the Herrscher of Corruption, controlled all variables. She was fate itself.

“Sakura, you look stunning in shiromuku.” Kallen admired Sakura’s pristine white bridal kimono.

Shiromuku—literally “pure white”—was a traditional Japanese wedding garment, with every layer, from the uchikake overcoat to the innermost undergarments, dyed in immaculate white.

In ancient Japan, white had been revered since the Heian period. By the Muromachi era (1336–1573), when Sakura had lived, white bridal wear had transitioned from ceremonial attire to wedding garb. Though Yae Village was remote, it wasn’t entirely cut off from the outside world, so many customs mirrored those of the Muromachi period.

For a shrine maiden of that time, wearing shiromuku to marry the one she loved was a dream come true.

“You’re beautiful too, Kallen.”

Kallen wore a lavish European noblewoman’s gown from the Middle Ages.

“Let’s go.”

Hand in hand, they stepped outside, beginning their unconventional, East-meets-West wedding ceremony.

The weather was perfect. The entire village had been cordially invited by Enoxia to attend. As the brides walked down the long red carpet, they reached a grand stage—decorated like a chapel, yet with two sake cups for the traditional san-san-kudo exchange.

They glanced at Yae Rin and Enoxia, signaling the start. Yae Rin, thrilled to be part of her sister’s big day, had volunteered as the officiant.

Enoxia gave her a look, and the script imprinted itself in Yae Rin’s mind.

“Ahem. Kallen Kaslana, do you take Yae Sakura as your lawfully wedded wife, to cherish for all your days?”

“I do.” Sakura lifted the sake flask, filling both cups. They drank the first round.

“Do you vow to stand by her side, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, through all of life’s trials?”

“I do.”

The second cup was drained.

“Do you promise to honor her as your partner, to cherish her heart, and to stand with her always?”

“I do.”

The third cup was emptied.

“Yae Sakura, do you take Kallen Kaslana as your lawfully wedded wife, to cherish for all your days?”

Instead of answering, Sakura pulled Kallen into a deep, passionate kiss—right in front of everyone.

“Saku—mmph?!” Kallen stiffened in shock, but the warmth of Sakura’s lips quickly melted her resistance. Soon, she surrendered, returning the kiss with equal fervor.

“Aah—!” Rin and Yae Rin clasped their hands over their mouths, eyes sparkling with delight.

For the conservative 15th-century villagers, however, the sight of two women kissing openly was a brain-melting spectacle. Some shut their eyes; others tried to flee.

Then Enoxia’s voice echoed directly in their skulls:

[If your fragile morals can’t handle this, suffer in silence. Five hundred years ago, none of you cared about the Yae sisters’ feelings. Now, nobody cares about yours. Tired of standing? Kneel. Move a foot, I’ll cut it off. Look away, and I’ll take your head.]

Under Enoxia’s gentle encouragement, the villagers watched with rapt attention as the couple kissed. Soon, thunderous applause and cheers erupted—louder than any storm.

And so, amidst the uproar, Kallen and Yae Sakura’s wedding came to a close. For them, it was the happiest day in 500 years.
