The shotgun in Dean’s hands was loaded with solid shot.
Sam, as usual, fired salt rounds.
The salt bullets didn’t seem to do much damage to the three-headed hellhound.
But the solid shotgun slugs had an effect.
Black blood spurted from the hound’s forehead. One of its heads, wounded, slowed its advance.
In that brief moment, the other officers finally snapped out of it, immediately raising their rifles and unleashing a hail of bullets.
Firing as they went, the officers quickly retreated, seeking cover.
Under their combined attack, they managed to pin down two of the hellhound’s heads!
A blue glow appeared in Ron’s eyes.
Across from her, the hellhound’s remaining head suddenly began to howl in agony.
She had activated her innate telekinesis again, targeting the tissue of its heart and brain.
Seeing the three-headed hellhound successfully suppressed, everyone gradually felt more confident.
But Ron, who had been observing the hellhound’s internal organs with her x-ray vision, wore a grave expression.
Unlike ordinary humans, the three-headed hellhound possessed a formidable healing ability.
The wounds inflicted by their attacks and her telekinesis were far from fatal!
As Ron had thought, the hellhound, though writhing in pain on the ground, eventually got back up.
A bright light then appeared in its mouths, a growing, soon-to-be-spewed flame! —
A sharp slash split the destructive sound wave in two.
A wisp of wind brushed across Paimon’s cheek, leaving a deep, visible gash from which blood flowed.
He touched his wound; as it healed under his fingers, he also felt the warm blood.
Looking at the blood on his hand, a flicker of surprise appeared in Paimon’s dull eyes.
Having just completed his possession, he was still operating mostly on instinct.
He had intended to casually obliterate the only one present who refused to kneel and welcome his arrival.
But unexpectedly, not only had this person survived the attack, but he had also wounded him in return.
It was only then that Paimon truly examined Su Fan for the first time, gradually recalling something.
“You are… that exorcist?”
His voice wasn’t as thunderous as before; it sounded normal, like an ordinary person speaking.
Paimon was accessing earlier memories.
Back when he was inside Charlie’s body, he had already seen this young man.
This person had repeatedly destroyed the evil spirits generated by his power.
This had successfully attracted Paimon’s attention.
“I once observed you through that girl’s eyes.”
Paimon looked at Su Fan and asked,
“Back then, your power was far inferior to what it is now. Tell me, human, what enabled you to grow so rapidly, to the point where you can stand before me?”
Su Fan did not answer Paimon’s question.
Instead, a notification appeared in his mind.
[Paimon’s attack was cleaved apart by the sword in your hand.]
[With a sword in hand, even formless things can be severed.]
[Swordsmanship +3!]
Su Fan skimmed the notification, then sneered at Paimon opposite him.
“Why are you shouting so loudly? Can’t you be a bit more polite when asking someone a question?”
Su Fan could indeed cut through the sound wave, but the loud volume was still somewhat unpleasant.
So, there was a bit of anger behind that slash.
Some people just can’t talk properly without getting hurt first.
This demon was like a spinning top – just asking for a whack.
Paimon wasn’t angered. He simply stared at Su Fan with those red, vertical pupils. After a moment, he spoke again.
“Foolish provocation, human.”
“Killing a few low-level ghosts has made you arrogant and rude. You will pay for your insolent words.”
The moment Paimon finished speaking, Su Fan had already become one with his sword, transforming into a beam of sword-light, charging directly at him like a shooting star!
Paimon clearly hadn’t expected Su Fan to be so direct, charging at him without another word. He was slightly taken aback.
But his reaction was by no means slow. The scepter in his hand came down in an instant.
A magic array instantly formed and unfolded before Su Fan, from which scorching flames erupted!
The inextinguishable hellfire – if an ordinary soul were tainted by it, they could never escape, doomed to endure endless burning agony!
However, this pillar of fire, several meters thick, was split right down the middle by the sword-light extending from Su Fan’s blade, just like the sound wave before it!
[You, united with your sword, cleaved through the hellfire summoned by Paimon’s array. Swordsmanship +3!]
He could have used wind manipulation to form a tornado, scattering the incoming flames in a contest of magical prowess, but Su Fan didn’t do that.
Since acquiring his swordsmanship, Su Fan had never truly fought an enemy with his sword.
The reason was simple: his opponents were too weak.
Ordinary evil spirits could be handled with simple talismans, and slightly stronger ones could be destroyed with the Five Thunder Talisman.
An enemy worthy of Su Fan unleashing his full sword skills, so far, was only Paimon!
He couldn’t waste such an opportunity!
Splitting the air with his sword, in the state of unity with his blade, Su Fan’s speed was extreme!
The array spewing hellfire couldn’t impede him at all.
In an instant, the sword-light was before Paimon!
Just as Su Fan was about to sever his head, Paimon didn’t dodge.
Instead, two massive black shapes shot out from either side, lunging at Su Fan!
Three-headed hellhounds, Cerberus!
Their bodies, as tall as three-story buildings, moved with a speed utterly mismatched to their size!
If Su Fan insisted on pressing forward, he would surely be torn to shreds by fangs and claws!
Planting his foot, he changed his move in an instant, his sword tracing a crescent moon in the air.
He severed the heads and claws of the hellhounds on either side. On the smooth cut surfaces, blood vessels, sinews, and muscle fibers were clearly visible!
Blood sprayed, and the hounds died without even feeling pain. Their massive, uncontrolled bodies tumbled forward, crashing to the ground with dull thuds.
Amidst the tumbling beasts, Su Fan emerged.
A clear, bright light gleamed on his shining blade.
The divine ability: Demon Slayer!
As the earlier sword energy showed, Paimon, possessing a human host, possessed immense regenerative power. Even Su Fan’s sword energy couldn’t inflict a fatal wound.
Only by using Demon Slayer could he be completely destroyed!
Paimon’s figure vanished from before Su Fan in an instant, reappearing over a hundred meters away.
The human ‘camel’ beneath him let out a strange cry.
The bloody mist in the sky churned, forming a massive serpent’s head.
Su Fan’s sword flashed repeatedly, arcs of light cleaving through the serpent’s head, but the wounds were instantly filled!
The great serpent wasn’t physical, its body condensed from the bloody mist. Swordsmanship, which cuts through solid points, was ineffective!
The serpent’s body writhed and rolled, opening its massive maw to strike at Su Fan!
Seeing this, Su Fan casually tossed out two Five Thunder Talismans!
Thunderbolts pierced the sky, like divine swords, punching through the serpent’s head!
