“You want to do a project on Artificial Intelligence?”
When the notoriously stern Professor Zhao saw the materials submitted by Qin Yunxuan, his face registered shock.
Although AI has been a hot topic in recent years, there hasn’t been any substantial breakthrough in reality!
Current AI, at best, follows pre-set commands from its owner, lacking any real autonomy. This is precisely the difficult problem countless researchers struggle to overcome.
Furthermore, the scientific community has a long-standing, unresolved debate: if AI ever gains autonomous capabilities, could it harm humanity, or even potentially betray it?
For many pessimists, AI is like Pandora’s box; once opened, what it unleashes upon humanity could very well be disaster.
But discussing that seems premature right now. For Professor Zhao, AI seemed a bit too challenging for the current Qin Lang.
Then again, remembering that Qin Lang had already developed an antivirus software on his own, the professor’s surprise subsided.
“That’s right. I feel the AI in this world is rather… underdeveloped, so…”
Qin Yunxuan shrugged.
She didn’t finish her sentence, but Professor Zhao understood her implication.
“Artificial Intelligence will be a prominent field in the future, and our understanding of it is still quite limited. If you truly wish to enter this field, it holds significant research potential!”
Professor Zhao nodded slowly. “I will find some relevant materials for you, both domestic and international. However, my own expertise in this area isn’t deep, so the guidance I can offer will be limited. Are you really confident about this?”
“Let’s give it a try. How will I know if it works without trying?”
Qin Yunxuan didn’t display absolute confidence. After all, she needed to adapt to Qin Lang’s identity and couldn’t reveal too many extraordinary behaviors. Otherwise, it might raise suspicion!
“Alright, leave the materials with me. I’ll recommend some relevant books for you today. You go ahead and continue your preparations.”
Qin Yunxuan nodded and turned to leave Professor Zhao’s office.
Just then, Qin Lang’s phone rang.
Qin Yunxuan glanced at the screen; the caller ID displayed someone named “Scoundrel.”
“Scoundrel? Who’s that?”
Although this name was in Qin Lang’s contacts, based on the nickname alone, Qin Yunxuan had no idea who it was!
After a moment’s hesitation, Qin Yunxuan didn’t answer.
Judging by the nickname, Qin Lang probably didn’t think much of this person, so better not to pick up.
But the owner of this number seemed relentless. In just five minutes, they had called over a dozen times.
“Is there some emergency? Or is the world waiting for me to save it?”
Bombarded by calls, Qin Yunxuan felt irritated, but she ultimately answered.
What if it was something urgent?
“Hey, Qin Lang, what are you doing? Why aren’t you answering my calls?”
As soon as the call connected, a man’s imperious voice came through, laced with blame and displeasure.
Qin Yunxuan frowned. “Is there something urgent?”
“What’s with the attitude? Is that any way to talk to your second brother? You think you’re all that now, huh?” The voice held a hint of a cold laugh. “Where are you? I’m at the Longyu Grand Hotel. Get here within half an hour!”
With that, the other party hung up.
Second brother? Could this guy be Qin Lang’s cousin, Qin Kong?
Qin Yunxuan had already researched Qin Lang’s interpersonal relationships.
Qin Lang was the only child in his family, with no siblings. But someone claiming to be his “second brother” could only be the son of Qin Lang’s paternal uncle, Qin Kong, the second eldest among the third generation of the Qin family.
“From the looks of it, the relationship between Qin Kong and Qin Lang… doesn’t seem great.”
Qin Yunxuan shook her head. She didn’t take Qin Kong’s matter seriously at all.
You tell me to come, so I just go? What about my dignity, Qin Yunxuan’s dignity?
If I go, I’ll take your surname!
Just after hanging up on Qin Kong, Qin Yunxuan noticed another incoming call.
“Home? Is this a call from Qin Lang’s family?”
Suddenly, Qin Yunxuan felt nervous.
Looking at the incessantly ringing phone, she was torn.
Even facing tens of thousands of fans hadn’t made her as nervous as she was now.
The feeling… was like an unattractive daughter-in-law about to meet her in-laws—tense and anxious!
“What to do, what to do?”
The phone felt scorching hot in her hand; Qin Yunxuan was at a loss.
“What’s the big deal? It’s just answering a call from Qin Lang’s parents. This level of difficulty is nothing for me, Qin Yunxuan!”
After sufficient mental preparation, Qin Yunxuan took a deep breath.
Just as she was about to hit the answer button, the call disconnected by itself.
Qin Yunxuan let out a sigh of relief.
It’s not that I didn’t answer; it clearly timed out before I could get to it!
She consoled herself inwardly.
But her relief lasted less than ten seconds. With a ding-dong, her phone received a WeChat message.
It was a message from Qin Lang’s mother.
“It’s a voice message!”
Qin Yunxuan tapped to play it.
“Son, I asked your cousin to bring you some things. Remember to go get them later! Now that you’re away from home, take care of your health. Don’t compare yourself to others; focus on your studies. Everything’s fine at home, don’t worry.”
Hearing this simple, slightly hoarse voice, Qin Yunxuan froze in place.
An indescribable emotion surged into her heart.
Even though she now inhabited Qin Lang’s body, it still held an instinctive reaction to this voice.
Tenderness, remorse, excitement… countless feelings intertwined, leaving Qin Yunxuan momentarily overwhelmed.
“So, Qin Kong has something from my parents. No wonder he wanted me to come.”
Although Qin Yunxuan was highly dissatisfied with Qin Kong’s imperious tone and attitude, considering he was delivering something on behalf of her parents, she decided to let it slide.
After all, they both shared the surname Qin, so it wasn’t a loss of face for her.
Having reasoned this out, Qin Yunxuan felt at ease.
Half an hour later, she arrived at the Longyu Grand Hotel.
But when she called Qin Kong this time, he didn’t appear.
“I’m still busy with something. Just wait for me in the hotel lobby. Don’t call me again; I’m occupied!”
With that, he hung up.
“Such airs and such a temper!”
Qin Yunxuan frowned slightly, a trace of displeasure crossing her face.
No one had ever spoken to her in that tone in her entire life.
After finding a seat, Qin Yunxuan took out her laptop.
In less than ten minutes, all of Qin Kong’s personal information was displayed on her screen.
“Qin Lang?”
At that moment, a surprised voice rang out, startling Qin Yunxuan.
She turned to look, and a flicker of surprise appeared in her eyes.
It was her?
