(Stop chasing me! I told you, you’ve got the wrong cat!!!)
Under the cloak of night, Xia Xi controlled Cat Senpai’s body as he darted and weaved through the streets.
Hot on his heels were several pitch-black kittens, led by a tabby cat with a scar near its eye.
“Meow, meow, meow!”
(That’s a lie! Last time, it was you who snatched the sausage that rightfully belonged to me from that human’s hand!)
The tabby cat let out a fierce meow, its claws—trimmed but still sharp—extending with agitated intensity, gleaming with a cold, white light under the moonlight.
“Meow, meow, meow.”
(Yeah, yeah! Who do you think you are, daring to steal food from our boss?)
The pure black kittens chimed in, fanning the flames while relentlessly giving chase.
Watching the gangster-like cats closing in behind him, a wave of bitter despair washed over Xia Xi.
What sin had he committed? He had done absolutely nothing, yet the moment they laid eyes on him, they bared their teeth and charged.
Logically, Cat Senpai now lived in Lin Xuening’s home, pampered with good food and drink every day, which placed her firmly in the category of a house cat. She shouldn’t have had any contact with these strays.
However, the reality was that Cat Senpai had somehow managed to offend these feline underworld figures. Coincidentally, Xia Xi was using her body to complete a task, casually strolling down the street, when they spotted him. Thus, he ended up taking the fall for Cat Senpai.
“Meow, meow, meow!”

The tabby cat had an air of unwavering determination, as if it wouldn’t rest until it caught Xia Xi.
“Meow.”
(Are you crazy? Only an idiot wouldn’t run.)
Given how they looked like they wanted to tear him to shreds, Xia Xi didn’t dare stop for a second. If he did, they’d probably swipe at him with their claws in an instant.
One had to remember, Cat Senpai was a calico, considered a great beauty in the cat world. If her pretty face got scarred by their claws, how could she ever show herself to other cats again?
Strangely enough, swapping into Cat Senpai’s body wasn’t like exchanging with Luo Xinyu or Bai Xiaocha. Cat Senpai didn’t speak in his mind; it was as if she were sound asleep.
The chase lasted about ten minutes before Xia Xi was cornered in an alley with smooth walls on all sides.
To think that he, a fearsome upright ape full of intimidation, could be reduced to such a sorry state by a few little cats! How pitiful and tragic!
“Meow~”
(Go on, run. Weren’t you good at running? Let’s see where you can run to now.)
The tabby cat grew increasingly excited. Watching the little calico huddled in the corner, it extended its tongue and licked its paw.

Just like human flatterers, the cat minions kept showering their boss with praise. It was hard to tell if these kittens were naturally like this or if they had picked up bad habits from humans.

(Don’t come any closer! If you take another step, I’m going to lose it!)
Xia Xi imitated the threatening posture of animals, baring his teeth and revealing his claws.
However, when the clawless paws emerged, they were met with mocking laughter from the tabby cat and its gang.
It couldn’t be helped. As a domesticated cat, Cat Senpai’s claws—deemed a threat to humans—had naturally been trimmed. Lin Xuening didn’t want to risk getting scratched by Cat Senpai one day.
“Meow, meow.”

In the tabby cat’s eyes, Xia Xi’s current stance wasn’t much different from a girl performing what humans might call “excitement-inducing punches” in front of a thug.
In short, it looked weak, utterly non-threatening, and rather ridiculous.
As the tabby cat and its minions advanced step by step, Xia Xi tried to back away further, only to find his entire body pressed against the cold, hard wall.
“Meow!”
(You should at least be reasonable! When did I ever provoke you? I have no memory of it at all. What gives you the right to treat me like this?)
Frankly, his words carried a tone of pitiful innocence.
But Xia Xi wasn’t actually afraid of these little cats. After all, he had just completed a task and obtained a Cat Girl Transformation Trial Card.
At worst, he could use the card on himself, transforming Cat Senpai’s body into a cat girl. Surely a human body could handle a few kittens, right?
“Meow.”
(Fine, I’ll let you understand exactly why you’re done for.)
The tabby cat sneered, pressing its forehead directly against Xia Xi’s, its half-squinted eyes fixed intently on his pupils.
“Meow, meow, meow.”
(Before, using that technique humans love so much—what they call ‘acting cute’—I won the favor of a female human. Just as I was about to get that delicious sausage, you suddenly popped out of nowhere and jumped into her arms.)
The tabby cat took a breath, placing a paw against the wall behind Xia Xi. While it was meant to prevent escape and intimidate him, it oddly resembled a human ‘kabe-don’ or wall slam. Who knew where this little tabby had picked up such a move.
“Meow, meow, meow!”
(That human completely ignored me, turned around with you in her arms, and walked away! The sausage that was rightfully mine ended up in your mouth. Tell me, doesn’t such food-snatching behavior deserve a place on our hit list?)
Hearing this, Xia Xi finally understood why Cat Senpai had provoked these cat hoodlums.
The ‘female human’ the tabby mentioned was probably Lin Xuening.
He guessed that Lin Xuening had taken Cat Senpai out for a walk and, out of affection for cats, wanted to offer some food. But when Cat Senpai jumped into her arms, almost like she was jealous, Lin Xuening ultimately decided not to give the sausage to the other cats.
“Meow.”
(But that human is my owner. Isn’t it normal for her to feed me?)
Xia Xi tried to reason one more time. It was best to save the trial card if possible; who knew when it might come in handy.
“Meow!”
(Enough excuses! Either go get 100 sausages from that so-called owner of yours, or let us have our fun and give birth to a few kittens for us!)
A beauty like Cat Senpai, highly regarded even in the cat world, held a particularly strong appeal for these feline delinquents.
