As Xu Ze quickly got dressed, his mind raced, and soon he arrived at the only plausible explanation.
“Oh… it must be about that child!” Xu Ze muttered to himself. After some thought, it seemed the most likely reason. Otherwise, why would anyone send him a banner for no reason?
With this in mind, Xu Ze felt more at ease. He finished dressing and, accompanied by his beaming mother, headed downstairs.
By the time they reached the clinic, it was already packed with people. In the center of the room, on a table, lay a red banner with golden characters that read: Xu Family Clinic Saves Lives, Son Follows Father’s Footsteps with Miraculous Hands!
Old Man Wang, along with his daughter-in-law and grandson, sat by the table, smiling warmly and praising Xu Ze’s father for his exceptional medical skills, comparing him to the legendary Hua Tuo. He even went as far as to say that Xu Ze, his son, was a reincarnation of Bian Que, another ancient medical genius.
Xu Ze’s father, though modestly waving off the compliments, couldn’t hide the pride in his eyes. After all, who wouldn’t be proud of such a son? Having a child who brought such honor was even more rewarding than receiving a banner himself.
As Xu Ze descended the stairs, someone in the crowd spotted him and shouted, “Xu Ze is here! Xu Ze’s coming down!”
Hearing that his savior had arrived, Old Man Wang immediately stopped praising Xu Ze’s father. He stood up, pulling his daughter-in-law and grandson with him. With a deep bow, he exclaimed, “Our lifesaver!”
Then, to the shock of everyone present, Old Man Wang and his family knelt down before Xu Ze. Xu Ze, his mother, and his father rushed forward to stop them. Xu Ze quickly grabbed Old Man Wang’s arm, saying, “Please, this is too much! I can’t accept this!”
With Xu Ze’s insistence and his parents’ gentle persuasion, Old Man Wang finally stood up, tears streaming down his face. He clutched Xu Ze’s arm and said, “You’re our family’s savior! If it weren’t for you, our only heir would be gone. You deserve this bow!”
“Please, it’s nothing special. Anyone would have done the same in my position,” Xu Ze replied humbly, helping Old Man Wang sit down. “I’m just glad Xiao Jun is okay. You really didn’t need to come all this way to thank me.”
“That’s right,” Xu Ze’s father chimed in, nodding approvingly at his son’s modesty. “Saving lives is our duty. He’s still young and doesn’t deserve such a gesture.”
Old Man Wang shook his head, wiping his tears. “Young Doctor Xu saved my grandson and preserved our family line. Not only does he deserve a bow, but I’d even serve him as my master if he asked. We can never repay his kindness!”
He then turned to the onlookers and said, “You all don’t know this, but after Young Doctor Xu revived my grandson, we took him to the hospital. The doctors there said it was a miracle he survived. They said even if we had brought him straight to the hospital, they might not have been able to save him. But Young Doctor Xu did it! He truly has remarkable skills!”
The crowd gasped in awe, murmuring praises. “That’s incredible! He’s truly amazing!”
“Doctor Xu didn’t just save Xiao Jun; he saved our entire family. He deserves our gratitude!” Old Man Wang insisted, struggling to kneel again. After much persuasion from the Xu family, he finally relented but made his grandson bow to Xu Ze as a sign of respect.
