The Almighty Martial Arts System Chapter 206

Though Wu Ke now thrives in the business world, holding a key position at one of China’s top public equity funds where handling over a hundred million daily is routine, those who knew him before his corporate days remember a different path.

After graduating university, Wu Ke first joined the military. With his promising career, becoming a general before fifty would’ve been effortless—yet he abruptly resigned. Within just two or three years, he transformed into the financier he is today.

Wu Ke and Ye Yuanyuan met during his military service. They forged a life-saving bond on a critical mission, which is why, despite his hectic schedule, Wu Ke made sure to personally host Ye Yuanyuan during her Beijing visit.

But he didn’t expect her to greet him with a punch.

Knowing her temperament, Wu Ke understood there had to be a reason. The only plausible explanation? The man named Jiang Fei was someone even the fearless Ye family heiress hesitated to provoke.

Instead of anger, Wu Ke felt curiosity. Few men in China could earn Ye Yuanyuan’s protection—and it likely wasn’t due to status alone. Jiang Fei must have impressed her in some extraordinary way.

What kind of man could tame the Ye family’s pride?

When Jiang Fei revealed his identity, Wu Ke laughed in realization. “So you’re the Dr. Jiang! An honor. I’m amazed someone so young has such mastery of medicine. At tomorrow’s Sino-Western Medical Exchange, it’s up to you to teach those ‘blue-nosed foreigners’ a lesson—show them our 5,000-year legacy isn’t so easily dismissed!”

As Ye Yuanyuan’s former comrade, Wu Ke knew her purpose in Beijing and would assist her. He’d also heard of Jiang Fei’s feats: curing General Ye Zhennan’s paralysis and detoxifying him. No wonder Ye Yuanyuan valued him.

This man saved her grandfather’s life.

If Wu Ke dared trouble Jiang Fei again, he was certain Ye Yuanyuan’s fist would fly once more.

“How does Mr. Wu know me?” Bai Ruoxi pressed.

Wu Ke’s earlier admiration vanished as he smiled. “Pure luck. I caught your CBS report abroad during a news segment. Your… professionalism stood out, so I looked you up online.”

“Ah.” Bai Ruoxi nodded.

It was coincidental. Her few live broadcasts as a frontline reporter during overseas protests had earned her a minor “most beautiful journalist” tag among netizens. Wu Ke, apparently, was one of them.

“Let’s go,” Ye Yuanyuan cut in, shooting Jiang Fei a glare before leading Wu Ke away.

Jiang Fei and Bai Ruoxi soon left the airport for her apartment.

At 10 a.m., Beijing buzzed with activity—honking cars, bustling streets, vendors’ cries. Yet in a high-rise apartment near the Central News headquarters, blackout curtains held back the sun, casting the bedroom in twilight.

Beneath tangled sheets, muffled giggles and creaking bedsprings mingled. A pale leg slipped free, toes curling as breath hitched—

“You are my little apple, how I love you is never enough…”

The obnoxious ringtone (courtesy of Jiang Fei’s prankster niece, Xia Xiaozhi) shattered the moment.

Bai Ruoxi peeked out, cheeks flushed. “Your phone.”

Jiang Fei yanked the sheets back. “Vacation mode. Ignoring it.”

His philosophy? Study hard, slack hard. With tomorrow’s medical conference looming, he’d rather unwind with his wife than stress.

“You’re insatiable,” Bai Ruoxi gasped as he silenced her protest with another kiss.

Later, Jiang Fei traced the beauty mark on Bai Ruoxi’s nose. “Why a school uniform? Why not a nurse or police costume?”

“Because buying those in person would’ve been obvious!” she retorted.

“Online shopping next time,” he teased. “But this was nostalgic—like high school, when you were the untouchable class president.”

“And now you’ve defiled the memory,” she deadpanned.

“Admit it. You had a crush on me back then.”

“Never.”

His phone rang again.

“Cui Xiuping,” Jiang Fei groaned. “The conference isn’t till tomorrow.”

“My grandfather wants to meet you today,” came the reply. “I’m… downstairs.”

Jiang Fei paused. Thank god he didn’t knock.

“Ten minutes,” he muttered, hanging up.

Bai Ruoxi waved him off. “Go. I need sleep.”

Laughing, Jiang Fei dressed under her playful shoves.
