“So, Meng Fan, you said you didn’t have a dual system? You said you weren’t interested in other women?”
“Then explain these comments and collections to me — right now!”
With the evidence laid out before him, Meng Fan had no way to talk his way out of it.
Gone was his arrogant attitude from before. He lowered his voice and pleaded, “Honey, let’s not talk about this out in public. Can we just go home and discuss it there, please?”
At this point, Meng Fan couldn’t care less about seeing a doctor.
His top priority now was to calm Gao Man down.
The Huang couple also chimed in to mediate.
“Yeah, come on, men like looking at pretty women — it’s normal. He hasn’t done anything that extreme. You don’t have to be so hard on him.”
“Exactly, Gao Man. He just liked a few dance videos. My Huang Shao does that all the time too. It’s not a big deal.”
The Huangs tried to talk Gao Man down, urging her to look on the bright side and not take things too seriously.
But Gao Man didn’t give them the courtesy of a response. Instead, she went straight to Meng Fan’s WeChat.
In no time, she uncovered something even more explosive.
Meng Fan had been in constant contact with a woman named Pink Bunny — and what’s worse, they’d been meeting up regularly!
Their chat history was explicit and downright unbearable to read.
Pink Bunny had even sent him a bunch of her personal private photos!
With a thud, Meng Fan dropped to his knees in front of Gao Man.
The man who had been so stubborn just moments ago was now completely broken.
“Honey, I’m so sorry. I admit it — I was blind and stupid, and I did things I shouldn’t have. But you have to believe me, I really do love you!”
“Punish me however you want. I won’t complain one bit.”
“I’ll do anything you ask, as long as you can forgive me!”
Kneeling on the ground, Meng Fan looked utterly sincere.
But Gao Man didn’t even glance at him.
Every single word in those chat logs with Pink Bunny stabbed into her heart like a sharp knife.
Gao Man took a deep breath and said, “Meng Fan, you’ve been putting on a pretty good act all these years.”
“If it weren’t for these chat records, I wouldn’t even have known you betrayed me two years ago.”
Meng Fan offered no defense. He just raised his hand and started slapping himself across the face.
The livestream audience couldn’t help but flood the chat with comments.
“I thought this guy had some backbone earlier, but man, he crumbled fast. Just turned into a cheating scumbag begging for forgiveness.”
“Guys are all the same — they’re either greedy for money or lustful, one way or another. The only difference is that good men can control their urges and not cross the line.”
“I think Gao Man is pretty good-looking. With a wife that beautiful, why go looking elsewhere? I guess the grass really is always greener on the other side?”
The viewers just couldn’t understand Meng Fan’s behavior.
He’d thrown away a perfectly good marriage all because he couldn’t keep his head on straight.
Not only did the audience feel it was a pity, even Huang Shao couldn’t help but chime in: “Gao Man, we’ve been friends for years. I think sometimes you can’t be too serious about things — a little ignorance is bliss.”
“Meng Fan definitely did something wrong, but you two worked so hard to build this marriage. If you divorce now, it’ll be a huge blow to both of you and your families.”
Huang Shao actually made a valid point.
Dating is between two people — marriage is not.
If Gao Man insisted on pursuing this to the bitter end, the only outcome would be the end of their marriage, followed by the two families turning against each other and cutting all ties forever.
That wouldn’t be good for anyone.
Take Gao Man, for example — she was already pushing thirty, no longer that young.
If she got divorced now,
given her circumstances, finding another suitable man would be next to impossible.
Hearing Huang Shao console her like that, Gao Man let out a cold laugh. “Huang Shao, you sure are open-minded.”
“I’d love to see if you could stay so calm and generous if this happened to you.”
Huang Shao quickly responded, “I trust Ding Fang would never betray me. Besides, even if she did make a mistake, I’d be willing to forgive her.”
At first, Ding Fang was nervous.
But when she heard Huang Shao say he’d forgive anything, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, Gao Man pulled up the chat logs between Meng Fan and Pink Bunny, clicked on the private photos, and showed them to Huang Shao.
“Old Huang, open your eyes and take a good look — don’t those photos look familiar?”
As Huang Shao flipped through the first few images, something felt off.
Why did this Pink Bunny’s figure seem so familiar the more he looked at it?
Then he spotted a small plush toy in the background beside Pink Bunny’s hand — and his mind exploded.
That plush toy was his custom-made birthday gift to Ding Fang!
And when he saw the most recent messages between them, Huang Shao felt like his head was a vast green pasture.
These two had been meeting up at home while he was at work!
Talk about bold!
Finally, Huang Shao snapped out of it.
“No wonder you got hand, foot, and mouth disease — my son gave it to you!”
Meng Fan and Ding Fang were scolded into silence. Since they were in the wrong, they just kept their mouths shut.
Just then, Gao Man delivered the fatal blow to Huang Shao.
“Your son? I wouldn’t be so sure about that. It’s still up for debate whether he’s really yours — after all, those two have been tangled up for a long time now.”
Hearing this, Huang Shao immediately turned to Qin Jiang and said, “Dr. Qin, can you do paternity tests here? I strongly request one right now — I need to know whether Huang Xing is really my son!”
At his words, Ding Fang’s face went pale.
She stammered nervously, “Huang Shao, what do you mean by that? Of course he’s your son. This is a lack of trust in me — it’s an insult!”
In the past, Huang Shao would never have dared to bring up something like paternity testing.
But now, he just let out a cold, bitter laugh.
“An insult to you?”
“The two of you went behind our backs and did something so shameless — isn’t that an insult to me?”
“I’m doing this paternity test today, and no one is going to stop me!”
Since the patient had a request, Qin Jiang was happy to oblige.
He plucked a strand of hair from Huang Xing’s head and walked into the pharmacy to begin the test.
Soon enough, the paternity test results were ready.
