March 30, 2017 – World Serpent Headquarters.
“Oh, so the Herrscher of Sentience didn’t actually get tricked by Otto into coming here?”
Enoxia had observed carefully—not just the World Serpent headquarters, but also their various branches scattered around the world. There was no sign of any large-scale intrusion anywhere.
“Right, that makes sense. After all, ever since Kevin returned to the intrinsic world, he hasn’t had any direct contact with the real Fu Hua. She must have gone straight to Otto and been duped into heading to Mount Taixu instead.”
“Sigh, the Herrscher of Corruption’s authority is just so convenient. No matter where you are, you can get the latest intel the moment something happens.”
Raven stood beside Enoxia, a hint of excitement flickering in her eyes. Enoxia could tell that Natasha was in great spirits today—clearly in her “100% SP” state.
“I heard you went on a mission with Mei before. How did that go?”
At the mention of Mei, Raven’s expression turned complicated:
“Miss Mei, huh… Good thing you warned me in advance. Her situation is similar to Seele’s. Even though I’ve been through rigorous training, having a teammate who could suddenly flip personalities at any moment mid-mission… I had mentally prepared myself, but I still couldn’t fully get used to it.”
“If I absolutely had to compare Miss Mei and Seele… honestly, the conflict between her two personalities is way more intense than Seele’s…”
Enoxia chuckled:
“Raven, have you ever considered that maybe it’s Seele who’s the unusual one? Sure, so far only those two have developed second personalities due to Stigma awakening, but if we set that condition aside, there are actually quite a few people in the world with multiple personalities. And among all those with multiple personalities where there’s no true primary host, hardly any of them get along as well as Seele’s personalities do.”
“Of course, even though Seele and Mei don’t actually have a primary and secondary personality—there’s no dominant relationship between them, and whoever has the stronger will takes control—since neither of them were born with dual personalities, the second personality tends to place itself in a subordinate position in terms of self-perception. It’s just that… between Mei’s first and second personalities, they don’t exactly see eye to eye.”
Raven shook her head:
“I admit, I’m no expert on this, and I don’t have dual personalities myself. I had no idea there was so much nuance to it. So, is it possible that Seele and Mei’s two personalities could eventually separate and become two distinct people? I mean, their personalities are so different in almost every way—it feels unlikely they’d ever merge.”
“Under normal circumstances, no. But in their cases, there are special factors at play.”
“Obviously, to split them into two, you’d need an extra body that matches their soul. And the simplest, most feasible way to do that would be for them to become Herrschers.”
“But hasn’t Mei already…”
Enoxia shook her head:
“Not all Herrschers have the ability to create physical bodies out of thin air. It depends on the Herrscher’s authority and how well the Herrscher core resonates with them. Judging by your expression, I can tell you’re not a fan of long-winded jargon, so I’ll stop there. But in short, adding a Herrscher core to each of their bodies is indeed the most likely scenario.”
At that point, Enoxia’s expression suddenly turned serious, returning to normal only half a minute later.
“They’re all coming… In a few days, Mount Taixu is going to get pretty lively.”
