“Sister, ah no, sis, you’re here?”
Luo Xingchen casually took the bag of fruit from his sister’s hands, then shot a sidelong glance at “Xia Xi” beside her.
He had mixed feelings about this so-called future brother-in-law of his—partly annoyed, yet somewhat accepting.
The annoyance came from the fact that this guy had stolen his beloved sister away, while the acceptance stemmed from him having cured his sister’s legs and being able to write such amazing novels like Dragon Race.
So Luo Xingchen felt quite conflicted inside. In the end, he decided that he would neither put in a good word for the guy in front of the couple nor badmouth him—just letting things play out naturally.
As he looked at the two standing at the doorway, something felt off.
This “Xia Xi” seemed awfully familiar with their house, while his own sister, on the other hand, appeared a bit reserved.
“Sis, Dad said that once you’re home, you should stay in your room for a bit—he wants to have a word alone with Brother Xia Xi.”
Seeing Luo Xingchen put on that ingratiating look, Xia Xi couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth.
Luo Xinyu was popular both outside and at home… not gonna lie, being pretty really is an advantage—at the very least, it leaves a great first impression.
“Alright.”
Xia Xi nodded.
Thankfully, they’d already swapped bodies on the plane—otherwise, having to go see Luo Jingcheng alone right now would be way too stressful.
As for Luo Xinyu, she was his daughter after all—father and daughter talking probably wouldn’t put much pressure on either of them.
“Then… Brother Xia Xi, shall I take you to Dad’s room?”
He didn’t need to worry about his own sister—there was no way she wouldn’t be able to find her own room in their house. But this was Brother Xia Xi’s first time visiting, and even though he seemed oddly familiar with the house’s layout, there was no way he’d find their father’s room on his own. So it was up to him to guide the way.
“Then I’ll leave it to you, Xiao Chen.”
For some reason, Luo Xingchen felt like he was talking to his own sister when he heard those words. He blinked and took a closer look, confirming that the person before him was indeed Xia Xi.
Yeah… probably just Brother Xia Xi picking up some speech habits after spending so much time with his sister…
“No trouble at all.”
Luo Xingchen shook his head, then turned his gaze back to his sister.
“Sis, I bought you some chocolate horns and left them in your room. There’s also some drinks in the fridge in your room. If you want hot milk, just ask the maid to grab it for you—I already heated the milk and left it in the kitchen.”
Xia Xi nodded and casually said thanks.
He hadn’t expected Luo Xingchen to be this attentive to his sister, even preparing little snacks to curb her cravings.
Though, to be fair, chocolate horn bread wasn’t really a snack either.
As they were about to part ways, Xia Xi still felt a bit uneasy and shot Luo Xinyu a questioning look, as if asking, “You good?”
Luo Xinyu returned the look with one that said, “Don’t worry.”
“Sigh, after all that going back and forth, I’m back in this familiar room in Luo Xinyu’s body.”
Arriving at Luo Xinyu’s room, Xia Xi sat down at the familiar desk. Several sheets of blank drawing paper were still laid out on it—even though the room’s owner hadn’t been home in a long time, paper and brushes were always kept ready.
Beside the desk sat a plastic bag of chocolate horns.
It’d been a long time since he’d eaten these. The last time was back when Luo Xinyu’s legs hadn’t healed yet.
Feeling a bit nostalgic, Xia Xi tore open a pack.
He still remembered what Luo Xinyu had said back then: “Who eats a chocolate horn like that? Such a waste~ You’re supposed to tear off the tip of the bread, dip it in the chocolate at the tail, and then put it in your mouth and chew slowly.”
Thinking back to how that young lady was so pure and kind, Xia Xi couldn’t help but crack a smile.
“I’m not doing it your way—I’m just gonna take a big bite~ Hmph~”
The girl’s pleasant voice carried a hint of pride, and then Xia Xi bit right into the tip of the chocolate horn.
Maybe he bit down too hard—the pressure at the tip caused some chocolate to ooze out from the tail and stick to his fingers.
Staring at the chocolate smeared on his fair fingers, Xia Xi, almost involuntarily, put them in his mouth and sucked.
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, he jolted, quickly pulled his hand out, and glanced guiltily at the door behind him. Only after confirming no one had seen did he let out a sigh of relief.
One chocolate horn wasn’t much—after finishing it, Xia Xi still wanted more.
Probably because of Luo Xinyu’s body, the chocolate horn, which was usually just ordinary food, tasted absolutely delicious to his senses.
But no matter how good something tastes, you can’t eat too much—especially high-calorie stuff like chocolate. If he went all out eating in Luo Xinyu’s body, he’d probably get death-glared by that young lady for sure.
After all, back in the day, Luo Xinyu even kept her main meals super light just to maintain her figure.
Feeling a bit bored in the room, Xia Xi’s gaze drifted to the drawing paper. He reached out with his soft, delicate little hand and pulled out a paintbrush.
Since there was nothing else to do, might as well draw~

On the other side.
Under Luo Xingchen’s guidance, Luo Xinyu arrived at the door of their father’s room.
“Brother Xia Xi, this is Dad’s room. If you don’t have any questions, I’ll be heading off now?”
Luo Xingchen had specifically skipped class today to welcome his sister—there was no way he was going to waste more time on this future brother-in-law.
Of course, he could’ve just asked his advisor for leave and gone home legitimately, since the advisor knew his background and would’ve gladly signed off on it.
But going to the advisor was such a hassle, and it always felt like begging for a favor. Might as well just skip class.
Usually, college professors don’t take attendance, and even if they did, Luo Xingchen had already told his buddies to cover for him.
“Alright, go do your thing.”
Luo Xinyu said calmly.
She knew exactly who her little brother was rushing off to see, but that didn’t matter—Xia Xi would definitely play her part well.
After all…
Luo Xinyu recalled a certain character he’d played in a game once.
After all, he’s a real soft-spoken young lady at heart~
Just thinking about it made her smile, and her mood brightened considerably.
She knocked lightly on the door, and a somewhat serious voice came from inside—Luo Jingcheng’s.
“Come in.”
“Sorry for the intrusion.”
Luo Xinyu pushed open the door and stepped in, only to find Luo Jingcheng brewing tea.
How strange—since when did her father know how to make tea?
