The group arrived at the resort. Aunt Linxi and Snow’s parents chose to relax inside the resort, leaving Snow Ji and the others to head to the beach on their own.
Right after putting away her luggage, Snow Ji changed into her swimsuit with a hint of awkwardness.
She looked at the white-haired girl in the mirror, clad in a one-piece swimsuit, and a faint blush crept onto her face.
“Guess I’m still not used to this…”
Her snow-white hair shimmered like satin, sleek and glossy. The conservative swimsuit hugged her curves just right, making her look even more pure and adorable.
Knock, knock, knock.
Someone rapped on Snow Ji’s door.
She quickly threw on a jacket before responding.
“Coming, coming! Who is it?”
“I’m here to sneak into your room tonight, Xiao Ji.”
Ling Xiaoxiao’s cheeky voice came from outside the door, making Snow Ji’s lips twitch.
Snow Ji opened the door, at a loss for words.
“A broad-daylight sneak attack, huh.”
She shot Ling Xiaoxiao a slightly exasperated look, her eyes slanting to the side.
But soon, her attention was fully captured by Ling Xiaoxiao.
Ling Xiaoxiao was wearing a red-and-white bikini with delicate sheer accents, her impressive assets on full display.
Generous and giving—that was Snow Ji’s genuine inner thought.
Ling Xiaoxiao noticed Snow Ji’s gaze drifting slightly downward and couldn’t hide her smile.
“Like what you see? If you haven’t had enough, I’ll let you look all you want tonight.” She placed her hands on Snow Ji’s shoulders, leaned in close to her ear, and whispered—deliberately brushing against her as she spoke.
“Ahem… we’ll see about that.” Snow Ji pretended to stay calm and averted her gaze.
“I’ll go get Shaya and Lilith.”
“No need. They said they wanted to give you a surprise and told us to go ahead first.” Ling Xiaoxiao was in a good mood, the corners of her mouth perpetually turned up as she spoke.
Snow Ji found it a bit odd, but when she messaged the two of them, they gave the same response.
Since this was a trip to unwind, she decided not to overthink it.
Snow Ji took the initiative to hold Ling Xiaoxiao’s hand and said, “Alright then, let’s go, Xiaoxiao.”
Ling Xiaoxiao nodded, a radiant smile blooming on her face like a rose in full bloom.
“Okay, I’ll follow your lead.”
“So, should we head to the east side of the island or the west?”
“Wherever you want. I’ve booked the whole island anyway, so anywhere you want to go is fine.” Ling Xiaoxiao tightened her grip on Snow Ji’s hand as she spoke.
“The whole island?!” Although Snow Ji wasn’t short on money these days, her spending habits hadn’t changed—she still waited for Gabe Newell’s sales before buying games. Hearing Ling Xiaoxiao’s extravagant move made her gasp.
“What, not enough?”
“Enough, enough. That’s way too over-the-top. You didn’t have to spend so much. Beaches are more fun with more people around anyway.”
Ling Xiaoxiao turned her head away at that, thinking to herself: But… I don’t want anyone else seeing you in a swimsuit.
And so, the two of them walked out hand in hand. Since the entire island was reserved, it didn’t matter where they went—they just wandered wherever their feet took them.
They made their way to the east coast and stopped on the beach.
It was ten in the morning, and the sunlight was just perfect.
By the seaside, on the golden sand, the two walked in silence.
All along the way, Snow Ji didn’t know what to say, while Ling Xiaoxiao simply gazed at her with a smile, not initiating conversation either.
Watching them together like this, two inflatable shark costumes standing in the distance looked visibly anxious, clutching their heads and chattering away about something.
Shen Dai took off her hood and yawned, asking, “What’s up with those two? Did they have another fight recently?”
Xia Jin lowered her voice and replied, “How should I know? This young lady was all ‘I’m going to stake my claim this time’ in front of me, but the moment she gets here, she turns into a love-struck fool who can’t even string a sentence together!”
“No way. I can’t accept this. I’ve got to create some opportunities for her.”
With that, Xia Jin put her hood back on and slinked away like a sneaky thief.
Shen Dai rolled her eyes and simply walked into the drink shop behind her. She was on standby here—if those two ever wanted a drink, that was her cue to shine.
Back on the beach, Snow Ji and Ling Xiaoxiao had set up a beach umbrella and laid out their things.
Just then, Xia Jin—wearing a straw hat, sunglasses, and a black two-piece swimsuit—approached with sunscreen in hand, grinning. “Hey there, beauties! With this blazing sun, you can’t go without some sunscreen, you know!”
Snow Ji turned to Ling Xiaoxiao and asked, “Should we get some?”
At that moment, Xia Jin started frantically making faces and gestures at Ling Xiaoxiao, her eyes almost pleading.
“No need. We don’t really need that stuff anyway.” Ling Xiaoxiao responded with an oddly confident look aimed at Xia Jin.
After knowing her for so long, Xia Jin finally saw the picture: her young lady was all talk and no game. When push came to shove, she wanted to micromanage everything herself.
Why she had such a strange stubbornness, Xia Jin couldn’t quite understand.
“But it might be nice to try it out. Here, let me… let me help you apply it…” Snow Ji said, a blush spreading across her fair face.
Snow Ji, you’re a lifesaver, Xia Jin thought gratefully.
With that said, Ling Xiaoxiao eventually gave in. She lay face-down on the lounger, leaving her bare back to Snow Ji.
Snow Ji gazed at the flawless skin on Ling Xiaoxiao’s back and her perfect body curves, swallowing hard.
“Alright then… here I go.”
“Mm, go ahead.” Ling Xiaoxiao’s voice had a faint tremor to it.
Snow Ji squeezed some sunscreen onto Ling Xiaoxiao’s back and gently smoothed it out with her hands.
“Mmm… ah~” Ling Xiaoxiao let out sounds that could easily be misinterpreted.
Her back turned out to be unexpectedly sensitive. The moment Snow Ji touched her waist, she trembled uncontrollably.
“Xiaoxiao, what’s wrong?” Snow Ji paused and asked with concern.
“Don’t… don’t stop.” Ling Xiaoxiao’s voice sounded like it was melting, stirring the imagination.
Snow Ji rubbed her lower back with both hands, and Ling Xiaoxiao moaned softly.
“There’s a spot on the back of a Chongming bird… a very sensitive spot… ahh.”
“Even after taking human form, that… stayed with me.”
Hearing that, Snow Ji slowed her movements. She’d only started out of curiosity, wanting to feel around a bit—she hadn’t expected this side effect.
Just as she was about to speak, Ling Xiaoxiao reached back and grabbed her hand, refusing to let her pull away.
“Xiao Ji… if it’s you, it’s okay.” She turned her head slightly, tears glistening at the corners of her eyes, her voice soft as a whisper.
How could Snow Ji retreat when the other had opened up so much? She used the gentlest touch she could muster to spread the white sunscreen evenly.
After another bout of blushing, heart-pounding moments, Snow Ji finally finished applying the sunscreen.
The two fell silent again, sitting back-to-back on the loungers.
“Xiao Ji… that’s not fair.”
“What’s not fair?”
“You must have planned this on purpose, picking a swimsuit that doesn’t show your back.” Ling Xiaoxiao’s voice was still soft, and the contrast with her usual ethereal, immortal-like composure made Snow Ji want to tease her even more.
“Oh? Want revenge? In your dreams~” Snow Ji sat down beside her and rested her foot on top of hers.
Ling Xiaoxiao stared at those fair, slender legs swaying right next to her, her heart itching with desire.
