The rune flashed in the air, and after erasing the dark figure, Izzy, who had been floating, fell to the ground.
Her jaw was dislocated, so she could only make “Ah-ah” sounds, unable to speak. But the fear in those sounds was crystal clear, even to someone who had no idea what was going on.
Having narrowly escaped death, she scrambled backward, and finally huddled together with Sarah, both of them trembling uncontrollably.
“You…”
Bill, who had collapsed to the ground from the intense pain, saw the young man’s back and immediately recognized him.
Wasn’t this the same eerie pedestrian who kept appearing in front of his car while he was driving earlier?
Why was he here?
But Bill’s attention was quickly drawn back to Doris, who was still in the air.
When the little girl saw the black-haired young man make that gesture, she was momentarily stunned. Then her face twisted into a terrifying grimace.
On the many dark figures drifting through the air, the black threads sewing their mouths shut snapped, one by one.
They all let out furious roars at the black-haired young man!
Wails and howls filled the air as darkness swept through the room. The sinister ghostly energy crashed over them, shattering everything inside the house.
The three people were terrified. They covered their heads and curled up, but they still looked over at the black-haired young man.
They saw that he hadn’t budged an inch. A faint, almost imperceptible smile played on his lips.
…………
After Su Fan entered the house, he saw the ritual the group was performing.
He had to resist the urge to applaud them.
Amazing.
People who would throw away their lives just to satisfy their own curiosity.
Since they liked courting death so much, let them suffer a little first.
Su Fan concealed his presence, bypassed the four people playing the Ouija board, and went deeper into the house to explore.
Before long, he found a hidden door.
Inside, Su Fan discovered a concealed boiler room and a box stuffed full of newspapers.
Flipping through them casually, he learned who the previous homeowner before the single mother really was.
It turned out that the very first owner had been a twisted researcher who had worked for the Third Reich.
Back in Germany, he had conducted countless cruel, inhuman experiments on prisoners.
Because he possessed a wealth of research data and knowledge, he wasn’t purged after the war. Instead, he was secretly transferred to the United States to conduct research for the government.
Among the people he had persecuted was a Polish soldier named Marcus.
The man had wanted to leave Europe to recover from the psychological trauma he’d suffered from the inhumane treatment he endured as a prisoner.
But as luck would have it, he ran into his “old acquaintance” working at a hospital.
And that researcher certainly wasn’t about to let him go.
The researcher secretly brought Marcus, along with other patients of similar backgrounds, to the boiler room in his own basement to continue his experiments.
To keep their agonized screams from attracting attention from outside, he simply sewed their mouths shut.
So, a group of Polish soldiers who had been subjected to human experimentation ended up being killed by a German on American soil, turning into ghosts who then terrorized Americans.
The only possible explanation for this bizarre turn of events was that they were all Jewish.
So, the very first time Su Fan saw them, he offered them a friendly and very “Jew-ish” greeting.
The evil spirits’ reactions fully confirmed Su Fan’s earlier guess.
“You!! You’re asking for it!!”
The horde of evil spirits all roared at Su Fan in unison.
Layers upon layers of dark, ghostly forms stretched out their spectral hands towards him, as if trying to drag him down to hell.
Spiritual energy rippled through the darkness, and the Evil-Repelling Talisman materialized in an instant. The entire process took less than two seconds.
As the power of the Evil-Repelling Talisman exploded outward, not only were the dark ghostly hands obliterated, several of the ghostly figures hiding in the darkness also burst apart!
The enraged spirits were stunned by Su Fan’s display of power. They didn’t dare attack recklessly for the moment, just circling around him, watching him like hawks.
Bill and the other two used this opportunity to huddle together again.
Izzy, unable to speak, tried to lead the other two away from this place, but Bill held her back and looked at Su Fan, surrounded by the horde of ghosts.
“Are you the exorcist Luke found? Is he safe now?”
“At least safer than you are right now.”
Bill felt a bit embarrassed by Su Fan’s calm reply.
“Thank you for saving us. If I get the chance, I’ll come thank you in person.”
After Bill said this, he looked at Sarah.
“Let’s go find Debbie together. She should still be in that living room.”
Sarah was the only one who wasn’t injured. Helping two injured people made their progress unsteady and slow.
Such weak and slow-moving prey naturally attracted the attention of many ghosts.
They knew Su Fan was a tough nut to crack, so they turned their attention to the three people.
From a corner, a ghostly figure with only its upper body suddenly crawled out, about to pounce on Sarah, who was supporting the other two.
But before it could, a hand grabbed its head and simply crushed it!
[You casually crushed a powerful evil spirit, annihilating its soul. Using your enhanced body feels more and more natural and effective.]
A powerful evil spirit?
Hearing the notification in his mind, Su Fan finally looked more closely at his surroundings.
Only then did he notice that, apart from Doris in the middle, the other dark figures all radiated a dense, sinister energy.
Every single one of them was no weaker than the female astrologer ghost he had subdued before.
“Interesting.”
The murderous aura on them wasn’t very strong. They had probably killed fewer people than Mary Shaw.
What had given these restless souls power that exceeded other ghosts of the same level?
Su Fan suddenly became curious.
“You went through all this trouble to get them to come back here for a séance. What’s your goal?”
“Goal?”
Doris let out a cold laugh and spoke.
“We died in a secret room without a ray of light. No one knows our suffering.”
“God can’t hear our prayers or our groans, so we don’t need to keep serving that damned false god anymore!”
“We’ll just trample on the commandments and despise life as we please!”
As Doris spoke, the surrounding evil spirits let out a chorus of mocking laughter.
“A faithful believer who turns to evil after their faith is destroyed becomes a much more powerful ghost…”
Su Fan understood.
While they were talking, several more dark figures tried to go after the three people, but Su Fan casually killed them, every single time.
Seeing their companions being killed so easily, the ghosts grew fearful. Instead of attacking him, it only made them more determined to pick on the weak.
They stirred restlessly, their forms starting to turn blurry and insubstantial, as if they were about to disperse into black mist the next second and slip past Su Fan.
Faced with this situation, Su Fan frowned.
This bunch of creatures was unbelievably cowardly.
He’d already killed several of them, and they still wouldn’t come and fight for their lives.
He didn’t have much spiritual energy to begin with. Using the Summoning spell on a bunch like this would be a terrible waste.
After thinking for a moment, Su Fan came up with a solution. Then, surrounded by the horde of ghosts, he started humming a little tune.
“A little flower blooms in the wilderness, her name is Erika…”
