With My Ability To Swap, I Will Never End Up In A Love Triangle Mess - Chapter 34
“Um… Mr. Ghost, can you hear me?”
The voice in his head was timid, as if afraid of offending the “evil spirit” that had possessed her body—summoned, she assumed, by her shrine maiden cosplay.
“C-could you… could you please give my body back?”
Unfortunately, Xia Xi had no intention of responding. The dorm wasn’t empty, and if he started talking to himself now, people would definitely think he’d lost his mind.
“What’s wrong, scared now? Hehe~ Fresh loli panties should fetch a pretty good price at auction~”
Hearing Xia Yue’s threat, Xia Xi smirked and mimicked Bai Xiaocha’s tone to fire back:
“If you dare do that, I’ll auction off your underwear too! Hehe~ Fresh, lovely girl’s intimate wear should sell for a fortune~”
“Xiao Cha!” Xia Yue panicked.
“Still arguing, still arguing?! You two—out! Now!”
Suddenly, a blinding flashlight beam shot through the window, flooding the entire dorm with light.
“Oh no, it’s the dean! We’re so dead!” Xia Yue freaked out even more.
Xia Xi, meanwhile, was just confused.
Had he stumbled into one of those classic high-school nighttime dorm raids? How nostalgic.
Back in his day, he’d been the one hiding under the covers playing on his phone, only to get caught by the sudden glare of a flashlight countless times.
“Xiao Cha, when we go out, let’s say we were reciting notes, okay? Don’t tell him we were chatting.”
Xia Yue hastily whispered instructions, then obediently climbed out of bed and headed for the door.
Xia Xi scratched his head (well, Bai Xiaocha’s head) and followed suit.
With the flashlight illuminating the room, the dorm’s layout became clear.
There were two bunk beds—four beds total—but only three occupants: Xia Yue, Bai Xiaocha, and a short-haired girl who was sleeping like a log.
“Huh? What’s going on…?”
The sudden brightness must have roused the short-haired girl, who groggily sat up.
“Pfft—Xiao Cha, Xiao Yue, you two got busted again? Hahahaha!”
Without a care for the dean standing right outside, the girl burst into laughter.
“Leng Xiyu, this doesn’t concern you. Go back to sleep—unless you want to join them outside?”
The dean was a man, yet he had no qualms about patrolling the girls’ dorms at night. Because of him, many girls didn’t dare sleep in anything too revealing.
Thankfully, every dorm had air conditioning—otherwise, they’d never survive the summer heat.
Some had complained to the school or even the education bureau, but nothing ever came of it. Eventually, everyone just learned to live with it.
“Oh, I’ll come out, alright. Who do you think you are?”
Leng Xiyu wasn’t about to take his attitude. She climbed down, flung the door open, and glared at the gaunt-faced dean with defiance.
“I’m out now. What are you gonna do, huh?”
Shielding Xia Yue and Bai Xiaocha behind her, she stared him down with clear hostility.
“Don’t be unreasonable!”
The dean truly had no leverage over her.
Her father had donated an entire library to the school. Even the principal treated her with respect.
“I am being unreasonable. What’s your punishment? Making three girls stand outside in the cold at midnight? Tch.”
With that, the dean had no choice but to back off and let them return to their beds.
I shouldn’t have come this way tonight. Nothing but trouble!
His eyes flicked over the three of them, lingering just a moment too long on Bai Xiaocha before he finally turned on his heel and stormed off, his obnoxiously bright flashlight leading the way.
“Sis Xiyu, you’re so cool!”
Xia Yue immediately latched onto Leng Xiyu’s arm, nuzzling her cheek against it like an affectionate kitten.
“Of course. You two little shrimps would’ve been bullied endlessly without me.”
Leng Xiyu didn’t bother being modest. She tilted her chin up proudly.
As a senior, she stood at 172 cm—towering over her petite roommates.
With her icy beauty and zero-tolerance attitude, she’d naturally taken on the role of the dorm’s protective big sister.
“Xiao Cha, don’t just stand there. Get back in bed before you catch a cold.”
“Okay~”
Xia Xi obediently climbed back under the covers.
Bai Xiaocha’s constant mental chatter had left him a little dazed.
“Aaaaah, Big Sis is so cool! I wanna bury my face in her chest! Waaah, stupid ghost, please give me my body back! I wanna snuggle with Big Sis too!”
No prizes for guessing who “Big Sis” was.
Xia Xi had no idea how Leng Xiyu—a fellow member of the Itty-Bitty Titty Committee—had managed to enchant Bai Xiaocha into this level of worship. The girl was practically a zealot.
This dorm couldn’t scrape together a C-cup between them.
“I was kinda sleepy earlier, but now I’m wide awake.”
Xia Yue tossed and turned in bed.
“Same. Xiao Cha, you’re not asleep already, are you?”
Leng Xiyu, who had the top bunk above Bai Xiaocha, tapped the bed frame when she got no response.
“Ah! I’m here!”
Xia Xi had been happily listening to Bai Xiaocha’s adorable mental ramblings and reacted a bit too loudly.
Combined with his current petite, doll-like appearance, it came off as hilariously clueless.
For some reason, ever since swapping into Bai Xiaocha’s body, his brain seemed to lag slightly—as if he’d actually gotten dumber.
“Pfft—Xiao Cha, you’re too cute! Keep this up, and I might not be able to control myself~”
Leng Xiyu couldn’t help but laugh.
This kind of ditzy, adorable little loli made her want to scoop her up, squeeze her tight, and melt at the sight of her teary, pouty face.
“Hey, since none of us can sleep… I’ve got an idea! Let’s tell ghost stories!”
Xia Yue smacked the mattress excitedly.
“We can even squeeze onto one bed, hide under the covers, use a dim light, and play creepy music in the background. Doesn’t that sound thrilling?”
The more she described it, the more pumped she got—especially imagining a certain someone trembling in fear.
“I don’t mind. That old dean probably won’t come back tonight. But Xiao Cha’s always been scared of ghost stories, hasn’t she?”
Leng Xiyu shrugged, though her tone was teasing.
“Wuwu… Big Sis really does care about me! Stupid Xia Yue just wants to scare me on purpose!”
Bai Xiaocha was moved to (mental) tears.
“Mr. Ghost, please, please don’t agree—”
Xia Xi: “I’m in!”
Bai Xiaocha: “…”
