Super Doctor - Chapter 87
Xu Ze tucked the envelope under his pillow, steadied his emotions, and focused his mind on his dantian—the energy center of his body. Slowly, he began circulating his internal energy through the Ren and Du meridians, guiding it downward from his dantian. The energy flowed through his perineum, mingmen, zhiyang, and dazhui acupoints before rising to the baihui at the crown of his head and then descending through his yintang (third eye)…
As the energy cycled, particles of external energy surged into his body, merging with his own energy flow. The energy mass within him grew stronger, expanding with each revolution.
The immense energy circulated rapidly—one cycle, two cycles… seven, eight… eleven, twelve…
A faint sheen of sweat formed on Xu Ze’s forehead. His slender eyebrows furrowed slightly, and his thin lips pressed together tightly, as if he were exerting tremendous effort.
Inside his body, the thirteenth energy cycle had reached the dazhui point at the base of his neck, inching upward at a snail’s pace. Xu Ze poured all his concentration into pushing the energy forward, but every millimeter required immense mental effort. The distance to the baihui point at the top of his head still seemed daunting…
Yet, Xu Ze remained perfectly calm. Despite the strain, not a single ripple of his mental energy leaked outward—an astonishing feat of control.
Meanwhile, in the virtual space, Xiao Dao rolled around excitedly as he watched the energy reserves skyrocket.
“Faster! Faster! Keep going! This is amazing! It’s been so long since I’ve felt this energized!”
Giddy with excitement, he monitored the rising energy levels, calculating how soon they’d reach 100%. Recently, Xu Ze had been using the system’s functions less frequently, reducing unnecessary energy drains. Combined with Xu Ze’s relentless training, the surplus energy had accumulated impressively.
Once the reserves hit full capacity, the system’s speed would increase, allowing Xiao Dao to experiment with new functions—maybe even use the excess energy to enhance Xu Ze’s physical condition gradually.
“Come on, faster!” Xiao Dao cheered, realizing Xu Ze was attempting the thirteenth cycle. Success would mean even greater daily energy absorption, fueling his excitement further.
But something puzzled him.
Usually, when Xu Ze pushed for a breakthrough, some mental energy would inevitably spill out—a common issue even among elite medics. Yet this time, despite his intense focus, not a single drop of mental energy was wasted.
“This level of mental refinement usually only appears in high-level medics—rank six or above. How is a rank-one medic like Xu Ze pulling this off?”
After a quick analysis, Xiao Dao concluded that Xu Ze must have entered an extremely focused state, likely triggered by some recent emotional stimulus.
“Lucky guy. With this level of concentration, he might actually break through in one go.”
And he did.
After half an hour of relentless effort, the energy mass finally traversed the distance from dazhui to baihui, completing the thirteenth cycle before flowing back down to his dantian.
Xu Ze exhaled slowly and opened his eyes, a faint smile of satisfaction on his face.
“Another breakthrough—thirteen cycles. The energy in my dantian has grown noticeably stronger. If I keep this up, reaching eighteen cycles is just a matter of time.”
When he entered the virtual space, Xiao Dao greeted him with a grin.
“Congratulations! Another breakthrough in such a short time!”
Then, with a mischievous glint, he added, “Want a little gift?”
“A gift?” Xu Ze’s eyes lit up. Xiao Dao’s “gifts” were always worthwhile.
“Yes, absolutely!”
“Good. I was planning to teach you this sooner, but the data wasn’t complete. Now that it’s ready, we can begin. Don’t worry about skipping a day or two of combat training with Bond—it’s not like you’re fighting any wars right now.”
With a wave of his hand, Xiao Dao summoned a dazzling machine at the center of the virtual space.
Xu Ze’s jaw dropped as he circled the sleek, winged emblem.
“An Aston Martin?!”
“Correct. The Aston Martin DBS Volante Manual—one of their most stunning models. A certain famous spy seemed quite fond of it, so I thought we’d borrow it for today.”
Xu Ze ran his fingers over the glossy red exterior, awestruck. Then he shot Xiao Dao a mock glare.
“Do you have to tease me with a car this luxurious? If I get used to driving this, how am I supposed to go back to reality where I can’t afford it?”
Xiao Dao shrugged innocently.
“Fine. We can switch to a regular pickup truck if you prefer.”
“No, no! Let’s stick with this one. At least let me enjoy the fantasy!” Xu Ze laughed, quickly climbing into the driver’s seat.
The interior was a masterpiece—full-grain leather, alloy dashboard trim, and a sleek iridium silver console.
“This is beyond cool,” Xu Ze murmured.
“Alright, get comfortable. We’re starting now.”
Three hours later, the once-clumsy novice was now speeding down a virtual highway at 280 km/h, whooping with exhilaration.
Xiao Dao watched, amused.
“No matter the era, men will always have this same passion for speed and fine machines.”
Seeing the usually reserved Xu Ze so fired up was rare—and utterly entertaining.
“Want something even more exciting?” Xiao Dao smirked.
With a snap of his fingers, a massive truck materialized ahead, barreling straight toward them.
“WHAT THE—?!” Xu Ze yanked the wheel, tires screeching as the car swerved violently, clipped the guardrail, and spun wildly before skidding to a stop.
Pale-faced, he shoved the airbag aside and glared at Xiao Dao.
“Are you trying to kill me?!”
“Relax, dear Xu. A super medic needs sharp reflexes. This is excellent training—just in case you ever drive this fast in real life.”
“Now, let’s continue. But let’s switch to something more… ordinary.” Another wave, and the Aston Martin morphed into a plain sedan.
Xu Ze glanced at the steering wheel’s familiar logo, then out the window.
“A Santana? Really? The most basic model?”
He sighed.
“Well, at least it’s realistic.”
