Super Doctor - Chapter 61
In the virtual space, Xiao Dao grinned at Xu Ze and said, “Hey kid, not bad! You’ve actually managed to get close to the campus belle. Impressive, very impressive…”
“Tch… ‘Get close’? We’re just friends! What do you know, you’re just a computer…” Xu Ze snorted, shamelessly mocking Xiao Dao. He hated it when Xiao Dao brought up this kind of topic and rambled on about it.
Xiao Dao, however, had a naturally masochistic streak. As the only intelligent system in this world, he actually enjoyed being scolded or put down by Xu Ze a dozen times a day—otherwise, life would be far too lonely and boring.
So, completely unfazed by Xu Ze’s remarks, Xiao Dao continued grinning. “This isn’t just friendship. According to my rigorous analysis using the Galaxy Micro-Core, there’s an 80% chance Sun Lingfei has strong feelings for you—romantic feelings. With her personality, she’d never let just anyone pose as her boyfriend in front of others, even as a fake arrangement.”
“Absolutely never,” Xiao Dao added with a sly smirk, his eyes glinting mischievously. “So… kid, step up your game. You’ve got a real shot here. I’m rooting for you.”
“Wha—?” Xu Ze froze, his mind racing chaotically. How is that possible? Sun Lingfei likes me? Okay, maybe she’s friendly, but romantic feelings? No way!
The more he thought about it, the more his head spun. Sun Lingfei had never shown interest in any guy—not even campus heartthrobs like Li Yuxuan, the student council president, or Zhang Tianyu, the basketball star. Xu Ze had never even considered the possibility of a romantic connection with her.
But Xiao Dao’s analysis was never wrong. Equipped with the Galaxy Micro-Core and a fully simulated emotional system, Xiao Dao’s deductions had always been spot-on so far.
Xu Ze’s thoughts swirled in confusion until he finally gave up. Whatever. I never even thought about this. The memory of the last incident still haunted him, and right now, romance was the last thing on his mind. Besides, someone as outstanding and proud as Sun Lingfei? That was just asking for trouble.
With a bitter smile, he pushed the headache-inducing issue aside. Who knows how things will turn out? For now, I’ll just maintain our current relationship. If there’s really something there… well, that’s a problem for future me.
Having made up his mind, Xu Ze decided to prevent future headaches by sternly warning Xiao Dao: “From now on, no more snooping into my personal life. Understood?”
“Ugh…” Xiao Dao deflated instantly. Just when he’d found something fun to do, Xu Ze had to go and ruin it. But unless it violated the Super Medic Training Program’s protocols, he had to obey Xu Ze’s orders. Reluctantly, he agreed—no more unauthorized peeking into Xu Ze’s private affairs.
…
Xu Ze had already completed the first phase of his Super Medic training: Primary Basic Medicine and Primary Battlefield First Aid. These days, his virtual sessions focused less on studying and more on basketball drills with Bond.
But today, Xiao Dao introduced a new course—Combat Training.
“Combat training?” Xu Ze blinked, baffled. This virtual space really has everything—basketball, now fighting? “Why do I need to learn this?”
Xiao Dao smirked. “A Super Medic isn’t just about medical skills. You need combat prowess too. Otherwise, how ‘super’ would you really be?”
“…” Xu Ze was speechless. He hadn’t been in a fight since middle school and had never planned to start. Yet here he was, being forced to learn how to brawl.
Still, he wasn’t entirely opposed. What guy didn’t secretly fantasize about being a badass? Maybe this could boost his charm, earn some admiring glances, or even lead to a heroic rescue someday.
As Xu Ze’s anticipation grew, Xiao Dao transformed—and the combat instructor appeared.
But Xu Ze’s jaw dropped.
It was Bond again.
Did Xiao Dao just recycle him to save system resources? Xu Ze wondered, trying to rationalize it.
Bond flashed his signature white-toothed grin. “I’m Colonel Bond, the Federation’s top virtual combat instructor. Trained five champions in the Federal Combat Championships. Welcome to your combat training.”
Xu Ze: “…”
Still, Xiao Dao wouldn’t joke about this. If Bond was the instructor, he must be legit.
So, with renewed enthusiasm, Xu Ze prepared to learn from the all-powerful, multi-talented, futuristic Colonel Bond—ready to transform into a Superman-wannabe.
…Or so he thought.
Reality, as usual, had other plans.
Within 30 minutes, Xu Ze learned the true meaning of pain.
Combat Principles (According to Bond):
- “Real combat isn’t about rigid techniques. Adapt. Use fists, elbows, knees, throws—whatever works to take down your opponent.”
- “Master stance, footwork, strikes, and grappling. Then build strength, flexibility, and reflexes through real-world practice.”
After demonstrating basics, Bond launched into what he called “efficiency-focused live training.”
For the next hour, the virtual space echoed with Xu Ze’s grunts, gasps, and muffled swearing.
Yet despite his suffering, Xu Ze stubbornly refused to quit—a trait that made Xiao Dao nod in approval.
“Sorry, Xu,” Xiao Dao whispered, watching smugly. “This was supposed to wait until Level 2, but… well, rumor has it your ‘rival’ knows a thing or two about fighting. With your F-grade physique, you should win—but better safe than sorry, right? Can’t have you humiliated in front of your crush.”
He chuckled, then added (with zero shame), “Besides, as the future Super Medic and my glorious host, you can’t be some punching bag. What would that say about me? My reputation’s on the line here!”
