Special Agent’s Rebirth: The Almighty Goddess of Quick Transmigration - Chapter 323
The sinister aura in the air at this moment felt almost explosive.
“I would beg you?” The Second Wife spat out, “Keep dreaming! I wouldn’t beg you even in my next life!”
She wanted to say more, but the sheer, menacing aura radiating from Ye Shaohua gave her a fright. Though her mouth remained hard, she didn’t dare speak loudly anymore.
Turning her head, she saw the First Lady looking at Ye Shaohua with hopeful expectation. The Second Wife just sneered inwardly. If this woman could truly save Bai Ziyun, it would be nothing short of a miracle!
“First Lady, do you have these herbs?” Because the old man Xu who raised the original host was an herb farmer, Ye Shaohua knew a little about the medicinal herbs of this world. She listed the ingredients she needed.
“I have these,” the Master Alchemist, Murong, interjected before the First Lady could speak, pulling three plants from his spatial ring. “Here. But he cannot absorb any medicinal ingredients at all.”
Taking the herbs, Ye Shaohua promptly prepared a simple potion right there on the spot. It was somewhat crude, but it was the only thing Bai Ziyun’s body could currently accept.
“I’ll just watch what tricks you’re trying to pull!” The Second Wife stared intently at Ye Shaohua, waiting for her to finish all her methods so she could order the guards to seize her and throw her into the dungeons. Only a hundred beatings would quell the hatred in her heart.
Everyone watched Ye Shaohua’s movements.
Master Murong initially frowned, but as Ye Shaohua administered the potion to Bai Ziyun, his expression gradually shifted to one of astonishment.
The guards and maids in the hall, along with the onlookers outside the main door, one by one stopped their muttered jokes and stared slack-jawed towards the main hall.
The First Lady was blocking the Second Wife’s view. Unable to see what was happening inside, the Second Wife moved to another spot to look at Bai Ziyun, expecting to see him half-dead as he usually was during his episodes over the past year.
But when she looked up, she saw Bai Ziyun, who had been unconscious, now open his eyes. Those pitch-black pupils were fixed on her, deep and unfathomable like a still pool.
When had anyone ever seen the listless Young Master look like this?
The Second Wife froze on the spot, feeling an eerie sensation of being stared down by death itself.
The guards, who had been ready to drag Ye Shaohua away, nearly dropped to their knees in fright.
But Master Murong looked at Ye Shaohua, and the more he looked, the more surprised he became. “Ye Shaohua, Miss Ye, are you interested in alchemy? Be my disciple!”
Master Murong had already taken out his diagnostic stone. He asked Bai Ziyun to place his hand on it.
Bai Ziyun watched as Ye Shaohua calmly put away her silver needles, then let out a noncommittal “Hmm.” His pale, slender hand rested on the diagnostic stone.
Watching the color changes on the stone, Master Murong’s mind buzzed with shock.
“Master… Master?” Seeing Master Murong standing there dumbfounded, Old Master Bai felt apprehensive. “How is my son?”
After standing stunned for a long moment, Master Murong finally snapped back to reality. “He’s better! The blocked meridians in the Young Master’s body… they are completely clear and unobstructed! Although his body hasn’t fully recovered yet, with proper recuperation, he will be completely healed within half a month!”
Most people present didn’t know Master Murong’s exact identity, but his authority was undeniable.
Ye Shaohua, having finished packing her silver needles, finally spoke. “It won’t even take half a month. The Young Master has a good foundation; five days will be enough. However, he must not be given any elixirs during these five days.”
Hearing this, the First Lady wept for joy, her hands trembling so much she didn’t know where to put them. She nodded repeatedly at Ye Shaohua’s words, her gaze filled with gratitude and newfound respect.
“The Bai Family’s Young Master is really cured?!” People outside the door craned their necks, trying to get a clearer look.
Those standing further back, unable to see, were almost jumping with anxiety.
Over the past year, Old Master Bai had tried countless methods, even alchemists were at a loss. Everyone in the city knew the Bai Family’s Young Master was beyond help.
Yet now, he was awake!
“How is that possible? You must be seeing things!” some of those at the back, unable to see what was happening, said impatiently.
The person who had been questioned flushed red. “It’s true! I saw the Bai Family’s Young Master stand up. He was walking, even more lightly and swiftly than an ordinary person! Even that master alchemist said the Young Master is fine now!”
After these words, the crowd erupted once more, faces full of disbelief.
Yet, they couldn’t find words to refute it, only staring at Ye Shaohua in shock.
Just moments before, these very people had looked down on this lowly commoner, wishing to keep hundreds of meters away from her. Now, however, they harbored no such thoughts. Instead, they refused to believe she was merely a lowly commoner.
What lowly commoner had such skill?
Just who was this young girl?!
Old Master Bai now didn’t dare look down on Ye Shaohua either. He spoke respectfully, “Might I ask the young lady’s esteemed name? Our Bai Family will surely reward you heavily.”
“Ye Shaohua,” she replied indifferently.
She glanced at Bai Ziyun once more, then withdrew her gaze, thinking to herself that this should be enough to get Old Master Bai to part with some precious herbs. She named a few specific herbs, and Old Master Bai did not refuse.
However, he said they couldn’t be prepared immediately and asked Ye Shaohua to wait a while.
Master Murong, meanwhile, looked at Ye Shaohua, his surprise and delight growing the more he looked. “Ye Shaohua, Miss Ye, right? Are you interested in alchemy? Become my disciple!”
Ye Shaohua glanced at him. “No. I need to return to the Liu family first. Old Master Bai, I will come back later to collect the herbs.”
“Why not?!” Master Murong widened his eyes. “You have such talent, why not learn alchemy!”
“A steward I know told me that the alchemists from the Profound Sky Sect will be here in three days to take disciples,” Ye Shaohua explained patiently. “I plan to wait for them.”
Hearing this explanation, Master Murong’s initially anxious face relaxed. “Those so-called alchemists from the Profound Sky Sect are nowhere near as skilled as I am! Let me tell you, even Liu Yang, the Head Alchemist of the Profound Sky Sect, has to kneel when he sees me! So, how about it? Do you want to learn from me?”
Before Ye Shaohua could respond to this, a shrill, piercing voice cut through the air.
“Bai Ziyun is better? He’s actually better! That lowly commoner really can save people! Mother, quickly, make that lowly commoner come and save me!”
