Skills with no cooldown? I become the Undead Scourge! - Chapter 64
“A Rogue?” Lu Ran was somewhat surprised as he glanced at the newcomer’s information.
Even a conventional profession had come in.
But almost immediately, Lu Ran understood.
He realized, “Oh, I see. You plan to use the Rogue’s stealth for a surprise attack, to burst me down in one combo.”
The Rogue on the other side was equally confused.
That was indeed his plan, but looking up, he saw a level 25 Necromancer standing opposite him?
He even wondered if he had entered the wrong room.
“A level 25 Necromancer?” Alex raised an eyebrow, his expression strange.
“Yep,” Lu Ran replied casually.
The countdown had already begun.
Alex frowned and said, “I don’t know what trick you used to kill those two losers before me, but I won’t make the same mistake. I’ll kill you within thirty seconds of the fight starting!”
“Oh,” Lu Ran responded lazily.
This indifferent, casual attitude made Alex grit his teeth in fury.
He directly drew an emerald-green dagger.
Clearly, it was even poisoned.
Lu Ran glanced at him, pulled out his staff, and began summoning.
The best way to deal with an assassin’s stealth skills was to let them hit you!
The summoned creatures were there to absorb the damage.
With the ‘Damage Transference’ attribute, Lu Ran simply couldn’t die!
His first choice for summoning was the Ancient Golems. Ancient Golems were tanky summons. Summoning them en masse would render Alex’s burst damage useless, no matter what.
At this moment.
Alex seemed to realize something, his eyes widening in shock.
“You… you can summon Ancient Golems infinitely!” he exclaimed in surprise.
Lu Ran couldn’t be bothered to respond and continued his summoning.
“Hah, what good does that do! No matter how many Ancient Golems you have, they can’t see me! Necromancers don’t have any skills to detect or break stealth. Once you’re dead, these stupid things will disappear too!” Alex sneered.
Although he was shocked by Lu Ran’s ability, that was all.
It couldn’t affect him!
Lu Ran glanced at Alex and said amusedly, “You don’t actually think I relied solely on these Ancient Golems to kill those two losers before you, do you?”
Hearing this, Alex jolted.
He immediately realized.
Right!
Even with many Ancient Golems, Lander and Baron should have been able to handle them!
While Ancient Golems had high health and defense, their movement speed and attack rate were very low; they were just tanky summons!
They could have been completely ignored!
The real target was just a level 25 Necromancer!
Yet Lander and Baron hadn’t succeeded; instead, they were killed!
Thinking of this, Alex’s heart twitched violently. Like Baron before him, he guessed this Necromancer must have other tricks up his sleeve!
Just then, the three-minute preparation time ended, and the safe zone barrier disappeared!
Alex looked up. In the short time, Lu Ran had summoned nearly a hundred Ancient Golems, densely packed and crowding around him!
“Do you think this can stop me?” Alex had no time to hesitate. He immediately used Stealth and vanished on the spot.
Lu Ran, amidst the crowd of Ancient Golems, looked around, then waited patiently, even seeming a bit bored.
A few seconds later.
Thwip!
Lu Ran was attacked. Alex, having initiated the attack, became visible again, materializing behind Lu Ran.
The dagger thrust upward from below, burying itself completely!
“YEOOOWCH~” Lu Ran let out a miserable howl, jumping three feet into the air.
Lu Ran’s face turned green—though it was unclear if it was from the poisoned dagger’s effect or sheer rage.
He scrambled to the side, clamping his legs together, one hand clutching the injured area, the corner of his mouth twitching.
“Alright, alright, you want to play like that, huh?” The fury in Lu Ran’s heart surged exponentially!
Couldn’t you just use the Backstab skill normally? Was this really necessary?
Alex was also stunned.
His single Backstab, enhanced with Poison, Barbed, Assault, Critical Hit, and other buffs, had failed to instantly kill this level 25 Necromancer!
And furthermore…
The Necromancer hadn’t lost any health!
His health bar hadn’t budged, not a single drop of blood lost!
“Invincible…” Alex was utterly dumbfounded.
Infinite Ancient Golem summons? He could handle that, no big deal. But taking no damage from attacks? What the hell kind of monster was this!
He wanted to press the attack, but immediately found himself rooted in place by Death’s Touch, unable to move.
He wasn’t too worried yet, just stared at Lu Ran, planning to rush in with another combo as soon as the root effect wore off. He was puzzled why the surrounding Ancient Golems weren’t focusing their fire on him during this opportunity.
But after a few seconds, Alex realized the Death’s Touch at his feet was still there!
He still couldn’t move!
“What’s going on? Why can’t I move?” Alex cried out in shock.
“Move your ass! Now it’s my turn for payback!” Lu Ran cursed angrily.
He then raised his hand, continuously summoning Skeleton Soldiers, two at a time, emerging constantly.
He intermittently recast Death’s Touch to ensure Alex remained immobilized.
Then, a large group of Skeleton Soldiers rushed forward.
But this time, it wasn’t for Corpse Explosion. Instead, they swarmed Alex, grabbing his arms and pinning him firmly in place.
Alex was bewildered, unsure what Lu Ran intended.
But when he saw some of the Skeleton Soldiers, in a rather peculiar posture, raising their rusted short swords, holding them ready to thrust forward, angled slightly upward, hunching their backs as they shuffled towards his rear end, Alex’s face instantly paled in horror!
He realized something was terribly wrong.
He began struggling frantically, his dagger constantly cutting down the surrounding Skeleton Soldiers.
But there were just too many of them!
He barely managed to free a hand and kill a few before more Skeleton Soldiers immediately grabbed his arms again.
From behind, the Skeleton Soldiers sneakily advanced.
Their short swords were rusted and corroded by time. While the blades were worn, the corrosion had left them with irregular, jagged, serrated edges. Nearly a foot long, a single glance was enough to make one’s liver tremble!
“Kill me! Just kill me now!” Alex roared, struggling in agony.
But Lu Ran showed no reaction.
“Please, kill me! Kill me quickly! I was wrong, I—”
Thwp~
Alex’s screams were cut short. His mouth hung open, but the sound in his throat seemed strangled, unable to escape.
Then, the real torture began.
Thwip~
Thwip~
Thwip~
One group of Skeleton Soldiers held Alex firmly in place, while another group excitedly attacked from behind. The damage per hit wasn’t high, but the numbers floating up were all yellow—the color indicating critical damage from hitting a weak point!
A full eight minutes!
A full eight minutes!
Alex was filled with immense regret. Tears streamed silently down his cheeks. At this moment, he only wished for death, and regretted not using Backstab on Lu Ran normally.
At least then, he wouldn’t have died in such agony.
