Skills with no cooldown? I become the Undead Scourge! - Chapter 12
Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh—
Dark mist continuously erupted from the Frost Wolf Staff, the rapid casting making it look like a thick fog had exploded!
Before Lu Ran’s eyes, skeleton soldiers popped into existence one after another—bang, bang, bang!
A dense horde of skeletal warriors pressed forward, swarming toward the three assassins. The sight was enough to make anyone’s scalp tingle.
At this moment, Qin Wuyao and the three assassins were completely stunned.
“That’s the basic undead summoning skill for Necromancers?”
“How the hell is he summoning so many?!”
“Dammit, does this guy have no cooldown on his summons?!”
“Kill him! Kill him now! He’s Level 8—he’s got Corpse Explosion at Level 5!”
One of the assassins quickly realized something was wrong.
They had looked down on an Level 8 Necromancer because, normally, an Level 8 Necromancer could only summon two skeleton soldiers.
And could only use two Corpse Explosions!
But right now… this hundred-plus skeleton army was the equivalent of fifty Level 8 Necromancers!
Even ants could kill an elephant if there were enough of them—and these assassins were only Level 18!
Beside Lu Ran, Qin Wuyao’s mind blanked as she finally understood how he had cleared the dungeon so easily.
With an undead army like this, a Level 5 dungeon would be a cakewalk—just bulldoze straight through!
BOOM!
Suddenly, the first skeleton soldier reached the assassins—and detonated on the spot!
The shockwave engulfed all three, dealing damage and revealing their health bars to Lu Ran.
Then, the surrounding skeletons swarmed them—not a single one attacking normally with their blades. Instead, they all self-destructed in a chain of Corpse Explosions!
The assassins’ HP plummeted at a terrifying rate!
One of the youths paled, then suddenly leaped into the air, lunging at Lu Ran with a blurred afterimage trailing behind him.
“Shadow Strike! Lu Ran, watch out!” Qin Wuyao’s face drained of color.
But her warning came too late.
Shadow Strike was an assassin’s unique skill—near-instantaneous. The dagger stabbed straight into Lu Ran’s chest.
“Got him!” The assassin grinned in triumph.
But when he looked up…
Lu Ran’s HP bar hadn’t moved an inch.
Not only had he failed to one-shot him… the guy hadn’t even taken damage!
“Triple Thrust!” Gritting his teeth, the assassin unleashed his second skill without hesitation.
Stab-stab-stab!
The dagger flashed like lightning, striking Lu Ran three times in rapid succession—each hit stronger than the last, the damage escalating.
Yet…
Lu Ran’s HP bar still didn’t budge.
What the assassin didn’t notice was that four of Lu Ran’s skeleton soldiers had dropped dead in that instant.
Two skills, four hits—all redirected through Lu Ran’s Damage Transfer trait, instantly killing four skeletons.
But Lu Ran himself? Completely unharmed.
The assassin’s jaw dropped.
He was a Level 18 assassin! Two skills—and he couldn’t even kill a Level 8 mage?!
Face-to-face, Lu Ran bared his teeth—not to intimidate, but because Damage Transfer might negate the damage…
But the pain was still very real.
Then—
BOOM!
The twenty-plus skeleton soldiers Lu Ran had prepped around him all exploded at once!
The assassin had no time to react. His HP bar instantly emptied, and he collapsed to the ground, motionless.
Lu Ran glanced at the other two assassins—one was already dead from the earlier explosions.
The last one had managed to dodge a few blasts, frantically retreating…
But this was a dead end.
Nowhere left to run.
As the remaining forty to fifty skeletons closed in like a dark tide, the assassin screamed:
“DON’T KILL ME! I—I HAVE MONEY! I’LL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING! EQUIPMENT TOO!”
Lu Ran chuckled.
“Kill you, and it’s all mine anyway,” he said coolly. “You taught me that. Or did you forget?”
Mercy wasn’t an option.
If Lu Ran didn’t have his golden trait, he’d be the one begging for his life right now.
And he knew—no matter how much he pleaded, these three would never have spared him.
So, as the assassin’s desperate cries filled the air, the remaining skeletons closed in—
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
Twenty explosions later, his HP bar hit zero.
Just like that—all three assassins were dead.
And Lu Ran still had over twenty skeleton soldiers left unused.
Seeing his mana regen tick up slightly, he casually summoned ten more for good measure.
This was White Tiger Gully, after all. Better safe than sorry.
Qin Wuyao finally snapped out of her daze, staring at Lu Ran like he was some kind of monster.
Especially after witnessing that onslaught of explosions up close.
Absolutely terrifying.
Luckily, she and Lu Ran were partied up—Corpse Explosion didn’t harm allies.
*”Why are you just standing there? Loot them. We agreed on a 70-30 split,”* Lu Ran called out, already rifling through the nearest assassin’s pack.
This was his first time looting corpses, and damn—the haul was good.
Just from this one guy:
-
Over 80,000 gold coins
-
A Level 20 Epic-grade dagger (shame it was assassin-only)
-
A few Rare-grade backup pieces (better than nothing)
Qin Wuyao stood frozen, so Lu Ran moved on to the other two bodies without waiting.
“So this is how he does it…” Qin Wuyao swallowed hard.
Now she fully understood how Lu Ran had cleared the dungeon.
An undead horde steamrolling everything. Corpse Explosion clearing the path.
What Level 5 Frost Wolf could possibly survive that?
Even the elite wolves and the final boss would’ve been blown to bits in seconds!
And now she got why Lu Ran didn’t need a healer.
Because the monsters never even touched him!
And even if they did—
This guy didn’t take damage!
A Level 18 assassin had dumped two skills into him, and his HP bar hadn’t flickered!
This was… insane.
No damage taken. Insane clear speed.
Compared to him, her hidden class felt pathetic.
Like comparing heaven to dirt.
“Done looting. Total gold: 150,000. Your 30% cut is…” Lu Ran started calculating.
“Keep it all,” Qin Wuyao said immediately.
“You sure? What about the gear—”
“All yours. You saved my life. Consider it payment.”
She wasn’t hurting for money, and the gear was assassin-only anyway.
Lu Ran grinned. This trip’s profits were sweet.
“In that case, let’s hit that Rift Dungeon. You could use the EXP,” he said cheerfully, leading the way out.
As they walked, he topped off his skeleton count with his regenerating mana.
Any Blaze-Tail Tigers in their path?
BOOM. Corpse Explosion.
Qin Wuyao could only watch in awe as this Level 8 Necromancer strutted through White Tiger Gully like he owned the place—casually annihilating everything in his path.
“How did you…?” she started to ask, then caught herself.
A secret like this… just seeing it was rare enough. Asking outright would be too much.
She’d always been sharp—knew what questions not to press.
So she changed tack:
“Let’s go clear that Rift Dungeon. You take all the loot—I just need the EXP.”
