My Amazing WeChat is Connected to the Three Realms - Chapter 45
“Scare her a bit,” Lin Hai communicated with Hu Xiuer through his thoughts.
Hu Xiuer grinned and floated behind Peng Xue, blowing a cold breath on her neck.
Peng Xue felt a sudden chill and broke out in goosebumps. She turned around in a panic but saw nothing.
“Hmph!” Peng Xue felt a shiver run down her spine and quickly retreated back into the house.
“Xiao Lin, ghosts don’t exist in this world. What’s really going on with my dad?” Peng Tao was also growing impatient, feeling that Lin Hai was just messing around.
Only Du Chun, who blindly trusted Lin Hai, wore a serious expression.
“Director Du, your young master says there’s a ghost here? Oh, MY GOD! This is insane.” Smith also looked skeptical.
“To the garden,” Lin Hai said, not bothering to explain further, and walked out of the house first.
Following Hu Xiuer’s instructions, Lin Hai stopped at a specific spot in the garden.
“Dig here, two meters down,” Lin Hai pointed to a patch of blooming flowers.
“This…” Peng Tao was confused. “Why dig here?”
Lin Hai frowned, growing impatient.
“If you want to cure your dad, do as I say. Don’t ask questions.”
“Fine!” Peng Tao gritted his teeth. Since he had chosen to trust Lin Hai, he might as well go all the way and see what tricks Lin Hai had up his sleeve.
Grabbing a shovel, Peng Tao started digging himself.
“What are you doing? What are you doing!” Zhou Xiao rushed out of the villa in a panic.
“Ah! My flowers!” Seeing the garden being torn apart and her carefully planted flowers tossed aside, Zhou Xiao was furious.
“Xiao Tao, stop this! Get this lunatic out of here!” Zhou Xiao pointed at Lin Hai, screaming at the top of her lungs.
Peng Xue also came out and was shocked. This garden was her mother’s pride and joy.
“Brother, this is too much! Look how mad Mom is! He’s definitely a fraud, spouting nonsense to scam money. If you arrest him and interrogate him, he’ll confess.”
Lin Hai sneered.
“Whether you dig or not is up to you.”
Once you start, there’s no turning back. Peng Tao steeled himself and kept digging.
“Mom, don’t interfere,” Peng Tao said, raising the shovel again.
“Stop it!” Zhou Xiao grabbed the shovel, trying to pull it back, and a tug-of-war ensued between her and Peng Tao.
Well, Peng Tao couldn’t keep digging.
“Looks like it’s your turn,” Lin Hai shrugged, communicating with Hu Xiuer through his thoughts.
Hu Xiuer stared at Zhou Xiao, her eyes turning icy cold.
She floated right up to Zhou Xiao, almost face-to-face.
“Ah!” Zhou Xiao felt a chilling breeze wrap around her, making her extremely uncomfortable. She let out a scream.
“Better step aside. I told you, this place is haunted,” Lin Hai said nonchalantly.
Zhou Xiao numbly let go of the shovel. The bone-chilling cold she had just felt made her believe Lin Hai’s words.
With no more obstacles, Peng Tao quickly dug a large hole.
“Stop!” Lin Hai halted Peng Tao, stepped forward, took the shovel, and brushed away the loose soil.
Instantly, a skeleton was revealed in the pit.
Peng Tao felt a cold shiver run up his spine, his eyes filled with horror.
As the head of the police bureau, he had seen skeletons before. Even gruesome dismembered bodies didn’t scare him.
But this was different. No one had known there was a skeleton here, yet Lin Hai had directed him to dig it up.
This made him start to believe Lin Hai’s words.
Could there really be ghosts in this world?
“OH, MY GOD!” Smith was also shocked.
Only Du Chun was different, looking at Lin Hai with admiration and excitement.
Zhou Xiao and Peng Xue, however, were in a worse state.
They had just felt the chilling breeze earlier and thought it was their imagination. But now, seeing the skeleton, they collapsed to the ground, trembling in fear.
“Xiao Lin, I’ll notify the police bureau to investigate the identity of the deceased,” Peng Tao said, pulling out his phone.
“No need,” Lin Hai stopped him. “This is an ancient corpse, not a modern person.”
“What…” Peng Tao was stunned.
How could he tell that?
“What do we do now? Hurry up and tell us! Why are you just standing there?” Peng Xue, holding onto Zhou Xiao, shouted at Lin Hai in panic.
“What do we do? How should I know? I’m just a fraud. Why don’t you have your brother arrest me and interrogate me to find out?” Lin Hai retorted sarcastically.
“You…” Peng Xue was on the verge of tears.
“Lin Hai, is my dad’s condition related to this skeleton? What should we do?” Peng Tao was also at a loss.
“Wait a moment,” Lin Hai suddenly turned and walked toward the doghouse nearby.
“Woof! Woof!” As Lin Hai approached, the large wolfhound started barking furiously.
But strangely, the dog’s eyes showed a human-like fear, and it kept backing away.
“This…” Everyone was puzzled. Why was this fierce dog afraid of Lin Hai?
“Are you sure it won’t bite me?” Lin Hai was actually more scared. If the dog pounced on him, it would take a chunk out of him.
“Don’t worry, it can sense my presence. It won’t dare move,” Hu Xiuer, floating behind Lin Hai, said calmly.
Sure enough, as Lin Hai took a few more steps forward, the dog let out a whimper and lay down, as docile as a puppy.
“This is unbelievable,” Peng Tao’s eyes widened. He knew better than anyone how fierce his dog was.
Lin Hai reached into the doghouse and pulled out two bones.
Peng Tao was shocked. They were clearly human arm and leg bones.
“You’ve really had it rough, huh? Your bones got snatched by a dog?” Lin Hai communicated with Hu Xiuer through his thoughts.
“Hmph!” Hu Xiuer was furious. “It’s all because of that woman, Zhou Xiao!”
“A year ago, she wanted to expand the garden. During construction, they dug up my arm and leg bones, and she had the workers throw them to the dog.”
“So, the reason you’re missing an arm and a leg is because of Zhou Xiao?”
“Who else could it be?”
“Then why didn’t you go after Zhou Xiao or someone else? Why target Peng Tao’s father?”
Lin Hai voiced his confusion.
“Go after Zhou Xiao? She’s not worthy. Do you think I’m just some ordinary ghost?”
Hu Xiuer gave a disdainful look.
“Her and Peng Xue are both women, their energy is too yin. If I targeted them, it would kill them outright.”
“Peng Tao is a decent man with a faint aura of righteousness. Causing him trouble would cost me some energy.”
“So, I had no choice but to go after his father.”
Damn, Lin Hai suddenly felt a wave of sympathy for the old man. He had been suffering for someone else’s mistakes.
Following Hu Xiuer’s instructions, Lin Hai placed the arm and leg bones back in their original positions.
In an instant, Hu Xiuer’s body became whole again.
Wow, that’s amazing!
With her body complete, Lin Hai found Hu Xiuer less terrifying. In fact, she was quite a beauty.
Though her pale, ghostly face still carried an eerie aura.
“Your dad will be fine now,” Lin Hai turned to Peng Tao.
“Really? Thank you so much!” Peng Tao was visibly relieved.
Lin Hai’s actions had completely convinced him.
How else could someone who had never been to their house know about the skeleton buried here?
The dog’s behavior and the human bones in the doghouse further solidified Peng Tao’s belief that Lin Hai was no ordinary person.
“However,” Lin Hai glanced at Zhou Xiao and Peng Xue, who were helping each other up from the ground.
“These two are in trouble.”
Thud!
Zhou Xiao and Peng Xue, who had just managed to stand, collapsed back to the ground at Lin Hai’s words.
