I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 8
The noise outside had faded, and Qin Lang knew he needed to leave quickly.
But just as he pushed the door open, a cleaning lady entered with a mop and bucket.
Qin Lang’s eyes widened. This is bad—I’ve been caught by the cleaning staff!
He knew all too well how women of that age could gossip—they might as well be a flock of five hundred ducks. If word got out that he, in a woman’s body, had barged into the men’s restroom, how could he ever show his face at Starlight Entertainment again?
“Look, that’s the woman who sneaked into the men’s bathroom!”
“Who would’ve thought? She’s so pretty, yet so desperate?”
“No wonder people say she slept her way to the top. If she’s bold enough to do this, what else is she capable of?”
“Tsk tsk, no shame at all!”
In his mind, Qin Lang could already hear the endless whispers. He could almost feel the scornful stares burning into him. The online backlash, the company blacklisting him—it all seemed to come crashing down at once.
The court of public opinion is terrifying!
“Is my reputation as Qin Lang going to be ruined here?”
A wave of despair washed over him, freezing him in place.
Just as his thoughts spiraled, the cleaning lady tapped him on the shoulder.
“You gonna move or what? I’ve got cleaning to do!”
Snapping back to reality, Qin Lang realized—Wait, she doesn’t seem surprised?
Without another thought, he bolted out.
The cleaning lady shook her head. “Kids these days… Why dress up as a woman? Though I gotta admit, his cosplay was pretty convincing.”
Starlight Entertainment had hundreds of artists, and the cleaning staff only recognized the A-list celebrities. As for Qin Yunxuan—a rookie barely a year into her career—she hardly stood out.
Besides, a female artist entering the men’s restroom? That had never happened at Starlight. So the cleaning lady assumed Qin Lang was just a cross-dressing male artist—not uncommon in the entertainment industry.
Once outside, Qin Lang clutched his chest in relief.
“Too close… That could’ve gone so wrong!”
He figured the heavens must’ve been looking out for him.
“From now on, I won’t curse you, heavens. Just keep watching over me, and I’ll sing your praises every day!”
After a quick prayer, another problem hit him.
“Where the heck is Recording Studio No. 1?!”
Starlight Entertainment’s building had over twenty floors, each with a labyrinthine layout. Qin Lang searched for a floor map but quickly remembered—this wasn’t a mall; there weren’t any guides.
“This is a problem. Do I really have to ask someone?”
The easiest solution was to call Manager Lin, but how could he explain not knowing where his own company’s recording studio was?
Reluctantly, he asked a staff member for directions and followed them… only to end up completely lost.
Qin Lang swore he wasn’t directionally challenged, but Starlight’s building was a maze, with each floor arranged differently. After a couple of turns, he couldn’t tell north from south.
“Maybe I should just ask Manager Lin to come get me…”
As he pondered, he rounded a corner—
BAM!
—and collided with a woman.
“Sorry, sorry! Are you okay?” he blurted out.
The woman looked to be in her thirties, with sharp phoenix eyes, delicate brows, and an elegant, graceful demeanor.
“In such a hurry—where are you off to?” she asked, smiling.
Qin Lang panicked. Does she know me?
But he didn’t recognize her at all. Is this where I get exposed?
Putting on his most innocent smile, he said, “Pretty sister, I’m lost. Could you tell me where Recording Studio No. 1 is?”
Never in his life did he think he’d resort to acting cute.
The woman blinked, then chuckled. “Recording Studio No. 1? It’s not even on this floor. Come on, I’ll take you there.”
Qin Lang perked up, flashing a harmless grin. “Really? Thank you, sis!”
It’s my own company—it’s not like she’s gonna kidnap me, right?
But still… Why does she look so familiar?
He’d researched plenty of industry seniors yesterday. This woman had to be one of them.
