I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 70
When Chen Xiyuan and the others arrived at Wang Daniu’s Barbecue Stall, it was exactly half past six.
You could say they arrived right on the dot.
“Whoa, Chen Xiyuan’s roommates are really attractive too!”
“I like the one with the long legs…”
“The short-haired beauty is my type!”
“I’m not picky, any of them would be fine for me!”
Looking at his hopeless friends, Qin Lang felt a bit speechless. “Wipe the drool from the corners of your mouths, it looks really pathetic!”
The three guys instinctively wiped their mouths, only to find there was no drool. They all shot annoyed glares at Qin Lang.
Qin Lang ignored them and walked over to Chen Xiyuan.
“I’m really sorry. The guys from my dorm insisted on coming to see you today, since we’ve publicly acknowledged that we’re in a relationship!”
Qin Lang shrugged nonchalantly. “It’s fine. I invited my roommates anyway, and besides… this meal was meant to repay the favor I owe you!”
“But I brought quite a few people; it’s definitely going to cost a lot. When the bill comes, I’ll pay for my roommates’ share…”
“Come on, it’s just three extra people, no big deal! I have money now. Treating your roommates is nothing. I don’t want them going back and saying you found a stingy boyfriend!”
Chen Xiyuan smiled and didn’t insist, but she had already made up her mind—she would just go and pay the bill herself later.
Wang Daniu’s Barbecue was a favorite among Yunjing University students. It was clean, hygienic, delicious, affordable, and had a wide variety—all very student-budget-friendly.
“Should we get a private room or sit outside?” Qin Lang asked.
Chen Xiyuan hesitated for a moment. “Let’s get a private room. Our group is a bit… noticeable to sit outside.”
“Whatever you say.”
Although Wang Daniu’s Barbecue didn’t have the fanciest name, it was one of the most proper barbecue joints on Back Street, complete with several decent-sized private rooms, perfect for their group of eight.
After they entered the private room and did some quick introductions, everyone sat down.
However, Qin Lang felt a bit uneasy… Chen Xiyuan’s roommates seemed to be looking at him a little strangely.
It felt… almost like they were looking at a walking ATM.
“Am I imagining things?” Qin Lang shook his head.
His feeling wasn’t wrong. This was the first time Chen Xiyuan’s roommates had been this close to a multimillionaire.
“Qin Lang, how did you and our Xixi meet originally? You two kept it really under wraps!” asked one of Chen Xiyuan’s roommates, Xiao Nan.
Qin Lang smiled. “We met at an event. After spending some time together, we gradually got closer.”
He and Chen Xiyuan had already agreed on their story beforehand.
If they were going to pretend to be a couple, they had to be convincing; otherwise, how would they fool anyone?
But clearly, Chen Xiyuan’s roommates weren’t overly focused on how the two had met.
What Qin Lang faced next was even tougher than a press interview!
“If our Xixi hadn’t made the first move, were you still not planning to go public with the relationship?”
“What’s the most touching thing you’ve ever done for Xixi?”
“Xixi’s birthday is in a month. What kind of gift are you planning to give her?”
“Do you know what Xixi’s favorite food is? What’s her biggest wish?”
…
Faced with this barrage of questions, Qin Lang began to panic.
He and Chen Xiyuan hadn’t had time to coordinate on these details! What was he supposed to do?
He shot a pleading look at Chen Xiyuan, but she outright ignored him.
Right now, she absolutely couldn’t take his side. If she did, her roommates would never let her hear the end of it.
They’d tease her about being a dutiful wife, or having someone to dote on her now…
Basically, there was nothing they wouldn’t say.
Seeing that his ally was no help, Qin Lang could only pin his hopes on his own friends.
Noticing Qin Lang’s silent cry for help, Chen Quan and the others promptly stepped in.
When a brother was in trouble, they wouldn’t just stand by and watch!
“Xiao Nan, regarding some questions about Qin Lang, we, as his closest roommates, know best!”
“Yeah, Fenfen, if you want to know anything, just ask me!”
“Xiao Ying, Qin Lang never gives a straight answer. You’re better off asking me!”
Soon, with Chen Quan and the others joining the fray, they managed to divert some of the pressure away from Qin Lang.
Qin Lang finally breathed a sigh of relief. His brothers really came through when it counted.
The atmosphere during the meal became much more relaxed. Qin Lang took a trip to the restroom and seized the opportunity to settle the bill.
On his way back, however, he ran into an acquaintance.
“Qin Lang, fancy running into you here!” Zhou Siyuan blocked Qin Lang’s path. “You’ve been lying low lately. Weren’t you all high and mighty before?”
Zhou Siyuan?
Qin Lang’s heart sank. This guy was notoriously difficult to deal with in their department. But why was he targeting Qin Lang? As far as Qin Lang knew, their paths had never even crossed!
Wait… Could Qin Yunxuan be behind this again?
Qin Lang felt a headache coming on. Qin Yunxuan was top-notch at getting things done, but she was equally skilled at stirring up trouble!
“What’s up? You already know I’m something special, and you still want to test me?” Qin Lang let out a light laugh. “And don’t pretend to be some big shot in front of me. You’ve always just relied on your family’s connections, strutting around like you own the place. Is that really satisfying?”
Zhou Siyuan’s eyes narrowed. “Seems you’ve still got some nerve. Good. Then let’s have some fun. I hope you don’t get crushed when I’m done playing with you.”
“Your confidence is truly baffling,” Qin Lang sighed. “Did you see the news today?”
“What do you mean?”
“Take a look, and you’ll understand. Right now… you and I are on completely different levels. Your provocations seem utterly ridiculous to me. Of course, it’s not your fault—ignorance isn’t a sin. But being this confident while so ignorant? That, I don’t get.”
After saying this, Qin Lang turned and went back to his private room.
He wasn’t just talking about one Zhou Siyuan; he didn’t even consider Wang Wenjie a threat anymore.
Who was he? A future multimillionaire, a future billionaire!
How could he possibly be intimidated by some college student who hadn’t even graduated yet?
What a joke!
Zhou Siyuan’s family background was indeed somewhat influential, and it might let him throw his weight around on campus for a while, but that only worked on ordinary people.
Qin Lang’s ambitions had already expanded far beyond that. A mere Zhou Siyuan? He wasn’t worried in the slightest!
I, Qin Lang, future billionaire, am not scared at all!
