I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 4
Just as Qin Lang was about to suffocate, the woman finally released him.
“Let Sister Lin check—were you hurt earlier?”
Qin Lang observed the anxious woman and began piecing things together.
This woman must be Qin Yunxuan’s agent!
“Sister Lin, I’m fine! See? It’s all over now!” Qin Lang replied breezily.
“Good!”
The woman scrutinized Qin Lang head to toe several times before finally relaxing—until her hand brushed his waist, making him suck in a sharp breath.
“Wait—!”
She yanked up his shirt, revealing a large bruise.
“We’re going to the hospital. Now.”
Without another word, she hauled him away.
Truthfully, Qin Lang wasn’t seriously injured. The bruise came from the equipment jabbing into his waist during the earlier fall, marring his otherwise fair skin. After some basic anti-inflammatory treatment, his only task was to rest.
But for Qin Lang, there was another mission: investigating Qin Yunxuan’s identity and background.
After over half an hour of sifting through chaotic online rumors, he finally pieced together key details:
-
He (as Qin Yunxuan) was a top idol under Starlight Entertainment, one of the industry’s “Big Three” companies.
-
The real Qin Yunxuan was notoriously tone-deaf—constantly off-key, forgetting lyrics, and clueless about music theory. Dubbed “history’s most beautiful vase” (i.e., a pretty but talentless decoration).
-
Despite this, Starlight had poured massive resources into making “her” the hottest star.
“Is Starlight out of their minds? Did they bankroll her just for her looks?” Qin Lang groaned internally.
He couldn’t deny Qin Yunxuan was stunning—the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. But looks alone couldn’t explain this level of investment.
“There’s got to be a hidden agenda…” A chill ran down his spine.
Earth’s entertainment industry was rife with scandals, and beautiful women often became targets. Was Qin Yunxuan…
“No way. Did she have some ‘arrangement’ with Starlight’s higher-ups? Why else would they spend so much on her?”
Qin Lang had zero faith in corporate benevolence. This was the only logical explanation.
“If the rumors and my suspicions are true… what do I do now? I can’t possibly—”
The mental image made him nauseous.
Just then, Sister Lin’s voice drifted through the slightly ajar door:
“President Yun! Are you here to see Xuanxuan? The doctor confirmed she’s fine!”
President Yun?
Qin Lang’s mind raced. That had to be Yun Sihai, Starlight’s CEO—a man he’d just read about.
“Wait… The CEO of a major conglomerate wouldn’t personally visit a mere idol unless…”
A horrifying realization struck.
“Oh god. Did I—I mean, Qin Yunxuan—sleep with the CEO?!”
Everything clicked into place.
Panic set in. How should I act when he comes in? Professional? Flirty? Or—
“Hell no! I’d rather die than play cute with some old creep!”
His face twisted in disgust. “Worst case, they blacklist me. So what? With my ‘transmigrator’ advantages, I won’t starve!”
“Where there’s life, there’s hope.”
The door creaked open. In walked a distinguished middle-aged man.
Qin Lang’s eyes widened. Records stated Yun Sihai was over fifty, but he looked forty at most—exuding steady charisma. Surprisingly handsome, with…
Wait, why does his brow resemble Qin Yunxuan’s?
“Don’t tell me this is ‘couple face’?!”
He shuddered. “No! Even if he’s a silver-fox CEO, he won’t bend this steel-straight man!”
“Xuanxuan,” Yun Sihai fretted, “I saw you fall on stage. Are you hurt?”
Qin Lang’s eye twitched. “Xuanxuan”? At his age? Shameless!
He stayed silent, unsure how to respond.
Yun Sihai’s gaze softened. “Don’t blame me. Everything I did… was for you.”
He reached to pat Qin Lang’s head—
Qin Lang dodged instinctively. No way I’m letting this guy touch me!
The CEO’s hand hung awkwardly mid-air.
“President Yun…” Sister Lin looked uneasy.
Yun Sihai merely smiled. “Lin Ruo, I just wanted to check on Xuanxuan. Since she’s fine, I’ll return to company matters.”
“I’ll take good care of her,” Lin Ruo promised.
When she returned, her eyes held quiet disapproval.
“I know you resent him, but President Yun has sacrificed so much for you. Try to understand—”
“Sister Lin,” Qin Lang cut in flatly, “I need rest.”
She sighed. “Very well.”
Watching her leave, Qin Lang frowned. “My ‘agent’ thinks she can guilt-trip me? Please. I, Qin Lang, am a real man!”
