I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 25
When Dean Chen and Mu Zhiyan arrived at the scene, chaos had already erupted.
Many bystanders had noticed that the person being held hostage was none other than the popular actress, Qin Yunxuan!
Now things had gotten even more explosive.
A hostage situation was shocking enough on its own—but when the victim was a famous celebrity? That was a whole new level of drama.
“Oh my god, Qin Yunxuan’s been taken hostage!”
“This is huge news! But who’s the kidnapper? A fan?”
“Probably a sasaeng fan. These obsessive fans are getting scarier by the day!”
…
Meanwhile, the man confronting the security team began to sense something was off.
These were just ordinary security guards—not trained police officers.
If they really wanted to capture him, shouldn’t they have sent a SWAT team? Otherwise, weren’t they severely underestimating him?
But now… Had he made a mistake?
“Who the hell are you?” the man growled at Qin Lang in a low voice.
Qin Lang was speechless. You’re the one who took me hostage, and now you’re asking who I am?
What did I even do to deserve this?
“You don’t recognize me?” Qin Lang asked, now that his mask and sunglasses had been removed.
The man sneered. “You’re pretty, sure, but why would I know you?”
“You don’t know me, yet you kidnapped me? Are you out of your mind?” Qin Lang snapped.
“What did you just say?” The man’s eyes narrowed, and the knife in his hand pressed harder.
“Agh—!”
Qin Lang instantly backed down. “Bro, I was just joking! Can’t you take a joke?”
“I’m a celebrity! Aren’t you one of my fans?”
The man froze. “You’re a celebrity? You’re not an undercover cop?”
Qin Lang blinked. “What undercover cop?”
A sinking feeling hit the man. Had he really gotten it wrong?
This wasn’t a plainclothes officer—but an actual celebrity?
Just then, the murmurs from the crowd reached his ears.
Qin Yunxuan?
The big-shot star from Starlight Entertainment?
The man realized his mistake. He hadn’t been discovered at all—he’d just kidnapped the wrong person!
Now he was screwed. This was like a chicken delivering itself to a fox—a total disaster.
“You’re really not a cop?”
“I’m really not!”
“Then why the hell were you following me?”
Qin Lang wanted to cry. “Me following you? You’re the one who stalked me! Are you even listening to yourself?”
“What did you say?”
“I’m sorry!” Qin Lang instantly backtracked. “Look, this is clearly a misunderstanding. How about we just… go our separate ways?”
Seeing the man hesitate, Qin Lang thought there might be hope.
“Don’t worry, if you let me go, I’ll just say it was all a big misunderstanding—no, even better, we’ll say we were rehearsing a scene! No one will suspect a thing!”
The man glanced at the tense security team.
“You really think I’d believe that? Cut the crap!”
Qin Lang sighed. “Look at me. I’m just a woman—a celebrity, at that. A scandal like this would ruin my image. Why would I try anything?”
“If this blows up, it’s bad for both of us, right?”
Just as the man wavered, Dean Chen and Mu Zhiyan arrived.
“Let Yunxuan go, or you’ll regret it!” Mu Zhiyan shouted anxiously.
Dean Chen’s expression was grim. “You’re surrounded. The only way out is to surrender. Release her!”
The man’s hesitation vanished, replaced by fury.
“See? Even if I let you go now, they won’t let me walk away,” he muttered.
Qin Lang’s heart sank.
Seriously? Could they mess this up any worse?
Also… who even are you, little girl? Do we know each other?
Without her earlier disguise, Mu Zhiyan now looked petite and delicate—completely different from the sallow-faced woman from before.
Naturally, Qin Lang didn’t recognize her.
“Want me to release her? Fine. Get me a car. Once I’m safely out of here, I’ll consider letting her go. Otherwise… I’ll take this pretty starlet down with me. Not a bad deal, huh?”
Qin Lang panicked. “Hey, are you serious? We had an agreement!”
“My life is in my own hands. Besides, I don’t trust some two-faced celebrity!”
Qin Lang was offended. “Two-faced”? That’s just blatant disrespect!
Still, he agreed with one thing the man said—his life was his own to control.
He wasn’t naive enough to trust a kidnapper’s word.
“Please, please don’t hurt me! I’ll do whatever you say!” Qin Lang tried to force tears but couldn’t.
In desperation, he pinched his thigh—hard.
“Agh—!”
Tears instantly welled up. That hurt like hell!
The man smirked. Pathetic. Crying from fear already?
“You heard me!” he barked at Dean Chen.
Dean Chen hesitated. Despite his academic brilliance, he had no idea how to handle this.
“Dean, the police are on their way. We just need to stall for time,” the head of security whispered.
But he doubted the kidnapper would wait quietly.
The standoff dragged on.
Growing impatient, the man brandished his knife. “If you don’t get me that car now, I’ll carve up her face—”
“Now!”
In that split second, Qin Lang—still pretending to sob—struck.
He stomped hard on the man’s foot while simultaneously driving his fist into the inner elbow of the man’s knife arm—the ulnar nerve.
A sharp impact there could temporarily paralyze the entire arm.
The man, lulled into carelessness by Qin Lang’s earlier act, never saw it coming.
His foot throbbed in agony, his right arm went numb, and the knife clattered to the ground.
Qin Lang swept his leg out, then rammed his elbow into the man’s chest, sending him crashing down.
The whole thing happened in seconds.
Before anyone could react, the kidnapper was already on the ground.
“What are you all standing around for? Help me!” Qin Lang snapped at the stunned security team.
