I Swapped Bodies With a Female Celebrity - Chapter 16
The peeping Tom incident was finally resolved, but the next problem left Qin Yunxuan deeply troubled.
After searching online, she had just confirmed that this world was indeed not her original one—it was a parallel universe called Earth!
“Since I’ve ended up in this world, I’ll have to live as Qin Lang. But I know absolutely nothing about him!”
Just like Qin Lang, Qin Yunxuan had no memories of his life.
However, she found some comfort in the fact that this world’s technological level was far behind her own. That meant she had plenty of ways to gather information about Qin Lang!
Soon, by hacking into databases, she managed to retrieve all of Qin Lang’s personal details—his family background, education history, social connections, and even his underwear preferences.
“The big data applications in this world are impressive. Now I have a clear picture!”
If Qin Lang had heard her thoughts, he would’ve screamed at the unfairness of fate.
Why did he have to cautiously piece together information bit by bit, while Qin Yunxuan could uncover all his secrets just by typing on a keyboard?
Truly, technology is the ultimate productivity tool.
Ring, ring!
Just then, Qin Lang’s phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, Qin Yunxuan saw it was Chen Quan, Qin Lang’s roommate.
“What’s up?” she answered, keeping her tone neutral.
“Qin Lang, where are you? We agreed to meet with our advisor today, remember?”
Qin Yunxuan froze. Meeting with an advisor? For what?
Sensing her hesitation, Chen Quan continued, “Dude, don’t tell me you forgot! Tomorrow’s the deadline for the Invention Cup registration. We need to get our advisor’s approval today!”
Qin Yunxuan frowned. The Invention Cup? It sounded like some kind of tech competition.
As a tech enthusiast, she was intrigued.
“Where are you guys? I’ll head over now.”
“We’re outside Professor Chen’s office. The whole dorm’s here except you!”
“Wait for me, I’ll be right there!”
After hanging up, she quickly searched for “Invention Cup” and confirmed it was a national university-level tech innovation contest.
But what puzzled her was that Qin Lang and his roommates were all notorious slackers.
Slackers joining a tech competition?
Were they secretly geniuses hiding their talents?
Fifteen minutes later…
When Qin Yunxuan arrived, she found Chen Quan, Zhou Lin, and Liu Sen slumped against the wall, looking utterly defeated.
“What happened to you guys?” she asked.
Chen Quan glanced up, his voice full of despair. “We’re doomed.”
“Why?”
Zhou Lin sighed. “Professor Chen said it’s obvious we’re just in it for the credits. He refused to be our advisor.”
“Without an advisor, we can’t even enter the competition!”
“No competition means no extra credits… What a tragedy!”
Qin Yunxuan’s eye twitched. Now she understood—these three (no, four, counting Qin Lang) had no real interest in the Invention Cup.
Their only goal was the four academic credits for participating.
But Professor Chen saw right through them and refused to play along.
“We’re already short on credits, and now we’ve lost another chance!”
“It’s getting harder to scrape up credits these days. Maybe we should just get driver’s licenses—that’s worth two points!”
“Dude, you got money for that? It costs at least 4,000! I’m broke this month!”
Watching their miserable expressions, Qin Yunxuan was speechless.
Grown men, acting so hopeless over a few credits?
“Is it really that big of a deal?”
“Qin Lang, are you kidding? You’ve lost more credits than us! If we don’t fix this, we might not even graduate!”
Qin Yunxuan was shocked. “It’s that serious? Then let’s go beg Professor Chen again!”
Ten minutes later…
All four of them were slumped against the wall again.
“Now what? Professor Chen just agreed to advise another group. No advisors left!” Zhou Lin groaned.
Each professor could only mentor one team, and Professor Chen had been their best shot.
Qin Yunxuan rubbed her temples. “Do we really need an advisor? Can’t we register ourselves?”
“No way. The school made this rule specifically to stop slackers like us from gaming the system,” Liu Sen said bitterly.
Qin Yunxuan nodded. At least they were self-aware.
“But…” Chen Quan suddenly spoke up. “There is one last option. Not sure if anyone’s brave enough, though.”
“Who? All the professors are taken,” Zhou Lin said.
“The ‘Grim Reaper’—Professor Zhao.”
Hiss!
Zhou Lin and Liu Sen exchanged horrified looks. They never expected Chen Quan to suggest him.
Professor Zhao, nicknamed the “Grim Reaper,” was infamous for his merciless grading. Countless students had failed under him.
The only time he’d ever been stunned was earlier in class—by Qin Yunxuan’s unexpected brilliance.
“Since Qin Lang already shocked him once, he might agree! Plus, no other team would dare pick him as their advisor,” Chen Quan reasoned.
All eyes turned to Qin Yunxuan.
If anyone could convince the Grim Reaper, it was her.
After a moment’s thought, Qin Yunxuan smirked.
Between the credits and the thrill of a tech competition, it was worth a shot.
“Fine. The Grim Reaper, huh? Let’s see what he’s made of.”
