Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 63
“Little Griseo, why… did you call me ‘Mom’?”
Griseo looked at Cecilia seriously:
“Because the colors around you are like a gentle sea breeze, embracing everyone who comes close. Just like… a mother’s hug.”
“And how does that compare to Aponia?”
Griseo thought carefully for a moment:
“It’s different from Aponia Mom… Hmm… Aponia Mom became ‘Mom’ because she held my hand in the darkness. But the colors around Cecilia Mom… just look like a mother’s colors.”
In plain terms: Aponia earned the title “Mom” by showing Griseo motherly love. But Cecilia? Griseo took one look at her and thought, “This woman radiates mom energy.”
“Cecilia, you never cease to amaze me. I never imagined someone could be born to be a mother… And your ‘children’—whether they’re a Herrscher, a Stigma Awakener, or, in Griseo’s case, the youngest MANTIS from the Previous Era… If I were your husband, the pressure would be crushing.”
At the mention of Siegfried, Cecilia’s expression dimmed slightly.
“I wonder how my dear is doing… With me gone, Theresa will have to take on more responsibility. At least the Judgement of Shamash isn’t with the Schariac family anymore—no need to worry about him doing anything reckless. As for the next inheritor of Abyss Flower… That won’t happen so soon.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. Did I bring up something painful?”
“Ah… No need to apologize, Elysia. I was just thinking about my husband…”
Griseo nodded thoughtfully. She remembered how her own mother would sometimes stand by the window with that same distant look whenever her father was away on missions.
“But Elysia is right. If Griseo could come home with me… Three children would make the house so lively.”
“Four, Cecilia. As they say, ‘Better late than never.’”
Like Aponia, Elysia had a unique presence in the Elysian Realm. Whenever a newcomer arrived, she was always among the first to know.
“Elysia, is there a new visitor?”
“That’s right, Kosma! Another interesting girl has arrived.”
“Then we’ll take our leave. Griseo has spent enough time with everyone else today.”
After bidding farewell to the two Flame-Chasers, Cecilia turned back to Elysia, puzzled:
“What did you mean by my ‘fourth child’? Is she a little girl like Sirin?”
She assumed Elysia was just teasing her with Griseo’s earlier words and didn’t think much of it.
“Hmm~” Elysia didn’t answer, merely smiling mysteriously as she went to greet the newcomer.
A few minutes later, in the grand hall of the Elysian Realm…
The World Snake’s emissary, the very first Type-Model ever created—Misteln Schariac—stood face-to-face with Cecilia Schariac. Their eyes locked in mutual shock.
Elysia watched from the side, barely containing her excitement.
No introduction was needed. The moment Misteln saw Cecilia, she knew exactly who she was.
“It’s an honor to see you well. But logically, if I exist in the real world, then you should…”
“Hello, Misteln. No need for formalities—just call me Cecilia. Alexandra often spoke of you. The name ‘Misteln’ was her gift to you… In a way, yes, both she and I did die. But the Herrscher of Corruption preserved us as memory constructs.”
At the mention of Alexandra, Misteln’s composure wavered.
“How… is she now?”
“We live together in a digital space on a small island.”
“I see… That’s good. The Herrscher of Corruption is practically omnipotent in a digital world. Her life must be far better than it was in Siberia.”
“If you’d like, you can visit her. She misses you too. Sirin can use the Authority of the Void to send you there—no need to worry about travel time.”
For a brief moment, longing flickered in Misteln’s eyes—but then she remembered the calamity she had caused, and her gaze darkened.
“I can’t…”
“Don’t worry. Where I live now, there are only two memory constructs, two Herrschers, a Stigma Awakener, and a Judgement-class Honkai Beast. No ordinary humans.”
A glimmer of hope returned to Misteln’s eyes—but she shook her head firmly.
“No. I still have unfinished business with Alexandra. Though she was the one who asked to relinquish the Stigma’s power, I was the one who carried it out. Until I witness the fate of her daughter—Bronya Zaychik—I won’t go to her.”
Cecilia smiled softly, not pressing further. “Alexandra really does understand you. She knew you wouldn’t come, even if you learned where she was.”
“That Alexandra… I’d love to meet her someday.” Elysia chimed in once their conversation lulled.
“Ah… Elysia, Alexandra is just an ordinary person…”
“That’s fine! She can just come chat with me—no fighting required. Someone so important to Misteln could never be ordinary. I bet she’s just as radiant, confident, and lovely as I am~?”
(Note: As the Herrscher of Human: Origin, Alexandra wasn’t exactly ordinary.)
“Well… I’ll ask her when I return…”
“Oh, Misteln, you really are captivating! The moment you arrived, all eyes were on you~”
“So, Cecilia, was I lying earlier?” Elysia winked.
“Uh… That’s…”
Before Cecilia could respond, Elysia cheerfully recapped the conversation for a confused Misteln.
Misteln chuckled. “Elysia’s right. I came into this world because you awakened the Schariac bloodline. Even my appearance is based on yours. By definition, you are my mother.”
Logically, it made sense—but something about treating Misteln as her child felt… off to Cecilia.
“Mom… and Misteln?!”
A disheveled Sirin stumbled into the hall. After getting frozen solid by Kevin (who didn’t even need the Judgement of Shamash to do it), she decided he was the real Herrscher of Ice.
Then she walked straight into Misteln’s impromptu family reunion.
Anastasia had already explained Misteln’s origins to her. And honestly? With how much Misteln resembled Cecilia, they did look more like mother and daughter.
“Since Sirin’s back, it’s time for Misteln to begin her journey in the Elysian Realm.”
Elysia led Misteln deeper into the Realm, leaving only three people in the hall. Bella quietly stepped back to give them space.
“I’m sorry, Mom… I…”
Sirin knew Cecilia was here because of her rampage.
She cherished this hard-won bond deeply. Just as Cecilia treated her like a real daughter, Sirin truly saw her as her mother.
Seeing Sirin so remorseful, Cecilia’s heart ached. She pulled Sirin into a hug, gently stroking her hair.
“As long as you and Bella are safe… That’s all that matters.”
