Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 3
Enoxia ’s sudden disappearance sent Huo Bufan’s heart racing again, just as he had begun to relax.
“The blackout was just a diversion—their real goal was to abduct her. Only Anti-Entropy could pull this off. We’ve been played!” Huo Bufan growled in frustration.
“Should we send a team after them?” Miles asked calmly, despite the urgency.
“Sigh.” Huo Bufan exhaled helplessly. “We don’t even know how they took her. It’s too late now. Truly worthy of the Herrscher of Reason.”
Meanwhile, far away in Arizona, North America, Welt Yang sneezed, completely unaware that Anti-Entropy had just been framed for a crime they didn’t commit.
Huo Bufan rushed out, and within minutes, the entire Siberian branch launched an investigation. Of course, they found nothing—Anti-Entropy had nothing to do with it. No one could have guessed that Enoxia was now inside the digital space of an electronic device, watching the whole scene unfold.
The moment she touched the computer, she realized she could switch between human and data form. Without hesitation, she slipped into the machine.
Truly adrift in an ocean of knowledge—it was a surreal experience. Around her swirled streams of incomprehensible data, yet whenever she focused, it felt as though a second brain translated the chaotic information into something she could understand.
In Honkai Impact 3rd, it’s common for Herrschers to be unaware of their full powers or how to use them. The most infamous example is Sirin, who, despite having six cores, only knew how to hurl meteors at Earth from the Moon. So, Enoxia’s first priority in this digital realm was to figure out exactly what she could do.
“Oh… So, I can break dimensional barriers, freely shuttle between virtual and reality. The internet is basically a highway for me—any device within the same network can serve as an entrance or exit. And I can effortlessly access any data stored on these devices. Let’s see…”
“Schicksal’s Siberian Branch, located at 51.4°N, 114°E… Quite the strategic spot.”
“Otto Apocalypse. Of course—he’s still alive. Good thing I didn’t reveal my Herrscher identity in front of Schicksal, or that bastard would’ve dissected me for research.” Enoxia scoffed and kept scrolling.
“Cecilia Schariac, Siegfried Kaslana, Theresa Apocalypse… Wow, so many familiar names. There’s some Anti-Entropy intel too. Wait—Cecilia Schariac is still alive? What year is it?!”
Only now did she think to check the system clock.
“January 31, 2000… Huh?! I—the 12th Herrscher—woke up in Siberia in the year 2000? What kind of messed-up timeline is this?! Is this even Honkai Impact 3rd anymore? Did I somehow land in Guns GirlZ, where there are like 50 Herrschers?!”
After a targeted search, she dug up Herrscher-related records in the Siberian branch’s database.
“1953: First Honkai Eruption in Berlin… First Herrscher, Welt Joyce… Anti-Entropy’s defection… Phew, still Honkai Impact 3rd. Just the Herrscher order is scrambled. At least I won’t have to prepare for a ‘ghost reunion.’”
The details of the First Eruption matched Honkai Impact 3rd perfectly, which reassured her. Compared to Guns GirlZ’s grimdark lore, Honkai Impact 3rd was practically wholesome.
“Wait—1999: Schicksal acquires the Conquest Gem in Antarctica. Wasn’t that supposed to be obtained by Sirin on the Moon? How’d it end up at HQ already? And weren’t there four gems? Where are the cores of Death, Wind, and Flame? The records are way too vague. Guess I’ll need to infiltrate HQ for more intel…?”
“Speaking of Sirin, given the timeline…” She searched again, and files on the Babylon Labs appeared. Despite being top-secret, no encryption could stand against the Herrscher of Corruption’s power. With a flick of her hand, the entire experimental log unfolded before her.
After just a few lines, her blood ran cold.
Every year, countless Honkai-infected patients—clinging to their last hope—were admitted into Schicksal’s medical facilities. Among them, girls (and a few boys) who passed certain tests were sent to Babylon Labs. What awaited them was a nightmare of prolonged, inhumane experimentation. They were reduced to mere lab rats for Schicksal’s research on Honkai-human fusion.
Their cries in the lab’s depths were swallowed by Siberia’s frozen winds, leaving behind only cold data in the system. Behind those numbers were gruesome deaths, cruelty, and Schicksal’s utter indifference.
*”WHAT THE ACTUAL ***?!” The details ignited a fury so intense she nearly lost control.
Objectively, one could argue that human experimentation was a necessary evil in the fight against the Honkai. Enoxia wasn’t opposed to the concept itself—but to Schicksal’s methods. No matter how groundbreaking the results, they could never justify the suffering of these children.
From a utilitarian view, sacrificing the few for the many might seem logical. But what if you or your loved ones were the “few”? Could you accept it emotionally? At this moment, Enoxia certainly couldn’t.
She checked the time again:
January 31, 2000, 15:46.
“Hmm… So, there’s still time to stop the Second Eruption.”
The Second Honkai Eruption—the prequel to Honkai Impact 3rd’s main story—was the most devastating catastrophe in modern history. And the true culprit wasn’t Sirin, but Otto. Without Babylon Labs, Sirin would never have become a Herrscher. When Welt created a pseudo-black hole, had Otto not betrayed him, Sirin wouldn’t have reached the Moon or dropped those meteors, sparing millions of lives.
Even after enduring unspeakable torment, Sirin’s lingering kindness gave birth to Kiana. This proved that despite becoming a perpetrator, she was inherently good. Without the experiments or the Honkai’s influence, she might have fought for humanity as a Herrscher. So, by any measure, she was the one who most needed—and deserved—salvation.
Of course, this meant the “Ultimate Awesome Super-Duper Adorable Dummy” Kiana might never exist. But given her suffering in the main story—while it’s natural to self-insert as the protagonist, no one would willingly relive Final Lesson to Everlasting Flames. Enoxia sure couldn’t claim “I’d do better.”
“Alright, small goal first: For purely selfish reasons, let’s ensure Sirin, Benares, Cecilia, and Cheng Lixue survive the Second Eruption.”
With a clear objective, Enoxia surged through the network, speeding toward Babylon Tower.
