Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 18
“Ah… I’m… still alive?” Olga pulled herself up from the snow, shaking her head as she gradually regained consciousness. Ashvattha’s casual strike had nearly shattered her combat armor, yet despite her body being drenched in red, none of her vital organs had been injured. She could still move.
Facing a Judgment-class Honkai Beast on her first mission was terrifying, but as a Valkyrie, she had charged forward out of duty. Yet in the end, she had been effortlessly defeated.
After tending to her wounds, Olga began searching for Sophia, who had only become her teammate a few days prior.
“Sophia… Oh.”
Unlike Olga, Sophia hadn’t been as fortunate. Struck by the same casual blow from Ashvattha, she had been sent flying into a crumbling house before the structure collapsed, burying her beneath the rubble.
Olga limped toward the wreckage and saw a pool of crimson blood seeping out. There was no movement—no struggle. Her comrade was gone.
“Wait… where’s the Judgment-class Honkai Beast?” Wiping her tears, she turned and saw villagers kneeling in worship toward a single direction. After asking around, she learned what had happened while she was unconscious.
“A single strike annihilated a Judgment-class Honkai Beast?! Wait… purple hair, that appearance… It’s the Herrscher of the Void!” She vividly remembered seeing the Herrscher’s face after her battle with the Herrscher of Reason, when she had fled.
At that moment, Sirin paid no attention to the bowing villagers. Instead, she approached Ivan, observing the faint red pattern on her back. Having never attended school, Sirin didn’t recognize it. She even wondered if it was some kind of illness and considered healing it with the Herrscher of Death’s power.
“A Stigma?”
While Sirin was clueless, Olga, as a Valkyrie, knew it all too well. She never expected such an isolated village to have a natural Stigma bearer. If this girl joined Schicksal, she could become a key force in humanity’s fight against the Honkai.
“A Stigma?” Olga’s words triggered Sirin’s memories. She recalled how the researchers had experimented on her and other orphans to advance artificial Stigma research. Seeing the Valkyrie’s shock, she realized this child, like her, was a special case—someone who met certain conditions.
Glaring at Olga, who was around her age, Sirin muttered to herself:
“So Schicksal not only conducts inhumane experiments on orphans, torturing them, but also forces children this young onto the battlefield? They really are scum.”
“That’s not true!” Olga’s face flushed red as she instinctively retorted. “I came here voluntarily to protect people and eliminate Honkai beasts! And those so-called ‘experiments’ are nonsense! Schicksal is a righteous organization that defends humanity against the Honkai!”
Only after speaking did she realize she was arguing with a Herrscher—an apostle of the Honkai. She had just signed her own death warrant.
But wait… Herrschers are supposed to command Honkai beasts. They’re on the same side. So why did she kill a Judgment-class Honkai Beast to save people?
Confused as she was, Olga saw Sirin’s expression darken. She knew her Valkyrie career was over. If she couldn’t even withstand a single strike from a Judgment-class Honkai Beast, surviving a Herrscher was impossible.
Well… as a B-rank Valkyrie, my first mission involved both a Judgment-class Honkai Beast and a Herrscher. Even the A-rank elites probably haven’t faced something like this. My comrades and I fought to the end, upholding our duty as Valkyries. I didn’t disgrace Schicksal…
Olga closed her eyes. Compared to her teammates, she was lucky—at least she had time to reflect before death.
June 7, 1986 – Born in Novosibirsk, she had been just an energetic child, no different from others.
1999 – While on a family trip, Honkai beasts attacked. By the time Valkyries arrived, only she—a girl with unusually high Honkai resistance—survived.
Naturally, she joined Schicksal. After over a year of training, her instructor led her, a rookie, into Siberia…
Her life’s flashback felt too long. Olga revisited every major event since joining Schicksal, yet death never came. Minutes of agonizing silence wore down her nerves.
Despite her superhuman physique, she was still a 13-year-old girl with dreams. The thought of her future ending before it even began made fear creep into her heart.
“Take care of her.”
“Huh?!” Olga’s eyes snapped open. Though the Herrscher still glared at her, there was no killing intent.
Sirin’s expression remained cold, but seeing Olga’s confusion, she guessed the girl knew nothing of Babylon Labs’ experiments. Since they were around the same age, Sirin had no intention of killing her.
Objectively speaking, even if this place was remote, low-level Honkai beasts could still attack. And against even the weakest Chariot-class, Olga was the village’s only hope.
As a Herrscher, Sirin could summon obedient Honkai beasts as guards, but remembering Ivan’s terror at Ashvattha’s presence, she knew mindless beasts might not follow orders well. A Valkyrie would be far more reassuring.
“Never hand her over to Schicksal. Or the consequences will be dire. Bella, let’s go.”
With that, Sirin and Bella soared into the sky, vanishing beyond the horizon.
Only then did Olga’s frozen mind process what had happened. The Herrscher had entrusted this child to her.
She hates Schicksal for some reason… but why does an apostle of the Honkai act so… human?
In the distance, a blue pillar of light split the heavens. An overwhelming surge of Honkai energy radiated outward.
[Worst-case scenario—the entire Eurasian continent could vanish.]
[It’s powerful. Only with your help can we ensure victory.]
Recalling the Herrscher of Corruption’s words, Sirin—despite her lack of education—understood the devastation the Herrscher of Ice would bring if it passed through human cities.
Thinking of Ivan, and of other children in Siberia who might share their fate, Sirin activated the Herrscher of the Void’s power and began her search.
