Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 120
After listening to [Enoxia]’s explanation, Bella nodded half-understandingly, then suddenly thought of something else:
“Wait, so you’re still [Sa]’s Herrscher?”
“Mm, of course. She is Sa’s Herrscher, and as her fragment, I naturally am too. But don’t worry, Bella. For one, in this state, I’m clearly no match for the Enoxia of the main world. And secondly, I have no intention of fighting her.”
“Uh… Since you’re a fusion of five [Enoxia] fragments, don’t you have something like split personality disorder?”
[Enoxia] smiled faintly:
“Not at all. If anything, the original five versions of me were the abnormal ones. The bold and outgoing one lacked self-awareness, pushing herself on others even when they wanted distance; the impulsive one caused unnecessary misunderstandings, misinterpreting kindness; the timid and shy one made herself unapproachable, rejecting goodwill; and the jealous, yandere one—well, needless to say, she just scared people. That’s probably one reason the original me discarded them.”
“The current me is bold yet knows boundaries, impulsive but restrained, and possessive of the things I love. Sometimes I’m talkative, other times shy. Doesn’t that make me more like a real ‘person’?”
“So, does that mean the original five [Enoxia] are… dead?”
[Enoxia] kept smiling. “You could say that. I know very well that my birth fulfilled all five of their wishes. For them, living in such extreme states was worse than oblivion.”
“Being reduced to vessels of a single emotion was their greatest shackle. Becoming a normal person was their deepest desire since the moment they came into existence.”
Since the person in question had no objections, Bella and Enoxia didn’t either.
“Also, the rational part of me knows very well that even if I devoured the main world’s Enoxia, the probability of Atlantis sinking would still exceed 99%.”
“Because the root cause of this world bubble’s collapse is Sa herself.”
“She fused herself with this world bubble, like a teacher threatening to quit to stop the principal from disciplining a student. Sa sees even herself as a tool—how could she possibly show the slightest respect to the Herrschers born from her?”
“She willingly discarded so many emotions, making her the most rational existence in all of Atlantis, yet she still clings to unrealistic delusions about Sa.”
“Of course, even if she realized this, she’d be powerless. Just as the Herrscher authority in the main world is a projection of the Cocoon of Finality, Sa—who imitates the Cocoon—is the source of my authority.”
“The Herrscher of Corruption can corrode almost anything, but there’s always a limit. Trying to invert the natural order and corrode the Cocoon itself, altering its cognition, would never work. The same applies to our relationship with Sa.”
“So her goal in devouring you was just to increase her own strength, hoping to improve her chances of breaking free from Sa’s control. Nothing more.”
“I think you both know that my face and voice are based on Elysia. And what kind of person was Elysia? Someone who loved everyone, who would never strip away another’s [True Self] for her own goals.”
“[Enoxia] borrowed a voice like hers, took on a form resembling hers, yet became someone like Otto—willing to do anything for her own ends. That, more than anything, is the greatest blasphemy against Elysia.”
“And anyone who blasphemes Elysia—even if it’s myself—I will destroy.”
Here, the ever-smiling [Enoxia] grew solemn.
Clearly, in this timeline, both the main world’s and the Sea of Quanta’s Herrschers of Corruption were born Elysia devotees.
“Sorry, I got carried away. Since Sirin isn’t awake yet, feel free to look around Atlantis. K423 seems to have something else to tell you.”
[Enoxia] pointed forward, and a hole appeared in space—one that even the Herrscher of the Void couldn’t normally bypass.
Enoxia and Bella carried Sirin out, finding themselves in the city of Atlantis.
“It seems the space we were in earlier was something like the core of this world bubble. Ah, Bella, [Enoxia] just gave me K423’s coordinates. Let’s go.”
A while later, the three arrived at a grassy field where K423 was waving at them.
By then, Sirin had woken up, and Enoxia briefly recounted what had happened while she was possessed.
“Ah, hello—especially to you, Sirin. Because she told me that in one main world timeline where humanity overcame the Finality, the ‘me’ of that world was born from her body and will… Ah, but I know. At our core, we’re not the same person.”
“Before I leave, I should clear up a misunderstanding. The first time we met, even if you hadn’t intervened, Oberon and the others couldn’t have done anything to me. Even if I’d lost the ability to fight, those Enoxias would’ve killed them before they could drag me into a lab.”
“They’ve always been good to me. That day, I’d sneaked out to play, and they only acted like villains in front of you to guide you into dealing with that particular Enoxia.”
“Lastly, I hope you can become good friends with the ‘me’ of your world.”
With that, K423 turned and left. Sirin looked at Enoxia:
“Is there really no way to save Atlantis?”
Enoxia sighed helplessly:
“There are ways to reintegrate a world bubble into the Imaginary Tree. But we don’t have the Abyss Flower to sever it, nor can we guarantee that a Herrscher or a Judgement-class Honkai beast could sustain a world bubble internally.”
“Besides, Sa has already set her sights on this world bubble. Even if we found an alternative, snatching it from her would be like stealing from a tiger’s jaws.”
Sirin nodded regretfully but didn’t press further. Instead, she took out the small device Veronika had given her.
This clock-like tool had one purpose: to let those deep in the Sea of Quanta know the time in the main world.
After checking, Sirin didn’t hesitate to open a path home. After all, Veronika and Mobius had long since calculated the Sea’s fluctuations for the next few years. With the Herrscher of the Void’s authority unimpeded, they could return anytime.
Sirin was afraid that if she stayed in Atlantis too long, she might never want to leave.
And so, this perilous yet ultimately fruitless expedition came to an end. For safety’s sake, Enoxia decided that some questions could wait until 2015, when Kevin emerged from the sea on his own.
