Honkai: Oh No, I’ve Become the Herrscher of Corruption?! - Chapter 12
As Enoxia caught her breath, she scanned the area—no sign of Schicksal forces. If they’d waited for backup, all of London—maybe even the entire British Isles—would have been wiped out.
“I don’t have the strength left to deal with the Herrscher of Wind in Oslo right now. No point biting off more than I can chew—that’d just be feeding myself to the enemy. Better let Schicksal handle that one.”
She glanced at the Serenity gem in her hand and signaled Sirin. A small portal appeared beside her, and she tossed the core through.
“If only Sirin had been awake when I took the Gem of Conquest, I could’ve skipped all the fancy tricks. Just grab and toss—so convenient.” She marveled at the sheer utility of Void powers.
Since she couldn’t use Serenity herself, giving it to Sirin was the obvious choice. The stronger Sirin became, the safer she’d be.
Her clones forwarded the Herrscher’s dossier:
“Rosa Jones, 18 years old… Severe depression… She didn’t want to live in the first place, but after several failed suicide attempts, she willingly became a puppet of the Honkai. That explains why, when I eroded her Herrscher core, I didn’t feel any resistance at all. In fact, when I extracted the core, I even heard a ‘thank you’…”
During the battle, Enoxia had tasked clones worldwide to investigate their true identities. If any retained their humanity, diplomacy might be possible.
“The Herrscher of Wind… surrounded by cyclones, satellite images too blurry for ID. Well, can’t win them all.” Even her abilities were limited by current technology.
…
February 7, 2000 – 10:00 – German Border
Schicksal forces finally mobilized as the Honkai-fueled tornadoes—having ravaged Norway and Sweden—reached Denmark, barreling toward Germany.
Lewis, the most physically imposing B-rank Valkyrie and ground team leader, eyed the approaching storm and gave the order:
“Fire!”
Hundreds of rockets streaked toward the twisters. While they couldn’t breach the wind barriers, their destruction released Honkai traces—pinpointing the Herrscher’s exact location.
Meanwhile, at 51,000 meters, Cecilia Schariac stood aboard the airship Helios, gripping her Black Abyss White Flower tightly as she awaited the right moment.
“Lady Cecilia, 15 seconds to target. The Herrscher is approximately 800 meters above ground. Awaiting your mark.”
Cecilia adjusted her yellow goggles and tightened her grip.
“…5.”
“4.”
At “1,” she leapt—plummeting straight into the eye of the storm.
The Herrscher of Wind sensed the intrusion and hastily erected an overhead barrier.
“Spotted me? Then let’s begin.”
Midair, Cecilia twisted and hurled her lance with all her might.
“Go, Black Abyss!”
The wind shield shattered like glass. Before the Herrscher could react, the lance speared clean through its chest, leaving a gaping hole.
“AAGHHH!”
Ignoring its shrieks, Cecilia closed her eyes as she fell.
“White Flower—catch me!”
The embedded lance responded. Emerald vines erupted from the earth, weaving into a colossal slide that gently delivered her to the ground.
“Mission accomplished. Beautiful day, isn’t it?” She wiped her brow, smiling at the now-clear sky.
Then—
The calm shattered.
The tornado had dissipated, yet the Herrscher of Wind remained floating in the air.
Cecilia quickly jumped to her feet and yanked Black Abyss White Flower from the ground. The temporary calm vanished as violent winds surged once more. Countless tiny particles swirled toward the Herrscher, forming a massive vortex that began to devour everything around it.
“Damn it!” Cecilia barely resisted the pull. “If there were civilians…”
“Lady Cecilia! The Herrscher’s gone berserk from its injuries! Retreat for now—we’ll regroup!” Shigure Kira’s voice crackled through comms.
Cecilia knew she couldn’t reach the distant Herrscher alone. Reluctantly, she prepared to withdraw—
“Hm?”
An arrow streaked across the sky, striking the Herrscher square in the forehead. Within minutes, the maelstrom stilled. The Herrscher plummeted like a shot bird.
“Lady Cecilia! Something’s emerging from—”
Enoxia crawled out of the corpse.
“Having a pro around sure makes things easier.” She’d hitched a ride inside the arrow. Cecilia’s attack had destabilized the Herrscher’s form, allowing Enoxia to corrupt it with minimal effort.
“Thank you.” Cecilia beamed at her.
White hair, blue eyes, and a figure that would make any model jealous—Kiana had clearly inherited her mother’s genes. That radiant smile at close range short-circuited Enoxia’s brain. Only when Cecilia tilted her head in confusion did Enoxia realize she’d been staring. Flustered, she bowed and vanished.
“We’ll meet again in Siberia. Till then.” Cecilia departed under orders.
Watching her go, Enoxia vowed: “I’ll make sure you survive until the very end.”
Schicksal’s Siberian intel update pinged in her mind. As she reviewed it, one thing became clear:
The Herrschers of Death and Wind had just been the appetizers.
